WAYNE MADSEN : A Soros "Trojan Horse" Inside The New Greek Government?

Greece the first dislodged brick in the wall of the crumbling, dying EU done in by criminal bankers, the IMF and Merkel Nazis

By Wayne Madsen

As Greece celebrates the inauguration of its anti-austerity government, the euphoria should be tempered with a bit of realism. Although new Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, who named his son "Ernesto" after Cuban revolutionary Ernesto "Ché" Guevara, and the vast majority of his new Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA) government have good left-wing and pro-labor credentials, the same cannot be necessarily said of the man Tsipras chose to be Greece’s new finance minister. Yanis Varoufakisis a citizen of Australia who was educated in Britain and worked as a professor at the University of Texas. Europe has witnessed such dual nationals with conflicting loyalties take power in countries in Eastern Europe, most notably in Ukraine, where American Natalie Jaresko became finance minister in order to deliver International MonetaryFund (IMF) and European Central Bank (ECB) austerity "poison pills" to Ukraine.

Today, the nations of eastern and central Europe are populated with globalists, overt types and those of the "crypto" variety, with many of them, like Varoufakis, citizens or past legal residents of other nations. Romania’s finance minister, Ioana Petrescu, is a Wellesley and Harvard graduate and former fellow for the U.S. Republican Party’s National Republican Institute at the neo-conservative and anti-Russian American Enterprise Institute (AEI). She is also a past professor at the University of Maryland.

Although Petrescu’s right-wing connections to Washington appear at odds with Varoufakis’s ties to the neo-liberal Brookings Institution, in the world of "make believe" political differences, Petrescu and Varoufakis are two sides of the same coin. When one follows the money that helped create these two finance ministers, as well as Jaresko, all roads lead back to Washington and entities that suckle from the teat of the Central Intelligence Agency and its myriad of front entities.

Varoufakis’s curriculum vitae, like that of Jaresko’s, reeks of George Soros-intertwined globalist links. For a finance minister who is to -- if we believe the dire warnings from the corporate press -- challenge the austerity measures dictated to Greece’s previous failed conservative and social democratic governments by the "Troika" of the IMF, ECB, and European Commission, Varoufakis has had a past close relationship with the global entities with which he is expected to battle.

Varoufakis also served as "economist-in-residence" for the Valve Corporation, a video game spinoff of the always-suspect Microsoft Corporation of extreme globalist Bill Gates.

The warning signs that Varoufakis is a "Trojan Horse" for the global bankers are abundant. First, Varoufakis served as an economic adviser to the failed PASOK social democratic government of Prime Minister George Papandreou, the man who first put Greece on the road to draconian austerity measures. Varoufakis now claims that he was ardently opposed to Papandreou’s deal with the "Troika" but no one will ever know how much the now-anti austerity finance minister agreed to while he was advising Papadreou on the proper course of action to settle Greece’s enormous debt problem.

Varoufakis is a close friend and co-author of American economist and fellow University of Texas professor James K. Galbraith, the son of the late "eminence grise" of American economists, John Kenneth Galbraith. Galbraith’s ties to the global banking elite are exemplified by his guest scholar position at the elitist Brookings Institution in Washington. In other words, although Tsipras’s biography suggests a bona fide leftist, Varoufakis’s background indicates that Greece’s new finance minister is at home and comfortable with the banker elites who carved out Greece’s national soul with a sharp blade of austerity cuts to social security, public health, and other basic public services.

The foreword to Varoufakis’s book, "A Modest Proposal," which deals with Europe’s financial crisis and which he co-wrote with James Galbraith and former British Member of Parliament Stuart Holland, was written by former French Prime Minister Michael Rocard. Rocard has called for the EU to appoint a European "strongman" and Rocard’s choice is European Parliament president Martin Schulz, the very same man who has warned the new SYRIZA government to abide by the austerity agreements concluded by the past PASOK and conservative governments.

Holland, an adviser to former Greek Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou, along with French President François Mitterand, helped craft the 1986 Single European Act, one of the charters that helped create the European Union financial system that has been used to emaciate the Greek economy in the name of austerity.

Varoufakis’s commitment to work within the IMF and European banking system is obvious from what the Greek finance minister wrote on his website. After calls by American financial writers Paul Krugman and Mark Weisbrot for Greece to follow the example of Argentina and default on its debts and exit the Eurozone altogether, Varoufakis argues that Greece must "grin and bear" the measures imposed on it by the bankers and the German government as a member of the Eurozone. And that means the SYRIZA finance minister surrendered to the whims of the bankers long before SYRIZA’s electoral victory. Considering the unquestionable leftist credentials of many members of the Greek government, the bankers have, at the very least, a willing accomplice as finance minister on the Greek side of the negotiating table on the future of the nation’s economy and the unpopular Troika-imposed austerity measures that swept SYRIZA to power.

Although Varoufakis stands ready to cut deal after deal with the global and European bankers, his colleagues in the coalition government SYRIZA crafted with the anti-EU but right-wing Independent Greeks party, will not follow EU diktats when it comes to such matters as agreeing to continued austerity, as well as EU sanctions against Russia. No sooner had Tsipras become prime minister, he criticized the EU for issuing a warning about further sanctions against Russia over Ukraine. Tsipras said an anti-Russia European Council statement had been issued without the consent of Greece.

Greece’s new foreign minister, Nikos Kotzias, is, like Varoufakis, an academic. However, unlike Varoufakis, Kotzias, a former Communist, has been a professor at a Greek, not a foreign, university. Kotzias and Tsipras are following through with their promises of opposing current and future EU sanctions against Russia, something that will not endear them to the Soros elements who have their clutches on Varoufakis. Kotzias has the power to veto new or renewed sanctions against Russia. Kotzias is opposed to German domination over Europe and was such a staunch Communist, he supported the crackdown by Polish Communist leader Wojciech Jaruzelski on the Solidarity trade union movement in Poland in the 1980s, a fact that places him at complete loggerheads with EU Polish President Donald Tusk, an early activist within the Solidarity movement, who wants to impose further punitive measures on Russia. In what can only send EU and NATO interventionists into a tail spin, Kotzias will find himself more at home in Moscow than he will in Brussels or Berlin. Russian President Vladimir Putin has already started the process of establishing close relations with the new government in Athens. The U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) has likely commenced "surge" surveillance of all official communications links between Athens and Moscow and it has also certainly placed Greece, like Russia, Turkey, Brazil, Hungary, Venezuela, Iran, Syria, and Lebanon into the category of a hostile "target" nation for the purposes of collecting signals intelligence or "SIGINT."

Greece, which pioneered the Trojan horse weapon used against Troy, must be on guard against Trojan horses like Varoufakis who have been implanted in the new Greek government.

America’s War In Afghanistan Is Over … Or Is It?

Simply ask the U.S. military personnel that continue to die in this illegal, immoral, lost "war" - or the families of the dead still arriving in the U.S., unreported and covered up by the "mainstream media" who helped put them there in the first place with their lies and war-shilling propaganda

By Catherine Shakdam

The United States would have you know that it’s war in Afghanistan has finally come to a successful end … or “responsible end” as US President Barack Obama so elegantly put it.

Speaking from his holiday residence in Hawaii, President Obama told an expecting American nation that their boys were on their way home, 13 years after they set out to drive out terror from the face of the earth.

Only no one is coming home and radicalism remains very much alive. If anything the world stands a far worse place than a decade ago.

This victorious home-coming President Obama offered America for Christmas remains for all intents and purposes semantic.

While no US troops will be “officially” engaging the enemy – a term it needs to be noted which has been loosely used by the Allies and include whatever and whoever opposes western powers’ will in the region – American soldiers will continue to be arrayed across Afghanistan for many years to come.

The United States is not divesting its military interests in Asia either, rather it is shifting all tactical responsibility to Afghanistan, making Kabul the sole bearer of military responsibility.

America’s war in Afghanistan is not over at all, it is merely entering a new tactical stage.

In truth, Uncle Sam was never going to just pack up and leave Afghanistan, it only needed to find a new framework within which deniability and responsibility could be used and abused as warm security blankets, shielding Washington from any unforeseen repercussions.

As of January 1st, US troops will operate under their new NATO moniker: Operation Resolute Support. NATO’s new role and scope of activities in Afghanistan have been defined in the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), a military cooperation treaty which was signed by newly elected Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and NATO’s Senior Civilian Representative to Afghanistan, Ambassador Maurits Jochems on September 30, 2014, ahead of any US withdrawal.

If ever anyone was in doubt of the sheer level of instability Afghanistan has had to grapple with since the Pentagon declared war on terror January 1st was marked by a bloody Taliban attack in the Helmand province.

As officials gathered in Kabul to celebrate Afghanistan’s military emancipation from NATO, Taliban insurgents targeted a wedding party in Sangin – a city located south of the capital Kabul – The mortar attack claimed the lives of an estimated 29 people, including women and children.

At the same time Afghan President hailed NATO’s handover a national achievement, telling his audience, “I want to congratulate my people today. Afghan forces are now able to take full security responsibility in protecting their country’s soil and sovereignty. In the past 13 years, due to the problems in the region and the world, this security was a joint responsibility.

Now it belongs only to Afghans. But we are not alone, we have our allies we must work with,” Taliban militants made sure to remind all what terrible threat they continue to pose the impoverished and war-torn nation.

At such a time when Afghanistan appears to be reclaiming control of its sovereignty, no longer the ward of the international community, experts have warned that such independence runs only skin deep.

“For all intents and purposes, Afghanistan remains a country under occupation”, said political analyst Aref Abu Hatem, adding, “Afghanistan is no closer from controlling its institutions than Washington is from defeating terror. We have inherited a disbanded mercenary army which the state cannot possibly maintain on its own. If anything NATO has locked Kabul into a financial trap to better assert control and defend its interests in the region.”

This concept that Afghanistan has remained but a pawn in the Great Game, a proxy which foreign powers have used and abused to their own benefit has been at the center of many debates over the years, a recurrent theme among analysts.

Former President Hamid Karzai, the very man whom has often been referred to as Washington’ strategic ally in Central Asia highlighted such sentiments in his farewell speech last September when he declared, “The war in Afghanistan is to the benefit of foreigners. But Afghans on both sides are the sacrificial lambs and victims of this war.”

Mohsen Kia, a political analyst based in Tehran believes that Karzai’s virulent critic of the United States actually encapsulate Afghan’s heavy resentment towards western powers. “President Karzai put his finger on an issue which has long troubled Afghanistan. Afghans do not feel in charge of their own fate. Rather they feel trapped by powers greater than own, which play by rules they can neither comprehend nor oppose,” he noted.

He added, “Just as Afghans felt trapped and suffocated under British and Russian rule, they have come to understand the United States as yet another imperialistic power. In all fairness Washington has done little to disperse such sentiments. Everything the U.S. has done over the past 13 years has been done in the Pentagon’s interests, not the Afghans … even though it was sold this way.”

While US officials have rebuked the idea that America has increasingly developed imperialistic traits over the decade, arguing instead that the United States has been but a positive influence on the world, forever democracy’s champion amid the rising radical tide, many have begged to differ.

On December 28, US President Obama emphasized America’s positive influence onto Afghanistan, stressing in a written statement, “Our courageous military and diplomatic personnel in Afghanistan — along with our NATO allies and coalition partners — have helped the Afghan people reclaim their communities, take the lead for their own security, hold historic elections and complete the first democratic transfer of power in their country’s history.”

But where US officials find collateral damages and civilian casualties justifiable in the light of their greater ambitions, others have seen the footprint of an neo-imperial power which suffers no challenge to its rule.

Back in March 2012, when US army staff sergeant Robert Bales was found guilty of killing 16 Afghan civilians in a murderous rampage, America manifested classic imperial behavior by refusing to subject its soldier to Afghan law, even though Bales had clearly operated beyond the scope of his military mandate. After all, one prime prerogative of all empires is that it is subject to no laws or accountability other than its own, even when it comes to crimes committed on other nations’ soil and against its people.

As an imperial power, the US believes that no other country – including those its invades and occupies – can ever impose accountability on Americans. There lies the very essence of imperialism and whether Washington cares to admit it or not, its officials have displayed all its attributes.

Whistleblower Who Exposed CIA Nuclear Sabotage Operation Convicted Under Espionage Act

Only Americans have the power now to halt this evil in it's tracks and yet they look the other way in the hope that it will not be "them" next, and fiddle as the modern day Rome that is the U.S. burns to the ground in a CIA-set conflagration fuelled by a bonfire of the few left who dare to speak the truth

By Thomas Gaist

Former Central Intelligence Agency officer Jeffrey Sterling was found guilty of violating the 1917 Espionage Act Monday for providing information to theNew York Times regarding covert operations conducted by the CIA against Iran. Sterling was convicted of nine felonies including illegally possessing and transferring secret government information. He could receive up to 100 years in prison after sentencing in late April.

Sterling allegedly spoke to Risen about the CIA efforts, codenamed Operation Merlin, as part of research for Risen’s 2006 book State of War. Operation Merlin sought to sabotage Iran’s nuclear program by selling the Iranian government flawed nuclear reactor blueprints through a foreign intermediary.

Risen resisted years-long efforts by the Justice Department to force him to testify against Sterling, stating that he would accept a prison term before doing so.

The Obama administration dropped its efforts to coerce Risen once prosecutors became convinced they could convict Sterling without Risen taking the stand.

CIA officers who did testify in the case were concealed behind a dark screen. The federal prosecution team never introduced evidence that Sterling even spoke directly to Risen about the Iran operations. The only correspondence between the two presented to the court related to a separate issue.

Sterling informed the Senate Intelligence Committee in 2003-04 about CIA operations against Iran, and the leak could have originated from Senate staffers, Sterling’s defense attorney argued, pointing to the prosecution’s lack of direct evidence.

The case represents yet another victory for the Obama administration’s assault on investigative journalism, including the secret wiretapping of the Associated Press to identify “leakers” and the prosecution of Chelsea (Bradley) Manning for providing information to WikiLeaks. The administration has prosecuted more cases under the Espionage Act than all previous presidential administrations combined.

The Obama administration’s surveillance and prosecution of journalists has produced a “chilling effect,” with sources in the government and corporate bureaucracies suddenly going silent, according to leading journalists. As Risen noted in an interview with the Times last August, President Obama is “the greatest enemy to press freedom in a generation.” The Obama administration is “going to bring these cases continuously to demonstrate that type of conduct by a government employee or a government contractor is going to be prosecuted,” a prominent New York lawyer told the Washington Post, referring to Sterling’s conviction.

Attorney General Eric Holder responded by declaring that Sterling’s conviction was the “just and appropriate outcome” of the trial. Sterling’s communications with Risen “placed lives at risk” and represented “an egregious breach of the public trust,” Holder said.

In essence, Sterling has been convicted for allegedly leaking information about illegal CIA covert operations, that is, for helping expose a criminal conspiracy orchestrated at the highest levels of government.

Holder, on the other hand, has committed grave crimes against the US Constitution. While serving on behalf of President Obama, Holder has overseen the destruction of central elements of the US Constitution, including the right to due process and protection from arbitrary searches and seizures. The attorney general will be known above all for his arguments in favor of the right of the president to assassinate US citizens without any legal procedure.

White House Wants $1.2 Billion To Fight Antibiotic - Resistant Bacteria, "Looming" Superbug Epidemic

It's not enough just to pauperise, terrorise American citizens; now Obama is in the final phase of looting to the last thin dime as hospitals, once the place of modern healing and medical miracles are now once again becoming the charnel houses of the 1800's

The White House has called for increased investment to fight antibiotic-resistant bacteria to prevent resurgent diseases once thought eradicated and new superbugs that similarly gain strength thanks to the modern penchant for profligate antibiotic use.

Magnified MRSA
President Obama will ask the US Congress to nearly double funding that combats antibiotic resistance to $1.2 billion, the White House announced Tuesday, calling the matter “one of the most pressing public health issues facing the world today.”

The announcement was a follow-up to an executive order the president signed in September that launched efforts against antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

The proposal called for funding research into new antibiotics, increased monitoring of infection outbreaks, new resistance efforts at veterans’ and military hospitals, and efforts to curb antibiotic overprescription.

Countering antibiotic resistance currently costs the American healthcare system between $21 billion and $34 billion each year, according to the Infectious Diseases Society of America.

As with "bird flu" Ebola didn't cut it, so now it's
on to MRSA once again in the Obama game of
musical medical scares
“Antibiotic resistance limits our ability to perform a range of modern medical procedures from joint replacements to organ transplants, the safety of which depends on our ability to treat bacterial infections that can arise as post-surgical complications,” a White House statement said.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 23,000 American die every year from infections that can overpower top-shelf antibiotics. The situation portends a dark future if antibiotics cannot keep pace -- or the overuse of current antibodies is not addressed -- with the global spread of germs resistant to antibiotics.

“Judicious use of antibiotics is essential to slow the emergence of antibiotic resistance in bacteria and extend the useful lifetime of effective antibiotics,” the White House acknowledged. “Preserving the usefulness of antibiotic resources without compromising human or animal health requires coordination, cooperation, and engagement of healthcare providers, healthcare leaders, pharmaceutical companies, veterinarians, the agricultural and pet industries, and patients.”

The increased spending would go to the National Institutes of Health and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority.

MSM whores performing on cue in never-ending
terror "reporting"
“If we continue along the line of more and more microbes becoming antibiotic resistant, we could be faced with a situation where we have untreatable infections,” said Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “Talk about setting back the clock. That’s bad news.”

In December, a study known as the Review into Antimicrobial Resistance, warned that superbugs with a high resistance to antibiotics could kill 10 million people worldwide each year by 2050 unless more action is taken.

The figure is higher than the global impact of cancer, which currently kills 8.2 million. Microbial resistance will impact poorer nations the most, the study reaffirmed.

Last fall, Obama’s executive order established steps the US would take to combat antibiotic resistance.

The order set aside $800 million in extra funding for companies to develop new drugs, as well as $900 million for further research.

The plan also prohibits farmers from employing antibiotics on livestock for growth purposes, but critics say it does not go nearly as far as it needs to.

In 2011, the US Food and Drug Administration confirmed that 80 percent of all antibiotics used in the United States are dedicated to animal agriculture.

With livestock consuming the vast majority of antibiotics, the bacteria found inside the animals gradually develop resistance against the drugs when they are not administered in strong enough doses – meaning they also become much harder to treat in humans, if and when the bacteria are transferred.

We have already discussed in the first part of this analysis how the American geography dooms whoever controls the territory to being a global power, but there are a number of other outcomes that shape what that power will be like. The first and most critical is the impact of that geography on the American mindset.

On October 12, 2002 the Indonesian island of Bali experienced a terrorist attack that rocked the world. It was unquestionably well-coordinated and executed, the largest in the country's history.
