FERGUSON MEDIA MAYHEM : Corporate "News" Mauled Covering Riots

"Chickens come home to roost" for sensationalist MSM hacks as another night of rioting looms for Ferguson

Last night, Americans were treated to more non-stop "mainstream media" soap opera coverage of the pre-planned riots in Ferguson and were most likely appalled to witness on-camera corporate hacks once again crossing the line, actually contributing to the anarchy on the streets.

CNN's Sara Sidner takes a rock to the head
They were probably not surprised to see broadcast "journalists" having their cameras smashed and reporters being rocked. One broadcast station is blaming, accurately, attention-seeking rioters drawn by media coverage. Other corporate outlets blame the police and National Guard for being slow to respond and then backing off.

Both groups ignore the fact that their own "reporters" threw gas on the Ferguson fire in pursuit of the ratings major broadcast media has become addicted to, and what has recently become deadly self-promotion in the ":mainstream media."

Cable news stations this morning devolved into excuse-fests where morning show panels vied with each other to see who could come up with the best obfuscation and self-serving absolution for their partial responsibility in provoking the violence that has ensued on the streets of Ferguson.

For once, both sides are to a degree correct.  A good number of rioters are criminal opportunists from outside Ferguson, travelling to the city with the express intent of engaging in criminal activity.

Rioter with crossbow
Other individuals are mainly losers intent on becoming instant media rock stars - depending on the degree of destruction they are willing to commit to attract the attention of the cameras.

And for the first time in a long time, the rioters turned on the very media that was giving them the coverage they sought.

In crossing the very definitive line between objective, balanced coverage and sensationalist advocacy the "mainstream media" has abandoned the neutrality of responsible journalism and opened itself up to the retaliation that can be expected for taking a stated position of one side or the other.

Tonight could turn out to be a replay of last night, or worse in Ferguson.  It will remain to be seen if the "mainstream media" has learned any lessons.

“Heavy Automatic Gunfire” As Ferguson Burns

First CNN reports "over a hundred gunshots" - then backtracks in attempt to downplay Ferguson firestorm they and their resident racist Don Lemon and hysterical Jake Tapper initially fuelled with biased, sensationalist "coverage" - CNN should be held criminally liable and responsible for actions of their fraud hacks and propagandist shysters

Within moments of the announcement that Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson would not be charged for shooting robbery and assault suspect Michael Brown the first police car was set on fire by rioters.

Violent protests erupted for hours after it was announced that the grand jury has chosen not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the death of Michael Brown.

Officers reported heavy automatic gunfire in the area of W. Florissant and Canfield, police said. A University City police officer was shot at the intersection of Canton Avenue and Lamb Avenue, according to police.

Asst. Fire Chief Steve Fair with the Ferguson Fire Department said they found structure fires along the corridor of Florissant, West Florissant, and Halls Ferry roads.

“We have been fighting approximately 25 structure fires tonight, along with a car dealership where we lost 10 cars that were burned up,” said Fair.

News accounts are scattered and chaotic.

Ferguson cops first overreact, then stand back as rioters loot and burn at will

At least several dozen rioters have been arrested, and multiple news accounts are reporting that hundreds of shots fired. Fortunately there have not yet been any confirmed deaths.

Amusingly, one of the agitators who has been blaming the police for the violence had his phone stolen from him by another agitator while he was live-streaming the riots.

Opportunist prostitutes ply their trade in midst of chaos
Masri’s phone was one of hundreds if not thousands of items stolen during rioting, looting, and arson spree.

Last night was described as begin worst that the worst nights of rioting in August, and it may be much later in the day before we have an idea of just how bad the damage was to many area businesses.

Authorities released the grand jury evidence and statements after St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Bob McCulloch attempted to explain the reasoning for the verdict, including why of the “eyewitness accounts” that drove the August rioting and myth-making fell apart when alleged eyewitnesses admitted under oath that they didn’t actually see the shooting but were just repeating rumors when they were confronted with physical evidence that conflicted their stories. Among the other items of testimony from the grand jury investigation is the testimony of Police Officer Darren Wilson, who waived his Fifth Amendment rights to answer questions for the jury.

Wilson claimed that Brown attacked him in his vehicle and tried to take his gun, and then later was shot and killed as he attempted to charge the officer.

Wilson’s claim is backed by physical evidence including three autopsies, and eyewitness claims of a half-dozen eyewitnesses who claimed they saw Michael Brown advance upon Wilson as the Officer told him to stop.

Ebola Victims’ Bodies Left In Hospital Doorway By Protesting Burial Teams

Brilliant; definitely the best way to solve the problem

Bodies of Ebola victims have been dumped outside a hospital in Sierra Leone by burial workers, who are protesting at the failure of authorities to pay them bonuses for their hazardous work, residents have said.

Medical teams face daunting, dangerous task
Tensions in the eastern town of Kenema reached new heights with the action by members of the burial teams. Local residents said three bodies were abandoned in the hospital doorway, preventing people from entering.

There were reports that 15 bodies in total had been left in the street.

Healthcare workers have repeatedly gone on strike in Liberia and Sierra Leone over lack of pay, unfulfilled promises to pay them more and their dangerous working conditions.

Two weeks ago, health workers walked out of the Ebola treatment centre in Bo, the only one in southern Sierra Leone, over the same issues.

A spokesman for the striking workers in Kenema, who asked not to be identified, said they had not been paid their weekly hazard allowance for seven weeks.

Authorities accepted that the money had not been paid but said all the striking members of the Ebola burial team would be dismissed.

“Displaying corpses in a very, very inhumane manner is completely unacceptable,” said the spokesman for the National Ebola Response Centre, Sidi Yahya Tunis.

The head of the district Ebola response team, Abdul Wahab Wan, said the bodies had included those of two babies, and some had been displayed around the hospital.

The pressures on burial teams and health workers in Sierra Leone are severe as the case numbers continue to climb, in spite of a slow-down in neighbouring Liberia. Official figures from the World Health Organisation on 21 November showed there have been 6,190 cases in Sierra Leone, including 136 healthcare workers, and 1,267 deaths. There have been 15,351 cases and 5,459 deaths reported in the Ebola outbreak in total so far. The true figures are expected to be far higher.

Public Services International (PSI), a global trade union federation, has launched a video to name and honour 325 health workers, including doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers and cleaners, who have died of the disease in the three worst-hit countries. According to the WHO, 588 healthcare workers have been infected and 337 have died. Some will have lacked the personal protective equipment needed to do their job safely.

The federation said the “grievously high loss of lives” revealed a failure to invest in public health systems in the three worst-affected countries.

Body removal teams the real heroes performing under incredibly dangerous conditions

Anthony Banbury, head of the UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response, said on Monday that the target of getting 70% of people with the virus into treatment and 70% of those who die safely buried by 1 December would not be met.

”In some places, we are definitely going to make it: we see some really good impact of the efforts of the national authorities and the United Nations system,” he said.

“It’s clear where there are escalating cases rapidly accelerating the spread of the disease, and where we don’t have the response capability on the ground, and that’s definitely the case in some places, we’re not going make it.”

The areas of greatest concern are in rural parts of Sierra Leone, the city of Makeni in the centre of the country, Port Loko in the north-west and the capital, Freetown.

Millions of dollars in aid have been pledged, troops have been sent by the UK and the US, and volunteer health workers are slowly arriving, but the epidemic in Sierra Leone is yet to show sign of abating.

"FUCK CNN!" - Rioters Disrupt Ferguson Live Coverage

CNN race-baiter Don Lemon pours gas on Ferguson flames, gets burned; Sara Sidner rocked - not a good day for CNN frauds as rioters get down on corporate hacks and to hell with "political correctness"

RT

Police in the vicinity of Ferguson, Missouri had their hands full Monday night when the absence of an indictment against Officer Darren Wilson spawned protests, fires and looting. For the media, covering the madness was an ordeal as well.

Ferguson breaks out in chaos, anarchy
While journalists scrambled to deliver live coverage from the region into the morning as demonstrations raged on, reporters on the ground in towns like Ferguson, Clayton and St. Louis saw themselves under attack — verbally and physically — from protesters enraged by a grand jury’s decision not to indict Wilson, the 28-year-old Ferguson cop who killed unarmed teen Michael Brown earlier this year.

In one instance on CNN, critics of the network relied on their words to express their feelings about Monday’s night coverage.

At one point, a live segment was derailed when a demonstrator rushed the microphone and barked, “Fuck CNN!”

“As we said, we don’t know what’s going to happen, so we apologize for that,” CNN host Don Lemon responded.

Racist fraud, corporate hack Don Lemon gets a taste of his own poison

Indeed, the network again was in for a surprise when another anchor was belted in the head with a rock thrown from off camera later into their coverage.

A grand jury determined earlier Monday that Wilson will not be charged with any crime for now with regards to the August officer involved shooting that killed Brown, 18. Despite pleas from US President Barack Obama and others for demonstrators to stay calm, however, matters quickly escalated in town and others.

Ferguson building burns as rioters run amok
Only moments after the president addressed the nation, CNN host Don Lemon took heat after saying what Gawker could only describe as “something infuriatingly dumb and insensitive.”

Broadcasting live from Ferguson, Lemon scrambled for the right words to describe the scene before explaining, "Obviously, there's a smell of marijuana in the air."

“Don Lemon has become a one man [shake my damn head] factory,” DC-based writer Dave Weigel tweeted on Tuesday.

Other armchair media critics were quick to pounce on that comment and others from the correspondent, but protesters rallying in Ferguson were much more apt to make their grievances against the media heard: at one point on Fox News, a mask-clad protester pried the network photographer’s video camera out of his hands and threw it to the ground on live TV.

CNN's Sara Sidner gets rocked, takes it like a man

Lorena de la Cuesta, a field reporter for RT's video agency, Ruptly, said she was injured herself after being struck with an apparent gas canister while covering Monday's events.

Brain-dead sluts apparently think rioting, looting "cool"
Online, individuals outraged by the lack of an indictment, the response from protesters and the mainstream media’s coverage of events as they unfolded took to Twitter and other outlets to make their complaints heard.

Television networks attempted to broadcast late into the evening as at least dozen structure fires erupted around Ferguson, including one at an automobile dealership, but their reporting was met with criticism both on the streets and on the web.

Of course, television coverage from the events that unfolded on Monday evening represented just a fraction of what outraged Americans were upset about in the wake of the grand jury decision. Demonstrations like the ones in Ferguson that erupted after the announcement soon were established in other locales like Washington, DC, New York City and Oakland, California, and activists have planned similar protests for Tuesday evening.
