Court In France Confirms Farmer Was Poisoned By Monsanto Herbicide

Monsanto paid propagandist Hollande continues to propagate poisoning of the French middle classes

An important precedence has been set by a recent ruling in French Court. Even after an appeals court heard a case which attested that a farmer was poisoned by accidentally inhaling the fumes of an herbicide, they still sided in favor of the farmer. Considering that the herbicide, though not its best seller, was made by Monsanto – this news is even more important.

Monsanto makes an herbicide, which like Roundup, is damaging to human health. It’s called Lasso, and its main ingredient is alachlor. When a farmer was exposed to this herbicide, he became grossly disabled with severe neurological disorders.

The French court in Lyon, upheld a previous ruling that the US biotech company, Monsanto, was liable for the farmers’ poisoning when he inhaled the herbicide while attending to corn crops.

The case was originally heard in 2012, and the farmer, Paul Francois, was to be fully compensated for becoming disabled due to Monsanto’s product when he inhaled the fumes accidentally on his farm in 2004.

Hollande nothing more than a Monsanto
shill and propagandist
The appeals ruling came this last week, when the courts condemned Monsanto, even though its lawyers argued that there was not enough evidence linking the farmer’s symptoms to the herbicide.

Francois claims that after inhaling the Lasso herbicide, he became nauseated, began stuttering, and suffered dizziness, headaches, and muscular aches that rendered him unable to work for a year. The risks are not outlined on the product’s label.

Monsanto also had to answer for keeping health-impairing Lasso on the market until 2007, despite bans of the product in Canada, Britain, and Belgium.

This is another nail in Monsanto’s coffin in France, since just last June the French Ecology Minister, Segolene Royal, announced a ban on over-the-counter sales of the Monsanto weedkiller Roundup.

Even more recently, Russia announced a game-changing move in the fight against Monsanto’s GMOs, completely banning the use of genetically modified ingredients in any and all food production. This is even more important when you consider the fact that many GMO crops are specifically made to withstand copious amounts of herbicides.

War Is A Force That Gives Us Idiocy

The Bush/Cheney/Obama illegal wars have brought nothing but death, degeneracy and economic destitution to America - are they "good" wars?

WASHINGTON'S BLOG

During this year’s competition for Miss Italy, contestants were asked what historical epoch they might like to have lived in and why. The first young woman to answer said 1942. She had heard so much about World War II, she said, that she’d like to actually live it — plus, she added, women didn’t have to be in the military anyway.

Is the Bush/Obama Afghan war a "good" war?
A number of people over 18, including to all appearances the judges, deemed this idiotic.

And yet that contestant won and is now Miss Italy, whose job seems to be giving sadly laughable interviews in which she says that her favorite Italian historical figure is Michael Jordan, and she can understand why refugees flee horrors but that they should really go somewhere else other than Italy.

Maybe she would have fit into 1942 better than most people imagine.

There is a World War II problem in the United States and in more of Europe than one might expect, and — in fact — in a good bit of the Hollywood-viewing world. World War II is our origin myth, our hero myth, our tragedy, our locus of meaning and justification for how we live.

Reality still registers with many to a great extent. Some realize at times that World War II was the worst thing ever to happen on earth in a relatively brief space of time — the greatest quantity of death, injury, suffering, and destruction, and also the most dramatic degeneration of morality.

Vietnam: Was it a "good" war?

This was the war that moved the whole institution of war from something that killed primarily soldiers to something that has ever since killed primarily civilians. This was the acceptance and then the glorification of all-out war, tied to technological innovation, and transformed into a project of the entire community and an imagined economic good.

Without the World War II myth of “good war” one could not justify 70 years of militarism, materialism, and mad exploitation of planet and people ever since. Without the World War II myth, the Pope’s request that the United States end the wars and the arms trade could actually be heard and comprehended. An enormous percentage of stories in film, tv, books, magazines, etc., are set in or somehow connected to World War II. An 18-year-old in Italy (or the United States, for that matter) attempting in a moment of panic to think of an historical era in which something exciting occurred, could hardly answer other than World War II.

Is there such as thing as a "good" war?

That the excitement was no greater than excitement easily obtainable today is incomprehensible to people raised on the myth. That it was overwhelmed by horrific suffering gets lost in the mythologizing.

That the region Miss Italy is from was bombed, and that the bombs didn’t kill only males, has been buried in a mountain of cultural rubble. That moral clarity was most notable during World War II for its absence sounds like crazy talk to a young television viewer or reader of history text books.

Will the evildoers and warmongers be punished for their crimes? Who is responsible for this?

World War II is glorified in Hollywood because the United States was on the Russian, and therefore winning, side, having entered the European war once the Germans and Russians had killed each other for years, as Harry Truman openly advocated allowing. World War II is held up as a justification for dozens of unrelated wars that lack their own justifications, because of the particular evil of the losing side — the side that, perhaps unbeknownst to Miss Italy, Italy was on.

But of course the evil of the death camps had nothing to do with the U.S. refusal to aid Jewish refugees or stop the war short of absolute devastation. The evils of eugenics and human experimentation and biological weapons and so forth were on both sides and continued by the United States using former Nazi and Japanese scientists after the war. The creation of the war was foreseen in 1918 by many wise observers, and yet the policies that led to it were never halted. The German people were not assisted until after the second war. But the Nazis were assisted by Wall Street for years and years.

A war is a human-made disaster, just like climate chaos, just like the Miss Italy competition — only just a little bit worse. A war is not an ennobling adventure. Watching lies about it on television is not the same as “living” it would be. War is, in fact, what those unwanted refugees are fleeing. They’re fleeing the wreckage of completely unromantic war, created by governments in Washington, Rome, London, and Paris that pretty much view history the way Miss Italy views it.

Boehner To Resign As Speaker, Quit Congress In October

Congress traitors the likes of Boehner never resign their power for no good reason; praise from the Obama criminals confirms his place in history as nothing more than a snivelling, ass-kissing White House lackey and corporate prostitute

U.S. House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner will leave Congress at the end of October after struggling with repeated rebellions by conservatives during a tumultuous five-year reign as the chamber's top Republican.

John Boehner: Crying communist, inside trader
crook, wino, GOP Speaker
The 65-year-old Ohio lawmaker stunned Republican House members at a meeting on Friday morning with the announcement that he would leave the top job in the 435-seat chamber and resign his seat effective on Oct. 30.

U.S. Representative Kevin McCarthy, 50, of California, the No. 2 House Republican, quickly became the leading contender to replace Boehner as speaker. While loyal to Boehner, McCarthy has built personal relationships with conservative groups and tacked right recently to back the shutdown of the Export-Import bank.

Boehner (pronounced BOE-ner) told reporters McCarthy "would make an excellent speaker."

Boehner has faced constant pressure from conservatives who believe he was too willing to compromise with President Barack Obama and too frequently relied on Democratic votes to pass crucial legislation.

Obama praised the speaker as "a good man" and said he hoped Boehner would be in a position to get a lot done before he leaves.

Boehner told reporters he was stepping aside to avoid another brewing House battle over his leadership. Conservatives had threatened a revolt and possible government shutdown over spending next week.

Blubbering, whining traitor a disgrace to
America and Americans
"It's become clear to me this prolonged leadership turmoil would do irreparable harm to the institution," Boehner told a news conference. He fought back tears as he thanked his family but happily sang "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" to indicate he was far from broken up about the decision. "It's the right time to do it, and frankly I'm entirely comfortable doing it," Boehner said. His move eased the threat of a federal government shutdown next week, Republicans said, freeing Boehner to forge ahead with a "clean" spending bill that funds the women's healthcare group Planned Parenthood without fear of reprisal from conservatives who object to the group's abortion services.

But the battle over Boehner's successor could coincide with fights later this year over government spending and raising the federal debt limit, complicating those battles and adding more uncertainty for financial markets.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, a longtime foe of Boehner and his predecessor as speaker, said his pending departure would be "a distraction" during the spending debate and called his decision "seismic to the House."

On Thursday, Boehner, a Roman Catholic, realized a longtime goal of hosting Pope Francis for an address to Congress. As he stood with the pope to greet crowds on the Capitol's West front, he broke down in tears.

'TODAY'S THE DAY'

Boehner said he had planned to step down as speaker at the end of 2014 but changed his calculation when his No. 2 at the time, Eric Cantor, lost his seat last year in a Republican primary.

He then planned to announce in November that he would leave at the end of this year, he said, but came to the conclusion after his morning prayers on Friday that "today's the day I'm going to do this. Simple as that."

He informed staff just before the morning meeting with Republican House members.

"I saw him recently and he looked weary. Understandably, he was tired," U.S. Senator John McCain of Arizona, also a Republican, told reporters. "Sometimes we fail to appreciate that these are human beings with human emotions and lives to lead."

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal opinion poll on Friday found 72 percent of Republican primary voters were dissatisfied with Boehner and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.

Raucous cheers broke out at a gathering of religious conservatives in Washington when Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, a candidate for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, announced that Boehner planned to step down.

Ass-licking traitor John McCain pays tribute to fellow
drunken prostitute, whining douchebag Boehner
"I'm not here to bash anyone," Rubio told the crowd. "But the time has come to turn the page." Despite their clashes, Boehner frequently had bowed to the House's conservative wing, standing by as conservatives forced a government shutdown in 2013 and abandoning comprehensive immigration reform in 2013 and 2014. Many Republican lawmakers predicted McCarthy would be the next speaker.

The five-term lawmaker has built bridges to Tea Party conservatives and bucked Boehner by abandoning support for renewing the charter of the U.S. Export-Import Bank.

Conservatives successfully killed renewal of the bank's charter, arguing government should not meddle by picking economic winners and losers. Ex-Im offers financing to foreign buyers of U.S. goods.

Obama will now have to procure another bitch to do his bidding in Congress

McCarthy ignored reporters' questions about his future plans as he exited the morning meeting.

"Now is the time for our (House Republican) conference to focus on healing and unifying to face the challenges ahead and always do what is best for the American people," he said in a statement.

There was no immediate market reaction.

Phil Orlando, chief equity market strategist at Federated Investors, said: “The near-term news is good in that it suggests that Boehner is going to get a clean bill through as his last act as speaker, but the question becomes what happens post-Halloween and who the new speaker is going to be.”

The son of a bar owner and one of 12 children, Boehner is the only college graduate in his family. He grew up in Cincinnati and served in the U.S. Navy in 1969, then became a small businessman before launching a political career.

Boehner may still have a lot to cry about with the multiple scandals he was involved in awaiting investigation and prosecutions

On Thursday evening as Boehner left the Capitol, he told two reporters - one from Politico and another from the Washington Post - that he had nothing left to accomplish after bringing Pope Francis to the Capitol, Politico reported.

We have already discussed in the first part of this analysis how the American geography dooms whoever controls the territory to being a global power, but there are a number of other outcomes that shape what that power will be like. The first and most critical is the impact of that geography on the American mindset.
