Elbe Meeting : 70 Years After

Obama criminals, JCS shit on the sacrifices of our military and their memory

The first contact between American and Soviet patrols occurred near Strehla (Torgau, Leipzig area) after First Lieutenant Albert Kotzebue of US 69th infantry division crossed the River Elbe in a boat with three men of an intelligence and reconnaissance platoon.

U.S. and Russian forces link up on the Elbe
On the east bank they met forward elements of a Soviet Guards rifle regiment of the First Ukrainian Front, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Gardiev.

The same day, another patrol under Second Lieutenant William Robertson with Frank Huff, James McDonnell and Paul Staub met a Soviet patrol commanded by Lieutenant Alexander Silvashko on the destroyed Elbe bridge of Torgau. The picture of smiling officers ("Handshake of Torgau") went around the whole world.

The meeting was planned. On April 21, Dwight Eisenhower, Supreme Commander Allied Expeditionary Force (SCAEF) suggested in a conversation with Soviet Chief of Staff General A. I. Antonov that the allied soldiers meet at the Elbe and Mulde rivers. Having received an approval from Stalin, Antonov agreed and notified the commanders of the 1st and 2d Belorussian and 1st Ukrainian fronts (Marshalls Georgy Zhukov, Konstantin Rokossovsky, Ivan Konev). The allies worked out a system of identification friend of foe. U.S. 69th Infantry Division Commander Major General Emil F. Reinhardt and his Russian counterpart, Major-General Vladimir V. Rusakov, Commanding Officer of the 58th Guards Division, held a meeting. General Aleksei Semenovich Zhadov, the Commanding Officer of the 5th Guards Mechanized Division, organized a reception in honor of the 1st US Army Commander General Courtney Hicks Hodges.

There was no intrigue or political games. The soldiers did justice to each other and showed mutual respect. General Omar Bradley, the commander of the 12th Army Group, said at the reception organized by Marshall Konev, "Our people were watching in admiration the achievements of glorious Red Army. My soldiers tried to follow the example of the 1st Ukrainian Front."

In April-May 1945 the Red Army and its allies also met in other areas of Germany. There was nothing to cause any divisions between the allies. The German leadership entertained a dim hope for a conflict sparked between allies as a result of failure to divide occupied territory. The hopes were dashed.

Hitler had his own political considerations. He wanted to bolster the Berlin defenses at the expense of Western Front. Colonel-General Alfred Jodl, head of German General Staff, talked over conjecturally the possibility of letting Americans do what they want while concentrating efforts on the defenses of Berlin.

The Soviet command knew that Germans cherished hopes for divisions in the allied ranks. The many attempts undertaken by Germans to achieve an arrangement with the British and Americans were positively responded to. Marshall Zhukov issued a directive to the troops. It said "Meeting British and American soldiers the following rules must be observed:

1. The senior officer must immediately get in touch with his counterpart to delineate the sectors according to the instructions received from high command. It’s forbidden to share any information on operational planning.

2. There must be no initiatives on organizing meetings of friendship. The behavior must be amiable. Accept invitations and send your representatives to the meetings. Any invitations must be immediately reported. The permissions must be given at least at the level of Corps commander. Officers and generals assigned for taking part in the meetings must be thoroughly instructed on the rules of conduct in accordance with this directive. Special attention must be given to guarding military secrets.

3. Discipline and order must be observed on all occasions."

After April 25, the US and UK allies concentrated on wiping out the remaining centers of resistance and taking prisoners. It was different for the Soviet forces. The 1st Belorussian and the 1st Ukrainian fronts had to defeat powerful concentrations of enemy’s forces encircled near and to the south of Berlin. The 9th Army and other formations deployed to the south of German capital were 200 thousand strong with over 300 tanks and self-propelled guns and over 2 thousand artillery pieces and mortars. The Soviet forces had the same number of tanks, three times more personnel, and four times more artillery pieces. But they had to overcome fierce resistance. The battle ahead was no bed of roses.

The 1st Ukrainian Front had to prevent the 9th Army from advance to the west. At the same time it took part in the battle of Berlin. It was assigned the mission of liberating Berlin together with the 1st Belorussian Front under the command of Marshall Zhukov which broke German defenses at the Seelow Heights to strike Berlin from the west and simultaneously encircle the enemy from the north having reached the Elbe. At midnight, on April 25, just a few hours before the Elbe meeting the 47th Army met the 4th Tank Guards Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front. The final countdown started.

The Elbe meeting of comrades-in-arms fighting the same enemy was a historic event. But differences remained. They became more visible as the end of war was approaching. The spirit of Elbe was to larger extent the result of soldiers’ diplomacy than efforts of politicians.

Thousands of Russian soldiers were shedding blood near Berlin to bring closer the end of war and save lives of US and British servicemen. At the very same time Winston Churchill gave an order to work out a plan of war against the Soviet Union (Operation Unthinkable) to impose on Moscow the will of the United States and the British Empire! The Red Army’s ally held a stone inside his shirt.

George W. Bush Calls Out Obama On Iran, ISIS

Blithering, retarded, drunken war criminal calls the kettle black

CBN NEWS

Former President George W. Bush said President Barack Obama is being naive about Iran and his nuclear deal with that country.

Bush also said Obama is losing the war against ISIS.

Bloomberg News reports the former president made those remarks in a closed-door meeting with Jewish donors Saturday night.

Bush also said that Obama was putting the U.S. in "retreat" around the world. He said he thought the nuclear deal with Iran would be bad for American security over the long term, and that it would make the Middle East even more chaotic.

"You think the Middle East is chaotic now? Imagine what it looks like for our grandchildren. That's how Americans should view the deal,"BloombergView quoted the former president.

"In order to be an effective president ... when you say something you have to mean it," Bush said.

Indonesia Executes Drug Traffickers, Sparks Anger From Australia, Brazil

Elephant-eared, anteater-nosed PM can take the blame; first for supporting drug-trafficing dirtbags, then insulting the Indonesian judiciary by levelling spurious charges of corruption, somehow reasoning that this would elicit a positive response: With vast oil and natural resources Indonesia needs neither country, nor does it need their druggies and pedophiles to support the tourism industry

CILACAP, Indonesia -

An Indonesian firing squad executed eight drug traffickers, including seven foreigners, in the early hours of Wednesday, sparking condemnation from Australia and Brazil who had made final, desperate pleas to save their nationals.

Tony Abbot: Mindless asshole
The mass execution cements the hard line on enforcing the death penalty adopted by Indonesian President Joko Widodo as part of his war on drugs, an approach criticized by the United Nations as applying double-standards. Four Nigerians, two Australians, a Brazilian and an Indonesian were executed in a forest clearing near the prison, as family members held a candle-light vigil within earshot of the firing range.

"All eight were executed at the same second at 0035 hours," Indonesian Attorney General H.M. Prasetyo told reporters in Calicap, off the prison island of Nusakambangan in Central Java.

A ninth prisoner from the Philippines was spared at the last minute, apparently as part of a deal between Jakarta and Manila to seek more information and go after drug syndicates operating in the region.

Both Australia and Brazil oppose capital punishment and have railed against Widodo's move to step up the pace of executions, after a five-year moratorium, since coming to office last July.

Australia said it was recalling its ambassador to Jakarta, a step already taken by Brazil over the execution of another prisoner in January. The south American country is now considering what further action it will take.

Indonesia shrugged off Australia's diplomatic response. "It is just for a while, a month or two, to signify protest," Vice President Jusuf Kalla told reporters.

Drug smugglers were executed on Nusakambangan

Australia has deep commercial and political ties with its big neighbor, but has said the executions would not impact trade relations. Brazil, too, will be wary of jeopardizing valuable defense contracts.

Widodo's steadfastness on the executions, which has strong public support at home, stands in contrast to a series of policy flip-flops since he took office six months ago. Palace insiders and government officials portray him as sometimes out of his depth and struggling to get around entrenched vested interests.

NO BLINDFOLDS

Charlie Burrows, religious counselor to the Brazilian convict who was with the prisoners before their execution, said all eight had refused blindfolds before they were shot.

Their families lit candles as they watched the procession of cars taking the prisoners to the execution site, the Sydney Morning Herald reported, adding many became hysterical when gunshots rang out a short time later.

Once again Abbott blows it by attempting to strong-arm Indonesian government

"The good thing is all prisoners were executed together while praying and singing. Before that they hugged each other, saying goodbye," Christina Widiantarti, a lawyer for the Brazilian convict and a witness to the execution, said.

Rupert Colville, U.N. human rights spokesman in Geneva, criticized Jakarta's use of the death penalty.

"Indonesia appeals for clemency when its own nationals face execution in other countries, so it is incomprehensible why it absolutely refuses to grant clemency for lesser crimes on its own territory," he said.

MILITARY DEAL AT RISK

Recalling an ambassador is a step rarely taken by Australia, and never previously taken over a prisoner execution.

"We respect Indonesia's sovereignty but we do deplore what's been done and this cannot be simply business as usual," Prime Minister Tony Abbott told reporters in Canberra.

Abbot can keep his mindless, dirtbag druggie filth at home

"I want to stress that this is a very important relationship between Australia and Indonesia but it has suffered as a result of what's been done over the last few hours."

But he cautioned against a trade or tourism backlash.

While critical, Brazil, which has a $5 billion trade surplus with Southeast Asia's biggest economy, will also be wary of losing a major military export deal to Indonesia over the executions row.

The Brazilian government said in a statement it was shocked by the news, which marked the second execution of a Brazilian in Indonesia in three months despite President Dilma Rousseff’s personal humanitarian appeals.

There certainly will be no further "deals" with Indonesia until Australia gets rid of this ludicrous, doofus dipshit

Brazil’s foreign ministry said it was evaluating ties with Indonesia before deciding what action to take.

Indonesia said earlier it was reviewing the purchase of a second batch of Brazil-made Embraer EMB-314 Super Tucano aircraft and an order for multiple rocket launch systems after Brazil refused to allow Indonesia's new ambassador to take part in a credentials ceremony.

In Manila, Jose Rene Almendras, secretary to the Philippine cabinet, told reporters that the case against the Filipina took a dramatic turn just hours before her scheduled execution when a woman involved in the affair went to police in the Philippines.

Almendras said the two countries had a common interest in going after the bigger syndicates.

"I think both sides, both legal sides, have decided let's pursue this legal angle of not just hitting a mere courier and trying to go to the bigger root of the problem," he said.

Israel’s Nepal Rescue Mission : Infants Born To Israelis Via Surrogate Mothers

Rescues take precedence over Nepal quake victims

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL —

Israeli rescue planes delivering emergency workers and supplies to help victims of the earthquake in Nepal have returned to Israel with an unusual cargo: 26 infants who were born of surrogate mothers to gay Israeli couples and other nontraditional parents.

Israeli deviants could give a shit about
Nepalese quake victims
The rescue mission highlights the growing popularity of overseas surrogacy for Israeli couples who can afford it. It also raised questions about the safety of dozens of pregnant surrogates who remain in Nepal amid battered infrastructure and overwhelmed hospitals. The Israeli government has said it would admit the women to Israel to await the births.

Israelis who were in Nepal with their newborns tell harrowing tales of what happened when the earthquake struck Saturday shortly before noon local time.

Tal Bousidan was staying with his partner and their two new children in a seventh-floor apartment in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital.

“When the earthquake ended we grabbed the children and ran down seven floors with no shoes, no shirt, without food for the kids,” Bousidan said. “I was saying a prayer the whole way down.”

As he spoke to Israeli Channel 2 TV News in the backyard of the Israeli Embassy, video showed he was just one of a line of men clutching babies swaddled in white blankets.

Bousidan arranged for the birth of his children via Lotus Surrogacy, one of two Israeli companies that provide the service in Nepal. Lotus founder Dana Magdassi described a fraught weekend of coordinating the safe return of each of 10 babies conceived for her clients. The Israeli Embassy in Nepal has only three workers, she said, and hundreds of Israelis crowded its backyard, sleeping in tents in the cold night air.

Israelis act as though it's party time while taking up valuable resources and appropriating airspace critical to ongoing rescue and relief operations

“One baby, when Israeli rescue crews touched him, he was almost hypothermic because he was too cold,” she said. Eventually the embassy allowed the newborns and their parents to pack into a security room at night.

Magdassi’s clients described dire shortages of food and bottles for their infants. She sent extra supplies with Israeli rescue planes headed to Nepal.

The infants and their parents arrived Sunday, Monday and Tuesday on the return flights of the rescue aircraft.

Although Tel Aviv is one of the gay capitals of the world, Israeli law doesn’t allow same-sex couples to adopt or to have children via surrogates in their home country. So foreign surrogacy has boomed in Israel over the last decade, first in India – until it restricted the service to heterosexual couples – then in Nepal.

Israelis could care less about the thousands of dead, injured and starving Nepalese quake victims

Magdassi said surrogacy in Nepal could cost as little as a fifth of the price in America.

To create a child, Magdassi collects an egg from a donor either in Nepal or abroad and sperm from one of the prospective parents. In Nepal, the embryo is implanted in the womb of an Indian woman to bypass Nepalese prohibitions on surrogacy. The procedure costs $25,000 to $55,000, she said.

Magdassi said about 40 children had been born through Lotus Surrogacy since she began operating in Nepal last year. Legal experts in Israel say about 100 children a year are born via surrogates to Israeli parents.

Beyond the hurdles of surrogacy overseas, gay parents must overcome legal obstacles to bring their children to Israel. Ordinarily, Israel requires the parents of surrogate-born children to send DNA samples from the children to an Israeli hospital for testing. Adoptive parents can wait up to a month in Nepal while proving their children’s right to Israeli citizenship and passports.

As ultra-rich Israelis jet home in luxury with their ill-gotten children, the people of Nepal burn their dead

In 2010, Jerusalem bookstore owner Dan Goldberg was stranded in Bombay with his surrogate-born twin sons for more than three months before his lawyers forced Israeli authorities to allow him to take a paternity test.

Magdassi said seven of her 10 clients had received passports for their children before the earthquake; the others got an unprecedented fast track to Israel and will undergo DNA testing in Tel Aviv. In Israel, all the children will undergo conversion to Judaism and be raised as full Israelis.

With the babies safely in Israel, the surrogacy agencies are coping with pregnant women left behind. Paul Hirschson, a spokesman for Israel’s Foreign Ministry, said about 100 women in Nepal were pregnant with the children of Israeli parents.

Israel has agreed to allow the women to travel to Israel and deliver the children, Hirschson said.

Magdassi said most of the 30 women working for her agency didn’t have passports necessary to enter Israel. She’s pushing Israel to issue temporary travel documents.

In the meantime, Magdassi said she was heartbroken to see the devastation of Nepal but surprised at the patches of Kathmandu that were spared destruction – including her company’s lab.

“We opened the lab and we thought everything would be on the floor, but everything was in place,” she said.

Lotus Surrogacy even transferred an embryo to another surrogate mother Tuesday, she said.
