Britain Must Remember Blair's Role In 2005 London Bombings Too

Blair and Bush along with the other war criminals will ultimately face justice for their crimes along with the "mainstream media" war shills and hacks that lied both countries into the illegal, immoral Iraq and Afghan wars

By Dallas Darling

London was still in disbelief the morning after July 7, 2005

The four suicide bombers on the previous day against underground trains-Liverpool Street station, Edgware Road station, King's Cross and Russell Square station, and a bus in Tavistock Square-paralyzed London's transport system. They also killed 56 people and left more than 700 injured. Just as shocking was an unknown Islamic group that claimed responsibility. The British public was stunned as well to find the four bombers were all British born and had never attracted the attention of the police for radical Islamic views. Acquaintances remembered them more for their work and interests in sports than in the Qur'an. Two left behind pregnant wives.

As Britain and the United Kingdom pauses to commemorate the victims and rescuers of the July 7 atrocities, "how" and "wherefore" a society remembers is just as important as "what" it remembers. Since "how and wherefore" memory pertains to the cause and effect narrative of the event, shame on then-British Prime Minister Tony Blair when he stood up in Parliament ten years ago and announced: "They are trying to use the slaughter of innocent people to cow us..."(1) Although his statement only referred to the four suicide-murder bombers, he, too, must share in their culpability of committing the atrocities and in radicalizing the four young British Muslims to carry out the deadly attacks.

Indeed, Blair was just as guilty as the suicide bombers in cowing the British public to use the slaughter of innocent Iraqis in furthering his own legacy.

To be certain, as early as July 23, 2002, Blair had called a meeting with senior British officials telling them that "there was a perceptible shift in attitude" towards Iraq and that "military action was now seen to be inevitable." Known as the Downing Street memo, he added that "President George W. Bush wanted to remove Saddam...justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD."

He added that "the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy," and that "the NSC had no patience with the UN route."(2)

To the dismay of the head of Britain's M16 Intelligence Agency and Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, they added that: "It seemed clear that Bush had made up his mind to take military action, even if the timing was not yet decided. But the case was thin. Saddam was not threatening his neighbors, and his WMD capability was less than that of Libya, North Korea or Iran."(3)

The same was true of Blair. Despite numerous National Intelligence reports and analysis and warnings from the CIA, detailing a list of false witnesses and make-believe evidence, he continued to push for a preemptive war against Iraq and of sending young British soldiers to their deaths.

For example, Blair spearheaded a British dossier which provided the first public charge that Iraq sought to buy uranium from an unspecified African country.(4) (The White Paper, that accused Niger of selling uranium to Iraq, was proven to be forged by many intelligence agencies and testimonies, even Niger's president.) Furthermore, when Bush continued to publicly lie about Hussein purchasing "significant qualities of uranium from Africa,"(5)

Blair remained silent. He also remained quiet in a private meeting with Bush on January 31, 2003. A meeting in which Bush declared that even if the UN resolved U.S. and British accusations, "war was inevitable" and "penciled in for March 10 already."(6)

Even worse, and acknowledging that UN inspectors had not yet found WMDs, Bush and Blair conspired in three possible ways of provoking war with Iraq should the U.S. case prove insufficient.

The first one was flying a U-2 spy plane, painted in UN colors, over Iraq to draw fire, thereby making Hussein in breach of Resolution 1441. Another provocation was the possibility of trying to produce an Iraq defector to give a public presentation on WMD's. Finally, both leaders of the Free World discussed the option and ramifications of assassinating Hussein.

Bush in transparent attempt to "sanitise" Blair with phoney
"Peace Medal"
Both the president and prime minister then conferred about a postwar Iraq, agreeing there would not be internecine warfare.(7) At last, the U.S. and Britain, along with Spain and Bulgaria, put forth a new UN resolution calling for a March 17 deadline for Iraq to "disarm." The preemptive war against Iraq commenced two days later, with internecine warfare immediately occurring.

Not only did the war and lengthy occupation cost thousands of British and American lives, with many more suffering from PTSD symptoms, but it killed at least one million Iraqis with another four million becoming refugees.

And while the nine U.S. and British biological-weapons experts concluded that "there was no connection to anything biological"(8), a British parliamentary report finally calls into question the uranium transaction.(9)

Even then, Blair's culpability continued to reach from Britain to Iraq. For instance, he tried to undermine a National Intelligence Council and National Intelligence Estimateconcluding that the Iraqi insurgence is homegrown and thrives on Iraqi resentment of the U.S. and British occupation, including massive aerial bombing campaigns. He also censored reports warning that the unrest could lead to a destructive civil war, and that some young Muslims back in the states which initiated the preemptive war against Iraq and its military occupation could carry out extreme, retaliatory acts of violence and terrorism, such as suicide-homicide bombs or attacking "public places of interest."(10)

The United States' inverted-totalitarian-exceptionalism and its corporate fascist state will never allow its war criminals, like President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld-who on Sept. 15, five days after the attacks on mainland America, noted the "scarcity of good targets in Afghanistan" and therefore suggested attacking Iraq(11)-to be arraigned and brought to trial for crimes against peace and humanity.

However, there is still hope for Britain. There are still signs of a vibrant protest movement and of veteran families seeking a sense of justice for their sons and daughters. There is also the Chilcot Inquiry which should continue to move forward and investigate Blair. Will the civilization which initiated one of the most seminal documents in history, Magna Carta which limited absolute rule and granted certain rights, again make history? Will the nation that beheaded a king and ended the divine right to rule, continue to do so by ensuring that Blair is tried for his participatory war crimes against innocent Iraqis, even his own soldiers and people?

Seldom do societies functionproperly without an accurate view of history and memory.

They become so dysfunctional that they collapse. A court hearing debating Blair's crimes against peace and humanity would bring legitimacy and renew public trust.

It would also set a precedent and send a clear message across the Atlantic.

No Jobs For The Young, No Retirement For The Old

Every cent now being looted from the Treasury to finance Obama's endless wars and Pentagon theft, while forcing young Americans into the military simply in order to survive

By Charles Hugh Smith

You may have seen a variation of this chart of employment in the U.S. by age group.

The below chart–courtesy of— shows the number of those employed (with any kind of job–full-time, part-time, self-employed) as a percentage of the Civilian Noninstitutional Population (CNP), which includes everyone 16 years of age and older who is not institutionalized or on active duty in the Armed Forces.

A number of striking features pop out of this chart:

1. Employment in the 16-19 age cohort has been dropping for 35 years, and fell off a cliff in 2008.

2. Employment in the 20-24 and 25-54 age cohorts topped out in 2001 and has yet to recover the pre-recession levels of 2008.

3. The only age cohort with employment growth since 2000 is the 55 and older group.

There are many theories as to why youth employment has plummeted while 55+ employment is rising, but demographics and financial insecurity likely play major roles.Back when Social Security was established, few people lived beyond their 60s.

A retirement age of 65 meant most people lived only a few years beyond retirement.

Now people live into their 80s, and medical technologies are enabling many to remain active even in their advanced years.

As people live longer, those reaching retirement age (early to mid 60s) often have elderly parents in their 80s who need care and financial support. People living into their late 80s, once a rarity, are now commonplace.

Social Security has been systematically looted over the last
three decades by the government and Congress
As the economy has stagnated, financial demands on their own children (in their 30s and early 40s) have increased, leaving many of those reaching retirement age with two generations needing help. Retirement is not much of an option when every scrap of income is needed.

Over the past 35 years, defined pension plans that were once common benefits of corporate employment have vanished and been replaced by 401K plans which transfer the risk to the employee. As the stock market has soared and crashed twice in the past fifteen years, those approaching retirement can no longer trust that their pension fund is secure.

The Federal Reserve’s Zero Interest Rate Policy (ZIRP) has destroyed low-risk yields on retirement funds (401Ks, IRAs, etc.), greatly reducing the yield on retirement savings. As a a direct result of Fed policy (designed to recapitalize banks at the expense of savers and retirees), those hoping to retire have been forced to put their savings at risk (investing in risky assets such as junk bond funds) or working longer because the low-risk yield on retirement savings are now meagre.

The reality is that financial insecurity is rising for everyone heading into retirement. Even state and local government workers are concerned that their pensions aren’t as secure as they were a generation or two ago, as the fiscal imbalances of many local government budgets are the New Normal.

Obama continues the looting, while his bought
and paid for "mainstream media" ignores the issue
and launches a media campaign to convince
Americans it is a natural course of events
The Federal government can effectively create money to pay Social Security, veterans and federal employee pensions, but there is no guarantee that these pensions will keep up with inflation or not be taxed to oblivion.

One key source of financial insecurity is the growing awareness that the rules will be changed without consent of the governed to preserve the perquisites of the Ruling Class and powerful vested interests.

It would be foolish in the extreme to trust that the Powers That Be won’t change the rules in a heartbeat when their power and wealth are threatened by instability.

The Nobility will change the rules and the peasants will pay–end of story.

American seniors are already eating dog and cat food in order to survive

In this context, we shouldn’t wonder why people are working into their 70s–we should wonder why anyone retires, assuming they’ll still be receiving their full pension in five years.

George W. Bush Charged $100,000 To Help U.S. Veterans Charity

A filthy, disgusting spectacle once more from the retarded, drunken murderer and war criminal who sent these military veterans to Iraq and Afghanistan in contrived, illegal wars based on a pack of lies - and now cashes in on their suffering

By Megan Churchmach and Brian Ross

Former President George W. Bush charged $100,000 to speak at a charity fundraiser for U.S. military veterans severely wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, and former First Lady Laura Bush collected $50,000 to appear a year earlier, officials of the Texas-based Helping a Hero charity confirmed to ABC News.

Bush now shamelessly cashes in on the
suffering of our military veterans
The former President was also provided with a private jet to travel to Houston at a cost of $20,000, the officials said.

The charity, which helps to provide specially-adapted homes for veterans who lost limbs and suffered other severe injuries in “the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan,” said the total $170,000 expenditure was justified because the former President and First Lady offered discounted fees and helped raise record amounts in contributions at galas held in 2011 and 2012.

“It was great because he reduced his normal fee of $250,000 down to $100,000,” said Meredith Iler, the former chairman of the charity.

The coward, war criminal Bush now adds yet
another disgusting chapter to his "legacy"
However, a recent report by Politico said the former President’s fees typically ranged between $100,000 and $175,000 during those years.

One of the wounded vets who served on the charity’s board told ABC News he was outraged that his former commander in chief would charge any fee to speak on behalf of men and women he ordered into harm's way. “For him to be paid to raise money for veterans that were wounded in combat under his orders, I don’t think that’s right,” said former Marine Eddie Wright, who lost both hands in a rocket attack in Fallujah, Iraq in 2004.

“You sent me to war,” added Wright speaking of the former President. “I was doing what you told me to do, gladly for you and our country and I have no regrets. But it’s kind of a slap in the face.”

With a mother like this, it is no wonder Bush believes he can get away with using our veterans to enrich himself and his criminal family on the backs of our disabled military personnel

Former U.S. Presidents have turned the speaker’s circuit into a major source of income for their post-presidential years. Ronald Reagan faced criticism in 1989 for accepting $2 million for speeches in Japan. Bill Clinton has brought in more than $100 million in post-presidential speaking fees.

Bush, Cheney, Rice, Powell, Rumsfeld are responsible
for THIS
Bush, similarly, recognized the opportunity, reportedly telling author Robert Draper he planned to "replenish the ol' coffers" on the lecture circuit. But as the commander-in-chief responsible for the prosecution of two bloody wars, Bush has faced a unique dilemma when it has come to addressing military veterans groups.

A spokesperson for former President Bill Clinton said he "has never received" a speaking fee for addressing a veterans' group.

A spokesperson for former President Bush’s father, George Herbert Walker Bush, said it has been several years since the elder Bush had given a speech, but said that he did not recall a fee being requested for charity events.

On a “handful of occasions” Bush Sr.'s appearance may have been underwritten to cover costs for the charities, spokesman Jim McGrath said. H.W. Bush reportedly appeared at a Helping a Hero event in 2008.

Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates was the featured speaker at last year’s Helping a Hero charity fundraiser and did not charge a fee. A representative for former President Jimmy Carter said he does not have a specific policy but often donates his honoraria to the Carter Center.

A lawyer for Helping a Hero, Christopher Tritico, said he could not answer why former President George W. Bush did not speak for free.

“I think it's a valid question for the former President,” he said. “It's not a valid question for a charity who raised an extra million dollars.”

Bush has never had anything other than contempt for the military

According to the charity’s yearly reports to the IRS, it raised about $2,450,000, after expenses, from the 2012 gala where President Bush spoke.

The following year, the gala netted the charity substantially less, about $1,000,000.

Speaking and traveling fees for the former President were paid by the charity, but the amount was underwritten by a private donor, the charity lawyer said. A spokesperson for the former President, Freddy Ford, confirmed the payment but declined to comment on the criticism over the $100,000 speaking fee from the veterans' charity.

In an e-mail statement, Ford said, “President Bush has made helping veterans one of his highest priorities in his post presidency.”

He said the former President has hosted golf tournaments and mountain bike rides for veterans and was working on the Bush Institute’s Military Service Initiative to help “give returning veterans the first-class support they deserve.”

The Bush war criminals must be brought to trial and held accountable for each and every U.S. military death and disablement sustained in their illegal, immoral, fabricated wars along with the "mainstream media" war shills and propagandists that lied Americans into them

We have already discussed in the first part of this analysis how the American geography dooms whoever controls the territory to being a global power, but there are a number of other outcomes that shape what that power will be like. The first and most critical is the impact of that geography on the American mindset.
