Fake News Alert: CNN Admits “White Helmets” Staged Fake Video

CNN is FAKE NEWS; "White Helmets" exposed as CIA operatives

GLOBAL RESEARCH
By Tony Cartalucci
02/27/2017

CNN, among many other establishment media platforms, has long promoted the US-European funded “Syrian Civil Defence” also known as the “White Helmets,” which was recently granted the “Alternative Nobel Prize."

Yet on November 25, they published an article titled, “Syria’s White Helmets apologize for Mannequin Challenge video,” in which they admit:

It’s a familiar scene: Syria Civil Defence, also known as the “White Helmets,” rushing to rescue a man covered in rubble, but unlike thousands of other videos from Aleppo, this one is staged.

CNN would continue by claiming:

The nearly one-minute long video has been the subject of criticism on social media. On Wednesday Syria Civil Defence released a statement calling it an “error of judgment”.

“This video and the related posts were recorded by RFS media with Syria Civil Defence volunteers, who hoped to create a connection between the horror of Syria and the outside world using the viral ‘Mannequin challenge.’ This was an error of judgment, and we apologize on behalf of the volunteers involved,” the statement read.

Ignored by both the “White Helmets’” and RFS’ as well as CNN’s explanation of the video is the fact that the now admittedly staged video – besides the “mannequin challenge” style – is virtually indistinguishable from the “thousands of other videos from Aleppo” cited by CNN.

Just like “thousands of other videos from Aleppo” cited by CNN, the “victim” being “rescued” by the “White Helmets” is covered in dust and what appears to be blood, but otherwise uninjured. Unlike in a real bombing, those “rescued” by the “White Helmet” have their limbs intact, no deep, visible wounds, and lack any of the burns or trauma associated with weaponry used in modern combat.

It is unlikely that out of the “thousands of other videos from Aleppo” cited by CNN, none of them would feature actual trauma, and instead feature only the dust and fake “blood” covered “victims” as seen in the recent, admittedly staged video, as well as during recently staged protests in Europe.

Would CNN Have Covered “White Helmet” Deceit Without Alternative Media’s Coverage?

Of course, the alternative media has been exposing the “White Helmets” for years as perhaps one of the largest, most complex war propaganda operations conceived thus far by Western powers in their bid to sway public opinion amid regime change efforts in Syria.

Brennan and his CNN fake news propagandists have a date with The Hague War Crimes Tribunal

When the recent “mannequin challenge” video was uploaded, it was the alternative media that caught it, reported on it, and brought viral attention to it. It was the alternative media that exposed the fact that a supposed “rescue organization” was staging fake videos for war propaganda value – in possible violation of the Geneva Convention, and certainly in violation of basic ethical concerns.

It was only after the alternative media raised these concerns and cornered RFS and the “White Helmets” that establishment media platforms like CNN finally reacted to a story it likely would have otherwise ignored.

It is no wonder then, why establishment media platforms like CNN, the Washington Post, and others are so passionately opposed to the alternative media – they are no longer setting the agenda, and are instead forced to react. Real journalism equates to reporting and honestly analyzing world events rather than contriving and spinning them – for CNN and others, they no longer possess the freedom to do the latter without consequence.

For the alternative media, successes like this, and the fact that establishment Western media has all but declared war on the alternative media should highlight the value of honest journalism and analysis.

It should also be a constant reminder that fact-driven media will always win out over agenda-driven media. For the alternative media to continue to grow and be successful, it must reaffirm its dedication to fact-driven media no matter how tempting it is to do otherwise.

"In Fear For Their Life": Government Spending Thousands To Protect Worried Judges

The judges on the U.S. 9th Circuit would do well to take note

RT
02/27/2017

Tens of thousands of pounds are being spent by the Ministry of Justice to step up security measures for judges worried about their safety.

According to Freedom of Information (FOI) figures obtained by the Press Association (PA), nearly £25,000 have been spent on upgrading security at the homes of four judges between 2014 and 2016.

The findings come as the Judicial Attitude Survey, released every two years, revealed earlier this month that up to 51 percent of judges fear for their safety in court.

But 48 percent of female judges and 36 percent of males also worry about their safety while out of court.

The FOI data was obtained after High Court and Supreme Court judges faced a fierce backlash over their rulings which stated that Parliament must vote on Article 50 - the mechanism allowing the UK government to start the formal Brexit process of leaving the EU.

The Daily Mail was among the tabloids which launched a scathing attack on the judges, with one of its headlines claiming they were “the enemies of the people,” who had started a “war on democracy” by “defying the vote of 17.4 million voters.”

Between 2014/2015, £20,918.74 ($26,079.72) was spent on upgrading security at one judge’s house alone. The following year, £3,939.93 ($4,911.77) was spent on installing security devices at the home of three judges.

A family and civil court judge told PA that physical abuse and threats were common. Speaking anonymously, she described an instance when a man who had his children taken away from him smuggled a knife into court and threatened to kill her.

"The level of threats is getting worse. Incidents are common and the authorities are not even recording them," the judge said.

She added that judges were routinely being left with accusers and defendants in small rooms without any security guard to keep the situation under control.

The CNN pro-Remain fraud propagandists need to be ejected and banned from the UK, and barring that taken out on the streets by the public

Co-director of the UCL Judicial Institute Professor Cheryl Thomas, who coordinated the Judicial Attitude Survey, claims the government is also partly responsible for the heightened risk of judges being harmed.

She said government’s decision cut to legal aid has left people without a lawyer representing them, leading to “warring parties” facing each other in courtrooms.

"So as we have more and more people who need to go to court to resolve difficult, stressful, emotional family breakdown issues, who may not have access to lawyers to represent them, you have warring parties fighting it out in court," Thomas said.

"And that places much greater security concerns on judges in court."

Pro-EU "judges" that defy the will of The People do so at their own peril

The Judicial Attitude Survey also found that up to 15 percent of judges have concerns about how they are treated on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.

Thomas said: “Judges in their day jobs are judges, but they are also normal human beings and they may have Facebook accounts that have nothing to do with their work, and they may think that no one can find out anything about them.

“Or they may be completely unaware of the details about them that are simply very easily obtainable by quick internet searches.”

Thomas added that judges were now being briefed on what personal information is available to the public and how to increase their privacy if they wish for data not to be disclosed.

Indonesia – Russia’s Ticket To The Successful Cooperation With ASEAN

Indonesia will be the next ASEAN economic powerhouse

NEW EASTERN OUTLOOK
By Dmitry Bokarev
02/26/2017

In recent years, Russia has been actively developing its ties with the states of the South East Asian (SEA) region, which remains one of the fastest growing parts of the world.

Considerable progress has been achieved in improving ties with Indonesia, a powerful member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Indonesia, one of the leading countries of Southeast Asia, has the eighth largest economy in the world in terms of GDP, while being in the top five in terms of population.

Its success lies in the fact that this island nation is located at the intersection of sea routes connecting the Asia-Pacific region with the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

The Indonesian island of Sumatra, along with the Malay Peninsula form the famous Straits of Malacca, which sees impressive trade traffic between such nations as China and Japan and onward to Europe.

Thus, Indonesia itself is an attractive economic partner and the positions it enjoys within ASEAN makes it particularly beneficial for those willing to cooperate with this state.

It’s imperative to understand that by developing relations with Indonesia, Russia strengthens its position in a region rich in transport routes and cash flows.

As a sure sign of mutual trust enjoyed both by Russia and Indonesia, is rapidly growing arms sales. In 2009, the Russian Federation gave Indonesia a loan of 1 billion dollars for it to be able to purchase Russian military equipment. In 2015, Indonesia has again received a loan from Russia for the same purpose, but this time around it was considerably larger – 3 billion dollars. Now Indonesia is interested in acquiring Russia’s most advanced fighter – Su-35, so talks are now under way. There’s a possibility that these aircraft will be jointly produced in Indonesia.

Moreover, just a few weeks ago came a report that the Indonesian Ministry of Defense is considering the purchase of fifty Russian BTR-80 armored personal carriers for its marines. To secure this deal, Jakarta is planning to spend up to a 100 million dollars. It is expected that the final decision about the acquisition will be made next spring.

Another important area in which Russia and Indonesia have come to full understanding is the oil industry. Both countries are major oil producers, and their cooperation in this strategically important sector provides Russian-Indonesian relations with a solid basis.

In January 2016, the two sides officially acknowledged the negotiations for plans to start joint oil production in Siberia.

Last year during the Russia-ASEAN Business Forum held in Sochi, the head of the largest Russian oil producer Rosneft, Igor Sechin, announced that Indonesia currently buys petrochemical products made from Russian crude oil through other states, namely the Republic of Korea and Singapore. This state of affairs is not beneficial to either Russia or Indonesia, so it was announced that it is time to establish direct trade relations in this area. Moreover, Sechin noted that oil production levels in Indonesia are falling. Some 10 years ago, Jakarta produced 71 million tons of crude oil a year, but now it’s barely making 38 million tons, and this number continues dropping. At the same time the country’s population is growing rapidly, while industries are increasing the standard of living, hence energy consumption levels are rising. Experts predict that in the coming years Indonesia will be one of the main importers of hydrocarbons in the Asia-Pacific region.

This position is shared by the Director General at Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, Wiratmaja Puja, who has recently announced that Indonesia is planning to import large volumes of oil in the coming years. At the same time, to reduce costs, Indonesia is planning to process crude oil it’s buying itself. To do this, the country needs to build a network of refineries in the near future, and Russia may lend it a helping hand in this area.

It should be noted that investments in refineries are an extremely profitable proposition in the Asia-Pacific region, as it’s one of the largest consumers of fossil fuels, so Jakarta’s own refineries will save its budget from unnecessary expenditures. There’s been a tough competition between such states as China and Saudi Arabia for the right to assist Indonesia in this area, however Jakarta prefers to work with Russia. According Wiratmaja Puja, one of the reasons for this decision is the top-notch technologies that Russians have in this area. The Tuban refinery is going to be located in the most densely populated area of Indonesia, where energy consumption levels are the highest.

Yet another sign of the deep trust that Russia and Indonesia share is their transition to inter-regional cooperation. For example, Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region has already established trade ties with Indonesian companies, selling agricultural goods, oil, petrochemical products and so on.

In 2016 bilateral trade between Indonesia and the Nizhny Novgorod region exceeded 55 million dollars. In the future, the Nizhny Novgorod region and Indonesia intend to develop cooperation in areas such as engineering, education and tourism. On Indonesia’s side, there is interest in the possible cooperation with the Gorky Automobile Plant. Additionally, according to Indonesia’s ambassador to Moscow, Jakarta wants to train its students in Nizhny Novgorod universities.

These facts indicate that Russia and Indonesia are actively developing cooperation in various fields. Apparently, the two countries are on their way to establishing a lasting strategic partnership, through which Russia could strengthen its influence in other ASEAN countries.

White House Bars CNN, NYT, LAT, Politico From Briefing

CNN, NYT and other fake news outlets have zero "right" to "report" from the White House, their certain demise now accelerated as they hallucinate they are somehow still relevant

DEADLINE

Shortly after President Donald Trump vowed to “do something” about the “cunning” media who he’s called “the enemy” of the American people, CNNannounced on air it, and other members of the press, had been barred from today’s White House briefing.

CNN reports The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and Politico also were told they were not on the White House list for today’s off-camera briefing. The Washington Post reports it did not have a reporter present, at the time.

The New York Times also reported that it, CNN and Politico were not allowed to enter White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s office, calling it “an unsual breach of protocol.” Breitbart, Fox News, Washington Times, and One America News Network were among those given entry, CNN reported.

“Nothing like this has ever happened at the White House in our long history of covering multiple administrations of different parties,” NYT executive editor Dean Baquet said in a statement.

“We strongly protest the exclusion of The New York Times and the other news organizations. Free media access to a transparent government is obviously of crucial national interest.”

Fox News Channel host Bret Baier, however, insisted this was not a first, tweeting “some at CNN & NYT stood w/Fox News when the Obama admin attacked us & tried 2 exclude us.”

And, Ari Fleischer, who served as White House press secretary for George W. Bush, recommended the media stop hyperventilating. He called today’s move an unwise move for the White House press secretary, but reminded that presidents “self-select” media with whom to meet. Baquet may be correct in saying it has never been done before by a press secretary, but it has often been done by POTUS from both parties, Fleischer insisted on CNN. White House press corps should be thanking Trump, he suggested, because he has made them interesting again.

Today’s off-camera gaggle is distinct from the formal on-camera White House Press Briefing, held in the White House’s official briefing room and led by Spicer, which is not scheduled to take place today. It is not unusual to forego the on-camera press briefing on days when POTUS delivers a major speech, as happened this morning at CPAC.

CNN reports it was told by Spicer that the briefing was intended as a much smaller pool-coverage gathering, which typically means one print reporter, one radio reporter, etc. Spicer said he decided to expand the list of invitees as he saw fit, to include conservative-leaning news organizations; Spicer told CNN the intent was not to exclude certain news orgs, the cable news outlet reported.

But CNN reports it is the only major television network blocked from briefing.

“This is an unacceptable development by the Trump White House,” CNN said this afternoon in a statement. “Apparently this is how they retaliate when you report facts they don’t like.

“We’ll keep reporting regardless.”

The White House Correspondents Association has protested today’s move, and some organizations, including Associated Press and Time magazine, have said they are boycotting, though it’s unclear if they were on the Trump Administrations list of the Invited.

Shortly before news of the briefing broke, Trump promised his administration is going to “do something about” the press, telling CPAC attendees he wants to bar use of unnamed sources.

Despite their ludicrous, endless self promotions - which outstrip their "news" reporting for air time - CNN ratings continue to tank forcing them to take on advertising disguised as "in association with" infomercials

“They shouldn’t be allowed to use sources unless they use somebody’s name,’ Trump told an enthusiastic crowd of conservatives at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference gathering outside Washington, D.C.

In attacking the press, Trump was making good on a pledge made at CPAC one day earlier by his chief strategist Steve Bannon, who had promised the relationship between Trump and the media is “not only not going to get better, it’s going to get worse — every day.”

“[The press] are corporatist globalist media that are adamantly opposed to a economic nationalist agenda like Donald Trump has,” the former Breitbart chief said, and Trump parroted one day later.

“He’s going to continue to press his agenda. And, as economic conditions get better, as more jobs get better, they’re going to continue to fight,” said Bannon, referring to the media as “The Opposition Party.”

Erik Pederson contributed to this report.
