Ignorance Is Bliss : Until You Are Incinerated In A Nuclear Exchange

Americans will come to the conclusion - albeit belated - that this is one issue they should not have ignored

By Joe Clifford

The purpose of corporate “news” media is to dull your mind and insure you are sufficiently dumbed down and distracted from the real issues, by feeding you pointless irrelevant social trivia.

Fox "News" fruitcake Shep Smith
As long as you are distracted, you are unable to organize, get involved, or seek change, which is exactly what corporate media wants, and is exactly where they have you.

Don’t think so? Answer the following questions:

We have been at war in Afghanistan for over 13 years; why? What are we fighting for? Who are we fighting? Where is Afghanistan and why can’t most Americans even find it on a map after 13 years of war?

How about Iraq? Most Americans cannot find Iraq on a world map, can you? How long have we been at war in Iraq? Why are we at war in Iraq? Who are we fighting in Iraq? What do they want? What do we want?

How about Syria? Who are we fighting? Where is Syria on a map? Who or what is ISIS? What do they want? Are we with or against Assad? Why are we helping Al-Qaeda?

Let’s look at Libya? Why did we bomb it daily for seven consecutive months? Where is Libya on a map?

Why did we support Muammar al- Quadafi, then help kill him? What has happened to Libya after we bombed them to save them?

How about Egypt? Who is the current dictator of Egypt and why do we support a dictator? How do we support him?

How about Russia? Most Americans do not have a clue that we are now very close to a war with Russia, but then again most folks never saw World War I coming either.

Why do we now have troops in the all the Baltic States on the border with Russia? Why are we installing missiles on Russia’s border?

Where is the Ukraine in relationship to the US? Where is the Ukraine in relationship to Russia? How many military bases does Russia have outside Russia? How many military bases does the US have outside of its borders?

What was the Kennedy’s reaction when he found out that Russia had installed missiles in Cuba?

Why is the US having “war games” less than one mile from the Russian border?

How many foreign nations has Russia invaded since the end of WWII?

How many nations has the US invaded or bombed since the end of WWII?

Why does corporate media depict Russia as militarily aggressive?

Why did the US spend 5 billion dollars promoting unrest an orchestrating a coup against a democratically elected government in the Ukraine? Why did the foul mouthed neocon US ambassador, Victoria Nuland say, and what did she mean, when she so eloquently said: “F… the EU”?

CNN's lying, warmongering fraud Wold Blitzer
How about China? Where is the South China Sea in relationship to both China and the US? Why is the US establishing missiles and a military base in Australia? Where is Australia in relationship to China?

Why has the US flown provocative flights very near Chinese claimed Islands in the South China Sea?

Yemen. Where is it? Why are we helping the most brutal dictatorship in the world, Saudi Arabia, bomb Yemen into annihilation?

And finally folks, one last serous question. What is wrong with a nation that has been at war through 93% of its history?

OK, so you are not a genius and you may not be able to answer all of the above questions, so try this on. When was the last time you heard any serious discussion of one of these issues by corporate news media outlets?

OK perhaps I am a bit harsh, so let’s get to what you do know because of corporate news media.

Most Americans know all about, over and underinflated footballs. Most Americans know just about all there is to know about the Kardashians and the Bruce Jenner saga.

Think about the pablum you are being fed and the great questions that are being avoided by corporate media.

Reading may not broaden your knowledge of properly inflated footballs and the Kardashians, but it will help you to understand that neocon idiots are bringing us to the brink of a nuclear holocaust with Russia and China?

Terrorist Attacks Will Continue To Soar And Here's Why

The CIA

By Dallas Darling

The world must come to terms with hard truths instead of pleasant sounding euphemisms and soundbites. Indeed, just as the so-called "Global Village" will always contain conflict and community, or the "Modern Age" is actually a continuation of a divergent past, dubious "Preemptive Wars" will be vehemently resisted with questionable forms of violence considered to be acts of terror and terrorism.

Unlike the U.S. State Department, which seemed surprised that the number of terrorist attacks jumped 35% in 2014 and that fatalities soared 81%,(1) the rise in terrorism came as no surprise for those aware of inherent human nature or who understand the intrinsic crises found in nations and societies.

Coupled with mindless policies, the explosion of individual, tribal, stateless and state-sponsored acts of terrorism will continue to soar.

For instance, the very concept of "modern civilization" is a misnomer, since it suggests a desire to separate the present from the past. But even progressive political and military ideas or modern human nature are extensions of the historical past.

As long as "modern civilizations" refuse to acknowledge this, trying to impose their military hubris or state and economic systems and values onto certain regions, terrorism will increase.

Secondly and thirdly, some will always find morality in terrorism. In other words, terror will be a virtue and fully justified because it helps defend and maintain the principles of a given society under attack. Others will see acts of terror as a revolutionary means to achieve political and economic goals-the ends justifying means rationale. Revolutionary terror will also be difficult to eliminate because it is a desperate tool by the powerless.

Surprisingly, advanced technologies, electronic communications, and artificial intelligence will produce more acts of terror.

Avoiding face-to-face communication via electronics will make cruelty easier to accomplish. (This includes Western, democratic states.) It will as well increase the "shock" value of terrorist attacks as ISIS discovered. Hostage taking will increase, too, making it easier to communicate and transfer funds.

Another cause for the rise of terrorism will be highly centralized nations that which remain isolated and will deal superficially with the root causes of terrorism.

Furthermore, a shallow grasp of history and solutions will merely cause more confusion, conflict and terror. Both states and terrorist entities, for that matter, will always act in their best self interests, preventing viable political solutions and agreements from occurring.

Seventh, the "Global Media" will multiply the power of terrorists and terrorist states while it decreases it for nations.

Global Media's decentralization of its false prestige will give rise to more extreme secular, ethnic and religious groups including their causes. Still, media misinformation and internet chatter will cause more confusion and mismanagement of conventional wars, as is being proved with the Global War On Terror.

As "Cultural Diffusion" clashes with cultural differences, the other reason for soaring terrorism will be aggressive behavior fueled by meritocracy. Forced Cultural Diffusion will produce deadly competitions in states and regions.

Consequently, and as resource scarcity increases, desperate political, economic, and survivalist situations will occur. Frantic conditions and rivalries will provide opportunities for millions to rebel violently.

Finally, militant and corporate empires and states will find it necessary to maintain their rule and exploitative practices around the globe, including their lucrative arms trade. Their violent assaults (always disguised as benevolent gestures) against both democratic movements or terrorist organizations will have devastating effects, as observed in Haiti, Iraq, Afghanistan, Honduras, Yemen, Syria, Egypt, Palestine and many more.

As more and more terrorist attacks (13,500 in 2014) soar around the world, so, too, will fatalities (33,000 in 2014). The world might appear in flames but again, it is a continuation of the past. It is also an outgrowth of the failures of imagination, especially among leaders and citizens incapable of imagining a world of peaceful co-existence, of not being able to live as equals with and among others.

Consequently, preemptive wars and acts of terror-two ambiguous terms-will continue to multiply and pollute the world with mass killings and terror.

Greek Banks To Remain Closed For Unspecified Time

The run on the banks begins; when the Greek people are once again fucked out of their money this time around they will burn them to the ground, initiating the total collapse of the EU and the Euro

By Suzanne Lynch

Greek banks will remain shut for an unspecified time and the country is imposing restrictions on bank withdrawals following a recommendation by the Bank of Greece, the country’s prime minister has said.

Beginning of the end for the EU robber barons, bank
criminals, IMF, Euro
The Greek financial stability council, meanwhile, has recommended keeping bank machine’s shut on Monday and limiting withdrawals to €60 a day once they reopen on Tuesday, a source who took part in the council’s meeting said. The recommended limit will apply to holders of Greek bank cards. Foreign card holders will be allowed to withdraw the maximum limit set by their banks, the source said on Sunday.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras earlier announced a bank holiday and capital controls after Greeks responded to his surprise call for a referendum on bailout terms by taking money out of banks.

For the capital controls to take effect, they must be approved by the Greek cabinet and then enacted through a presidential decree. “The council recommended a bank holiday of six working days until

Monday night next week. ATMs will not operate tomorrow, will open again on Tuesday,” the source said.

Sunday’s moves come after two days of long lines forming at ATMs across the country following Mr Tsipras’s sudden decision to call a referendum on creditor proposals for Greek reforms in return for vital bailout funds.

An emergency meeting of the country’s financial stability council agreed to impose capital controls, which would restrict how much money savers can withdraw from their accounts, to ease pressure on the banking system.

The stock exchange in Greece will also remain closed on Monday.

The European Central Bank has said it will maintain its emergency funding of Greek banks at the level agreed on Friday but will not provide any additional assistance.

The ECB said it would work closely with the Bank of Greece and stood ready to review the decision on its Emergency Liquidity Assistance.

IMF criminal Lagarde has now shot herself in the
head and will be held responsible for all deaths
resulting from new rioting in Greece
The country’s parliament has backed a decision by Mr Tsipras to hold a referendum on a proposed bailout package next Sunday. “We don’t need to ask permission from Mr Schäuble or Mr Dijsselbloem to let the voice of the Greek people to be heard,” Mr Tsipras tweeted. “We will be holding the referendum next Sunday, honouring the sovereignty of our people and our future.” The decision by the Greek parliament to press ahead with the ballot came just hours after euro zone finance ministers rejected a request by Athens to extend the current Greek bailout past Tuesday.

Speaking after yesterday’s eurogroup meeting - which saw the 18 euro zone finance ministers reconvene after Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis had left the gathering - euro group chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem said that ministers were making preparations to protect the resilience of the euro and were ready to make “full use of the instruments available."

The overreach of the Nazi Merkel has now doomed the
entire EU and the Euro
The Syriza party has already indicated it will vote ‘No’ to the referendum, though it still remains unclear what the Greek public will be asked to vote on given that the bailout package will expire on Tuesday night. A previous referendum called by former prime minister George Papandreou four years ago was cancelled after the then-government reached agreement with bailout creditors.

The referendum announcement on Friday stunned creditors.

Minister for Finance Michael Noonan said yesterday that he had expected to continue negotiations on the bailout at a meeting in Brussels, noting that there had been some common positions between the two sides. But the decision by Greek negotiators to “unilaterally” withdraw from the discussions had been “disappointing.”

Mr Tsipras said the proposed bailout would violate European rules and the rights to equality, work and dignity. He urged Greeks not to accept “an austere and humiliating austerity programme which has no end and no prospect of getting back on our feet”.

Doomed: This time around the EU robber barons will pay for the destruction of the Greek economy with the dissolution of the EU and with it their own terrorist regimes and criminal organisations

Mr Tsipras made little headway on the Greek bailout discussions at this week’s EU summit, with leaders insisting negotiations continue to take place at a technical level.

Mr Noonan said two proposals were being considered on Thursday, one from the institutions and one from Greece. He said the purpose of today’s meeting was supposed to be to continue bridging the gap between the proposals.

“Then I found at 12 o’clock last night that the Greeks had unilaterally discontinued negotiations. I’m disappointed,” he said.

The inevitable replay if the last riots will be far worse

There were reports of queues at cash machines in Athens following the surprise announcement of a referendum.

Some say Europe is better equipped to handle a Greek euro exit, but others say it is unclear what might happen. The euro dropped in value slightly on international markets after the referendum was called.

Ukraine : Who Invaded Who?

Obama's murdering CIA engineered and financed coup in Kiev now common knowledge

By William Dunkerly

Why did Kyiv invade the Donbass region? To that question you might respond quizzically: who did WHAT? Everyone knows it was Russia that invaded Ukraine, right?

Poroshenko with Biden
Not only that, but Russia isn't going to stop in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. We all know of Putin's aggressive territorial ambitions. He wants to recreate the Soviet Union, right?

If you have no personal knowledge of these facts, you can take it from President Barack Obama. Recently he issued a warning at the June 7 summit of the G7.

He admonished the world to "stay vigilant and stay focused on the importance of upholding the principles of territorial integrity" regarding Ukraine.

Obama explained that Putin is "in pursuit of a wrong-headed desire to recreate the glories of the Soviet empire."

However, the president failed to disclose how he knows that Putin has territorial conquest on the agenda. Putin denies it. How do we know who's right?

These are the characters who the US Government used to carry out this coup d’état. These are the tactics by which the EU has just installed an illegitimate government in the Ukraine. These are the folks who Russia is supposed to respect as representing the new government of one of their biggest trading partners … and debtor nations

The rhetoric of Obama about Ukraine reminds me of the commonly-accepted version of the 2008 war between Russia and Georgia. Reportage then was replete with unsubstantiated allegations, too. Typical headlines exclaimed "Russia Invades Georgia." Territorial expansion was in the news. President Mikheil Saakashvili was out in front bemoaning the tragedy that was inflicted upon his country.

That's what set me comparing the ongoing Ukrainian crisis with what happened in Georgia. Despite the assertive headlines, Georgia was another case where reliable facts were hard to find. There were a lot of confident allegations, but few hard facts on the Georgian side of the story.

It came down to a question of who shot first. The Russian counter-version of the story claimed the Georgians started the conflict and that Russia was merely being reactive. The Russian argument was greeted with quite a lot of disbelief.

A critically injured Ukrainian child, victim of Obama and his mass-murdering CIA

Later, however, a multinational EU fact-finding mission issued a report that blamed Georgia for the war. A Spiegel Online headline proclaimed, "EU Investigators Debunk Saakashvili's Lies." The Russia-Invades-Georgia story was a highly successful fabrication.

Now in Ukraine the question is not who shot first. It's who invaded who. If we take Obama's word for it, the headline would be "Russia Invades Eastern Ukraine."

But I think there's another side to the story. What is it? It is that maybe Kyiv invaded Donbass, the area in which thousands of Ukrainians have died in horrific battles.

You see, if you think about it, there are two Ukraines. To justify that statement let me paraphrase a Clintonism: it depends on what the meaning of the word Ukraine is. There is a "former Ukraine." That's the country that existed before the Maidan uprisings. It was territorially whole, constitutional, and not beset by bloody internal war.

US President Barack Obama revealed the United States’ involvement in the Ukrainian crisis from its outset and admitted that the United States “had brokered a deal to transition power in Ukraine"

Now there is the new Ukraine, the Ukraine created by the Maidanists. Many observers, like Obama, automatically equate the borders of the new Ukraine with those of the former Ukraine. But that equivalence does not seem to be rooted in reality.

The notion that the new Ukraine is entitled to all the territory of the former Ukraine is quite tenuous. There was no constitutional transfer from the former to the new. Instead, an armed junta took over in Kyiv by force. It chased the democratically-elected president Yanukovych out of the country under threats of death. And it nullified the democratically-instituted constitution.

A so-called interim government was put in place by the junta. It ruled from February 27, 2014 until June 7, 2014 when President Petro Poroshenko assumed office following a democratic election. In the meantime, however, two areas of former Ukraine, Donbass and Crimea, declined to become parts of the new Ukraine. The new Ukraine never had controlled those territories, and the majority of the inhabitants wanted no part of the new Ukraine.

U.S., EU, NATO aggression (Please click to enlarge map)

I find it is hard for many people to wrap their minds around the foregoing explanation. The media drumbeat has constantly sounded out the Kyiv-centric version of things. Most casual observers have accepted it as gospel. Passions run high among those immersed in the news reports.

So it might be helpful to strip away the polarized positions that many have taken regarding Ukraine. To sidestep those entrenched views, let's explore the relevant issues with a hypothetical parallel:

Just say that in Spain there is a revolution whereby people who feel antagonistically toward Catalonians take over by force in Madrid. They throw out the Spanish constitution. There is no legal continuity of government. The junta immediately advances threats that diminish the cultural and linguistic heritage and practices of Catalonians.

In response the Catalonians take charge of their own territory. That region was never under control of the junta. What in the world would broadly legitimize a junta's claim of a right to control Catalonia?

And what just person would not condemn the junta if it invaded Catalonia, causing thousands of deaths and much economic destruction?

Obama determined to spark WWIII to cover for the collapse of his "empire" and save his own ass in the process

Of course the situation in Ukraine is much more complicated due to the Soviet background, differing World War II related sentiments and legends, and a long-running and well-crafted demonization of Putin in the press. But the principle seems the same to me. The hypothetical Catalonian scenario is the reality of Ukraine today. All of it. Donbass is the real Catalonia.

What this adds up to is that Kyiv indeed invaded Donbass.

All the flap about Russia sending troops and weapons into Eastern Ukraine has things backwards. What's being called Eastern Ukraine in the press is in reality Donbass. Russia actively denies that it has supported Donbass with military personnel and equipment. I don't know whether it has or not.

Nazis have once again taken over Ukraine - with an assist from Obama & Co.

But isn't whatever Russia might be doing really a moot point? The real issue is that Kyiv invaded Donbass. That's the source of all the death and destruction. Once again, Russia didn't shoot first. It was just made the villain by a skillful campaign based on fabrications.

Unfortunately, world attention has been diverted from Kyiv's transgressions and the horror they have wreaked.

It's been redirected to the reported Russian aggression. I've documented in my book Ukraine in the Crosshairs how those allegations are not fact based. I think it is very important to question why the press, the US, NATO, and the EU have so contorted their depiction of the Ukrainian crisis. Their actions have worked to the detriment of the Ukrainian people.

Ostensibly, the Maidanists claimed from the start to be seeking greater democracy and closer ties to Europe. The junta argued that a proposed EU association agreement was the key. Not everyone agreed. And that divisive issue spawned the internal conflict that precipitated the great Ukrainian crisis.

Look at what's happened in the junta's wake:

--Before the escalation of the Maidan protests, there was no threat of a Russian invasion, there were no fighting "separatists," there was no war in Donbass. Ukraine was whole.

--Sanctions were not causing ruinous economic damage to many countries. Relations between the US and Russia were not in dangerous disarray.

--There were no war-torn Donbass cities, towns, and villages. Thousands of now deceased Ukrainians were still alive.

--And the opportunity for replacing the unpopular leader Yanukovych through a democratic election was on the immediate horizon. Change was in the offing without any need for war.

Take a good look at what's transpired and tell me what tangible benefit has accrued to the Ukrainian people. The Maidanists set out to improve the population's lot. But things have gotten worse. Much worse.

The vile CIA whore Victoria "Fuck the EU" Nuland receiving the Adolph Hitler Award for Population Extermination from Ukrainian Nazis

It is difficult to imagine why anyone would believe that association with the EU will undo all the damage that conflict has caused. Claims it will help seem illusory. In the end, the horrors inflicted upon Ukrainians by the junta were totally unnecessary, ineffectual, and counterproductive.

What on earth are the motives of the people and governments that promoted and supported all this needless death and destruction?

We have already discussed in the first part of this analysis how the American geography dooms whoever controls the territory to being a global power, but there are a number of other outcomes that shape what that power will be like. The first and most critical is the impact of that geography on the American mindset.

On October 12, 2002 the Indonesian island of Bali experienced a terrorist attack that rocked the world. It was unquestionably well-coordinated and executed, the largest in the country's history.
