Tall Story : NBC’s Brian Williams Retracts Fake Iraq War Tale After Soldiers Protest

MSM frauds and hacks will be held personally responsible this time around for lying America into yet another bogus war

In a recent broadcast paying tribute to an Iraq War veteran, NBC’s Brian Williams said that he was onboard a helicopter brought down by enemy fire in Iraq in 2003. However, he has now retracted the story after soldiers present exposed his claim as a lie.

Liar, fraud, NBC corporate propagandist war
shill Brian Williams
Williams addressed his “bungled” story on his show Wednesday night. He also recanted the story in an interview with the military newspaper Stars and Stripes, also published Wednesday.

“I made a mistake in recalling the events of 12 years ago,” Williams said. “I want to apologize. I said I was traveling in an aircraft that was hit by RPG fire. I was instead in a following aircraft.”

The controversy arose after NBC News broadcast a public tribute to Command Sgt. Maj. Tim Terpak, an Iraq veteran who Williams said had been in charge of the journalists’ safety at the time of the incident.

The tribute was shot at a New York Rangers hockey game, which Williams attended with Terpak. At the game, Williams recounted his helicopter story.

“The story actually started with a terrible moment a dozen years back during the invasion of Iraq when the helicopter we were traveling in was forced down after being hit by an RPG,” Williams said on the broadcast. “Our traveling NBC News team was rescued, surrounded and kept alive by an armor mechanized platoon from the US Army 3rd Infantry.”

Former anchor Dan Rather, known himself for "speaking with
forked-tongue" gets a kick out of Williams bust
The trouble was that Williams’ account wasn’t true.

Crew members who had been on the aircraft that was hit told Stars and Stripes that Williams was“nowhere near” the helicopter “or two other Chinooks flying in the formation that took fire.” Instead, they said the anchor “arrived in the area about an hour later on another helicopter.”

Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Miller was a flight engineer on the aircraft that carried journalists.

“No, we never came under direct enemy fire to the aircraft,” Miller told Stars and Stripes. The claim by Williams rankled Miller, as well as other soldiers aboard the Chinooks that did come under attack in 2003.

“It was something personal for us that was kind of life-changing for me. I know how lucky I was to survive it,” Lance Reynolds, the flight engineer, told Stars and Stripes. “It felt like a personal experience that someone else wanted to participate in and didn’t deserve to participate in.”

Reynolds said Williams and the NBC cameramen arrived in a helicopter 30 to 60 minutes after his damaged Chinook made a rolling landing at an Iraqi airfield and skidded off the runway into the desert.

He said he brushed them off because his crew was trying to assess damage to the aircraft and he was worried his wife might see the news report. He said he wanted to tell her everything was all right.

Stars and Stripes reported that Tim Terpark, with whom Williams struck up a friendship, was one of the soldiers of an Army armored unit that provided security around the aircraft.

Miller, Reynolds and Mike O’Keeffe told Stars and Stripes they all recall NBC reporting that Williams was aboard the aircraft that was attacked, despite the claim being false. The NBC online archive shows the network broadcast a news story on March 26, 2003, with the headline, “Target Iraq: Helicopter NBC’s Brian Williams Was Riding In Comes Under Fire.”

Stars And Stripes also noted that Williams’ story has “been repeated by the network for years.” You can watch him telling it on “The Late Show With David Letterman” in 2013 here.

In his broadcast Wednesday, Williams, who has won a Polk and a Peabody for his news reporting, admitted his mistake.

“I said I was traveling in an aircraft that was hit by RPG fire,” he said. “I was instead in a following aircraft. We all landed after the ground fire incident and spent two harrowing nights in a sandstorm in the Iraqi desert.”

Drug Companies : Killing Kids For Profit

Clinically mandated insanity for children; admission to a "mental health facility" today for any reason is tantamount in most cases to a death sentence

By Dr. Stuart J. Bramhall

Thanks to the corporatization of health care, Americans pay double what other countries pay for health care but have much worse health. The recent Obamacare roll-out has heightened public awareness about the role of private insurance companies in sucking billions of health dollars out of the health care system. There is far less scrutiny of the role of Big Pharma in driving up health care costs.

This is the second of several posts on “disease mongering” by pharmaceutic companies – i.e. the invention of fictitious diseases to market drugs that supposedly treat them.

Practicing psychiatry for eight years in New Zealand has given me a unique perspective on childhood bipolar disorder. Also known as pediatric bipolar disorder (PBD), this is a condition virtually unknown outside of the US. Australian psychiatrist Dr. Peter Parry has undertaken detailed research into this condition, and a “conspiracy” by Eli Lilly and other drug companies to promote off-label use of antipsychotic drugs to children under 12. Yet another example of “disease mongering” by Big Pharma (see link) to encance their profits.

As well as publishing numerous papers on the PBD controversy, Parry also has a Powerpoint presentation he gives at grand rounds and conferences around the world. It includes internal Lilly and Janssen memos (available from his Healthy Skepticism website) about their innovative campaign to “medicalize” children’s misbehavior.

Thanks to their aggressive marketing of PBD to US doctors and parents, American children as young as two are being started on antipsychotics for extreme anger and behavioural problems.

Breaking the Law: Good Business Practice

Prescribing “off-label” refers to using medication for an indication that hasn’t been approved by the FDA. As yet no antipsychotics have been approved for use in children.

Moreover, it violates federal law for drug companies to market medications to doctors or the public for “off-label” uses.

Yet because the fines imposed are minuscule, compared to the massive profit potential of off-label marketing, it’s considered good business practice to pay the fine and keep on doing it anyway.

Diagnostic Criteria for Bipolar Disorder

Parry’s slideshow starts with studies comparing US attitudes about BPD in the UK, Germany, New Zealand and Australia.

Most foreign psychiatrists either don’t recognize pediatric bipolar disorder as a diagnosis or regard it as extremely rare.

According to Parry, the discrepancy revolves mainly around an insistence (outside the US) that both children and adults manifest symptoms of true mania to be diagnosed bipolar.

Over the past 10-15 years, an increasing number of industry-funded psychiatric researchers have been claiming that extreme temper outbursts, rages and rapidly changing moods are a “manic” equivalent in children.

They also claim that children with extreme mood swings will go on to develop true bipolar illness in adulthood, making early treatment essential.

This despite studies showing that most kids with PBD “outgrow” it as adults. (Although it seems more likely they never had it to begin with.)

What Parry finds particularly horrifying is that American child psychiatrists are diagnosing kids bipolar and starting them on antipsychotics without taking a developmental history to rule out the most common cause of extreme anger and behavioral problems – namely child abuse and attachment difficulties.

Putting Psychiatric Experts on the Payroll

That being said, he puts the blame for the dangerous fad of prescribing unapproved antipsychotic drugs for children squarely where it belongs: on multinational drug companies.

In the US, most child psychiatrists are naturally uneasy prescribing dangerous antipsychotic medication for kids.

They have to be egged on by esteemed researchers issuing stern warnings about ruining a child’s future life by “missing” a the diagnosis of bipolar disorder.

Too bad these self-proclaimed PBD experts are so careless about disclosing conflicts of interest, in the form of hundreds of thousands of dollars in of drug company research grants and consultant fees.

This has only come out in subsequent lawsuits and ethical investigations.

Death and Other Dangerous Complications

The complications of antipsychotic treatment in children fall into four broad categories: death, severe medical complications, social exclusion and delayed emotional development.

1. Death

15 years of FDA adverse incident reports (which typically capture only 1% of adverse drug events) directly implicates antipsychotic use in children with scores of deaths:

2000-2004: 45 deaths (source)

2006: 29 deaths (source)

2. Severe Medical Complications

Antipsychotics tend to cause massive weight gain – often as much as 100 pounds – a common cause of diabetes. In addition a disfiguring neurological disorder called tardive dyskinesia that occurs in 6-9% of children who take antipsychotics. The tics and writhing movements associated with tardive dyskinesia often persist permanently, even after the medication is stopped.

3. Social Exclusion

Labeling a child with a mental illness, particularly if they are taking a medications that cause sedation, extreme weight gain and/or tics has an extremely detrimental effect on social relationships that are absolutely vital to normal child development.

4. Delayed Emotional Development

Sedating a child who has difficulty regulating anger and extreme moods only further delays the process of learning to regulate their emotions themselves.

Here is a video from a mom whose son died from antipsychotic complications.

Yalta – 1945 Cannot Be Repeated In 2015

Following WWIII there will be no basis or need for negotiations

By Yury Rubstov

As the date is remembered, the picture of the 70 year-old event pops up right in front of my eyes. I can see the Livadiysky palace in Yalta on February 4, 1945. The three delegations representing the countries that founded the anti-Hitler’s coalition are about to take their seats. The agenda includes: the return to the traditions of irreconcilable fight against Nazism, the restoration of the United Nations role as the main instrument of international security, doing away with the attempts to destroy the post-WWII system of international law, the right of the peoples to make a free and democratic choice regarding their future, the preservation of memory and firm rejection of attempts to revise the history of WWII. The protocol service invites the participants to go to the balcony and take pictures before the session kicks off. The heads of delegations shake hands and occupy the seats. The armchairs seem to be familiar as one remembers the photos taken those days. Having become a bit out of fashion today, they still remind us of Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin.

Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin
What a pity it’s just a pipedream. Today the Yalta conference with the participation of the Big Three cannot be repeated for a number of reasons.

The main thing preventing such a possibility is the fact that the West has adopted the policy aimed at Russia’s isolation pushing it to the sidelines of forums discussing the global agenda. For this purpose it uses sanctions, excludes Russia from G8 to make it G7, suspends its activities in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and other international structures.

On February 1, 2015 US President Barack Obama emphasized his readiness to "impose higher costs" and "bring diplomatic pressure to bear on Moscow" in CNN’s interview. Johannes Hahn, the EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, is happy about the fall of Russian currency. He sees it as evidence testifying to the efficiency of sanctions. Today he represents the prevailing view in the West.

There are also people who understand that the deterioration of Russia’s economic situation will negatively affect the economy of Western states. In early January Sigmar Gabriel, German Vice-Chancellor, Economic Affairs and Energy Minister, sounded the warning bells saying more anti-Russian sanctions will "provoke an even more dangerous situation for all of us in Europe." Not once did the German Foreign Minister voice the same warning. Former Chancellor Helmut Kohl, a veteran of German and international politics, has also expressed his disagreement with the policy of the West aimed at isolating Russia. These warning have been largely ignored. US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says absurd things about "a revisionist Russia" and its "modern and capable army on NATO’s doorstep." The West is losing the ability to see the things as they are when it comes to Russia and the world. In his interview Obama emphasized that "given the size of the Russian military, given the fact that Ukraine is not a NATO country and so as a consequence there, you know, there are clear limits in terms of what we would do militarily." Will these reasons keep him away from taking steps which may entail disastrous consequences? Warsaw, Vilnius and Kiev are already dreaming about the possibility of exerting military pressure on Moscow.

There is one more factor to prevent the repetition of the 1945 Yalta events. The current US administration is incapable of making sound judgments when it comes to international issues. Washington cannot make allies. It only breeds opponents and adversaries.

Winston Churchill said on June 22, 1941, "No one has been a more consistent opponent of Communism than I have for the last twenty-five years. I will unsay no words that I've spoken about it. But all this fades away before the spectacle which is now unfolding." He added, "If Hitler imagines that his attack on Soviet Russia will cause the slightest division of aims or slackening of effort in the great democracies, which are resolved upon his doom, he is woefully mistaken. On the contrary, we shall be fortified and encouraged in our efforts to rescue mankind from his tyranny». The British leader noted that «His invasion of Russia is no more than a prelude to an attempted invasion of the British Isles». According to Churchill, «The Russian danger is therefore our danger and the danger of the United States.»

Roosevelt saw things the same way. He believed that fascism was an absolute evil and it was necessary to cooperate with the Soviet Union to fight it. Talking to Joseph E. Davies, the US Ambassador to the Soviet Union, he said, «I can't take communism nor can you, but to cross this bridge I would hold hands with the Devil.» The current US President renders support to the Ukraine’s Neo-Nazi regime which is influenced by the ideology espoused by those who collaborated with Hitlerites. America has gone a long way down from Roosevelt to Obama. The same has happened to Great Britain as the difference between Winston Churchill and Cameron strikes an eye. The latter one has recently joined Obama saying the anti-Russian sanctions were needed to be in force until Russia "changes its behaviour and stops the aggression in Ukraine". The West does not understand that there are many problems in the world and it’s unthinkable to find solutions to them without Russia. Indirectly Americans seem to realize it as they continue to cooperate with the Russian Federation on Afghanistan, Syria, the fight against international terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. But what makes American President think that Russia would continue to cooperate on some issues and agree to be kept away when it comes to tackling others?

The difference between the US and UK politicians then, who were great historic figures, and those who lead these countries nowadays is clear for all to see. Talking candidly the current Western leaders don’t even hold a candle to Churchill and Roosevelt. Being anti-Communists did not prevent them from giving the devil his due recognizing the contribution of Red Army into the victory over Nazism. On September 27, 1944, British Prime Minister Churchill wrote to Stalin, «I shall take the occasion to repeat tomorrow in the House of Commons what I have said before, that it is the Russian Army that tore the guts out of the German military machine and is at the present moment holding by far the larger portion of the enemy on its front». «The Red Army and the Russian people have surely started the Hitler forces on the road to ultimate defeat and have earned the lasting admiration of the people of the United States» wrote Roosevelt on February 23, 1943 congratulating the Red Army on its twenty-fifth anniversary.

Can anybody imagine a contemporary Western leader saying anything like that?

Russian President Vladimir Putin did not take part in a ceremony in Poland marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi Auschwitz. They did not sent him an invitation. What a shame! He is the head of the state which is a successor to the Soviet Union. Red Army liberated Auschwitz and about half of Europe. This fact speaks for itself. Today the West is not able to recognize that without the Soviet Union there would have been no unconditional surrender of fascist Germany, no crushing defeat suffered by Japan, no post-war European borders the West wants to change so much. It did it in former Yugoslavia.

This is the case when ingratitude is mixed with the complex of inferiority. They are right saying that the anti-Russia sanctions are a reaction to Obama’s low rating. Can anyone imagine President Roosevelt flirt with political opponents or trying to hike his rating among conservatives by, say, curtailing land-lease programs for the Soviet Union – the US WWII ally? It brings to mind another President of the United States. Harry Truman believed that he did not need the USSR after Germany was defeated. In May 1945 he tried to stop the military supplies. Then he was made remember (not by Moscow but by those who belonged to Washington’s corridors of power) that there was a war against Japan going on and the burden could be unbearable for the United States in case the Soviet Union decided to stay away.

The current Western leaders thoughtlessly squander the legacy of Yalta left by the Big Three Alliance that saved the world from total enslavement by Nazism 70 years ago. It was the principle of equality that enabled the Alliance to act effectively. Today the world faces no less serious challenges. The West’s attempts to isolate Russia may make the contemporary problems insurmountable.

Leaving a comment on the decision not to invite President Putin to Auschwitz one of the bloggers wrote that former inmates would come to be met by the people of the same nationalities: Germans, Poles, Ukrainians (Banderites), but there would be no Russians. It would mean that there is no guarantee the 70 year-old events would not be repeated with new crematoria ovens, gas chambers, lamp-shades made of human skin.

Today it’s important for the world to avert this threat.

30,000 Troops, 6 Rapid Units : NATO Increases Military Power In Eastern Europe

Obama, NATO begin preparations for WWIII; Europe slated to become world's largest irradiated parking lot, UK will cease to exist

The NATO Response Force in Europe might increase to 30,000 troops from the current 13,000, said the alliance’s secretary general ahead of a defense ministers meeting in Brussels. Most of the RDF troops are set to be stationed near to Russia’s borders.

“I expect that the ministers will agree on several important elements of a package that increases our collective defense,” said Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg on the eve of a meeting of the alliance’s 28 defense ministers at NATO headquarters in Brussels.

The UK has already announced plans to deploy 1,000 troops and four multirole Typhoon fighter jets to join the Response Force in Eastern Europe. The spearhead of that force will be 5,000 servicemen, distributed among six compact command centers in Eastern Europe, with about only 50 officers in each.

"It is a response to what we have seen from Russia over a period of time and it is in full accordance with our international obligations," NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters.

These six Rapid Deployment Force units to be stationed in Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Romania are expected to be capable of rapidly reinforcing the region” in response to any threat from Russia,” Reuters reports.

“In Ukraine, violence is getting worse and the crisis is deepening. Russia continues to disregard international rules and to support the separatists,” Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters before the meeting.

When necessary, this force could be deployed in two days. The remaining 25,000 will be operational within a week.

Last September, Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania agreed to form a joint military force (LitPolUkrBrig) to take part in the first joint military drill in 2015.

The Ukrainian parliament ratified the document on Wednesday.

The brigade of approximately 4,500 servicemen (3,500 – Polish, 545 – Ukrainian and up to 350 Lithuanians) is slated to become the UN and EU peacekeeping force, or alternatively form a basis of a NATO battle group in the region bordering Russia.

The purpose of creating that kind of an international brigade raises concerns, Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Aleksandr Lukashevich said at a media briefing on Thursday.

Ukraine’s internal conflict has already been internationalized to a great extent and adding the element of joint armed forces to it is absolutely counterproductive and would endanger the situation in the region, Lukashevich said.

The alliance significantly boosted its presence in Eastern Europe last year, citing a growing threat from Russia in the wake of the Ukrainian crisis.

Today, despite the fact that NATO suspended all military cooperation with Russia in 2014, the alliance is keeping open channels with Russian authorities “for political contacts,” Stars and Stripes reported.

On Saturday, Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg is expected to meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the annual Munich security conference.

We have already discussed in the first part of this analysis how the American geography dooms whoever controls the territory to being a global power, but there are a number of other outcomes that shape what that power will be like. The first and most critical is the impact of that geography on the American mindset.
