Vladimir Putin Reminds Obama That Sowing Discord Between Nuclear Powers Can Undermine Strategic Security

A sane warning to an insane criminal and his out of control regime; the world watches as the United States falls apart and threatens to bring the planet down with it

GLOBAL RESEARCH
By Dr. Paul Craig Roberts
10/16/2014

In an interview today with Politika, a Serbian newspaper, Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, said that it is futile and dangerous for the US and its European puppets to blackmail Russia and that the Exceptional Nation and its vassals should consider the risks that are inherent in aggressive disputes between countries heavily armed with nuclear weapons.

Putin noted that Obama took a hostile attitude toward Russia in Obama’s UN speech to the General Assembly on September 24 when Obama declared Russia to be one of the three threats to the world along with the Islamic State and ebola.

President Putin said that unilateral and punitive actions taken against Russia can provoke a crisis, and that if Washington’s purpose is to “isolate our country, it is an absurd and illusory goal.”

Here are some of President Putin’s direct quotes:

“How can we talk about de-escalation in Ukraine while the decisions on new sanctions are introduced almost simultaneously with the agreements on the peace process?”

“Together with the sanctions against entire sectors of our economy, this approach can be called nothing but hostile.”

“We hope that our partners will realize the futility of attempts to blackmail Russia and remember what consequences discord between major nuclear powers could bring for strategic stability.”

If we don’t all die from nuclear blasts, radiation, and nuclear winter, it will be because of the humanity and common sense–both of which are missing in Washington–of the President of Russia.

Look around you. The economies and stock markets of Western civilization are in retreat. Stupid and incompetent public authorities have brought ebola into America. And what is Washington doing? The energies of the Exceptional Government are focused on combating the Islamic State, a creature created by Washington itself, and on demonizing Russia.

Has any country, anywhere on the face of the earth, at any period of history been so totally misruled as the United States?

Americans need to understand that their government is not merely incompetent and immoral, but that it is evil. Washington hides behind moral language but is itself devoid of moral conscience. There is no evil of which Washington is incapable. Those who support Washington support evil.

Obama Issues Executive Order Sending National Guard To West Africa to Fight Ebola

ARNG Federal Mission:

During peacetime each state National Guard answers to leadership in the 50 states, three territories and the District of Columbia. During national emergencies, however, the President reserves the right to mobilize the National Guard, putting them in federal duty status.

While federalized, the units answer to the Combatant Commander of the theatre in which they are operating and, ultimately, to the President.

Even when not federalized, the Army National Guard has a federal obligation (or mission.) That mission is to maintain properly trained and equipped units, available for prompt mobilization for war, national emergency, or as otherwise needed.

The Army National Guard is a partner with the Active Army and the Army Reserves in fulfilling the country's military needs.

Mobilizing to "fight" an out of control virus in a failed country in a failed continent IS NOT THE MISSION OF THE NATIONAL GUARD AND CONGRESS HAD BETTER PUT A STOP TO THIS MADNESS IMMEDIATELY!!!!

10/16/2014

President Obama has just issued an executive order calling up National Guard reserves to deal with Ebola in Africa.

Obama notified Congress of his Executive order Thursday.

The order calls the “Selected Reserve and Certain individual ready reserve members of the Armed forces to Active duty.”

It reads:

“I hereby determine that it is necessary to augment the active Armed Forces of the United States for the effective conduct of Operation United Assistance, which is providing support to civilian-led humanitarian assistance and consequence management support related to the Ebola virus disease outbreak in West Africa.”

Here is the Executive order directly from the White House website:

The White House also expanded on its justification for not instituting an immediate travel ban from infected countries.

Obama could care less about our National Guard personnel
“It would provide a direct incentive for individuals seeking to travel to the United States to go underground and to seek to evade this screening and to not be candid about their travel history in order to enter the country,” said White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest. The same President who refuses to send our military to fight terrorists who have threatened our country, is more than willing to send them into harm’s way to fight a deadly virus.

There are currently more than 500 U.S. troops in the region, and the Obama administration has already authorized the deployment of up to 4,000 more to assist in fighting the virus.
Obama Refuses to Stop Infected West Africans from entering the U.S., but will Quarantine Military upon Return.

As the administration continues their insane policy of allowing West Africans to board planes to the United States, the Defense Department announced that all returning troops from the hot zone will be quarantined for 21 days at a Defense Department facility.

Earlier this week, Radio Talk show host Michael Savage, who has a PhD. from the University of California at Berkeley in epidemiology and nutrition sciences, slammed the administration for sending our troops into the hot zone.

There is no screening or quarantine for lying, Ebola infected illegals entering the U.S. but OUR MILITARY SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN WILL BE SUBJECTED TO BOTH ON RETURN TO THE U.S.

On his show Savage said, “There’s not a sane reason to take 4,000 troops and send them into a hot Ebola zone without expecting at least one of them to come back with Ebola, unless you want to infect the nation with Ebola.” He went on to say, “U.S. government is violating the primary rule of epidemiology by exposing our young men and women to this deadly virus.”

Although many in the media slammed Savage for his comments, ABC News medical expert Richard Besser told This Week Sunday morning that there was a “very real” possibility one of the U.S. troops being sent to West Africa will contract the virus.

Troops will be in direct contact with Ebola Patients Blood

According to a Fox News report from last week, a small group of military medical technicians will have to handle infected blood samples, which Pentagon officials acknowledged could put them at risk of becoming infected.

Pentagon officials insist these medical teams will be the only individuals who will be intentionally handling raw materials that could be infected, but they have not said whether these technicians will be quarantined away from other military teams in the area.

Gen. David Rodriguez, the head of U.S. Africa Command, told Pentagon reporters, “Those people are trained to the very highest level of operating in a nuclear, biological, and chemical arena, and they are tested continually.”

21 Day Quarantine may not be enough to Contain the Virus

All of this comes as a new Drexel study, published in the journal PLOS One, suggests 21 days might not be a long enough quarantine period for those who have been exposed to the Ebola virus.

The research, which was conducted by Professor Charles Haas, PhD, and used data from both previous outbreaks and the first nine months of the current outbreak, claims that there’s a .1 to 12% risk of a quarantined person developing the virus if they are released after 21 days.

Is THIS next?  Flag-covered, sealed coffins returning from AFRICA???

Another study, conducted by the World health Organization, showed that 3% of Ebola incubations occurred in the period of 21 – 42 days after exposure.

With so many unanswered questions about this virus, and after seeing the complete breakdown of our emergency preparedness agencies and hospitals, it is beyond negligent to continue to allow people from the infected areas in West Africa into this country. Since our government is unwilling, and I believe unable to protect the public from danger, I hope people learn from this experience and take steps to protect themselves for future troubles.

Excuse Me, But We Never 'Won' In Iraq

"We" also didn't "win" in Korea, Vietnam or Afghanistan and yet our "leaders" both in the executive branch and the JCS continue to repeat the same mistakes over and over again resulting in the needless deaths and maimings of our military servicemen and women who are now stretched to the breaking point by incompetence, lack of leadership and wonton disregard for their continuing sacrifices

HUFFINGTON POST

It's often been said that generals always fight the last war, especially if they think they won it. That old adage remains as true today as it was when the Maginot Line was built in the 1930s to prevent a second German invasion of France. And it is as true for politicians as it is for generals.

Maginot Line
The proof can be found in the current debate about the so-called Islamic State, a terrorist organization so vile that even al-Qaida disowned it.

While it may not be popular with fellow thugs, the Islamic State has managed to take over much of Iraq and Syria.

Predictably, Washington seems more interested in assigning blame for the situation than dealing with it.

Sen. John McCain, for instance, said this about the war in Iraq: "We had it won. Gen. [David] Petraeus had the conflict won, thanks to the surge. If we had left a residual force behind, we would not be facing the crisis we are today. Those are fundamental facts. We had a stable government. But the president wanted out, and now we are paying a very heavy price."

McCain could give a damn about our military deaths
None of these "facts" is true. The Bush administration laid the groundwork for today's mess when it negotiated a Status of Forces Agreement with the Iraqi government that stipulated American combat troops would be gone by the end of 2011. The Obama administration tried to negotiate a continuation of their presence, but the Iraqi government refused unless U.S. troops were subject to the Iraqi judicial system, a condition to which no president would agree. No Iraqi politician was going to agree without that provision. So, goodbye U.S. troops.

The surge also did not "win" the war. It won only a temporary lull in a civil war that started when American officials disbanded the Iraqi army and kicked members of Saddam Hussein's Baath Party out of their government jobs. That left all the people who used to run the country (ruthlessly) with no stake in its future. They were not simply going to go home and quietly watch their children go hungry.

Vietnam

Instead they ignited an insurgency that grew into civil war, which the surge was supposed to extinguish. If there is any historical fact that Mr. McCain should have absorbed it is this: Vietnam demonstrated that American troops cannot win a civil war for a regime that is incapable of defending itself. Iraqi security forces outnumber those of the Islamic State by 20 to one but show no willingness to fight.

The service and sacrifice of our troops in Iraq was incredible, especially since the only thing most of us on the home front ever did to support the war was to take George W. Bush's advice to "go shopping." That sacrifice notwithstanding, a surge of 30,000 troops in a country of 28 million people, especially when 25,000 never left Baghdad, was not going to win the war or even do much to reduce the carnage.

Two other things brought about the lull in fighting. First, many of the foreign jihadis who joined the fray alienated the Iraqis. Second, and most important, many of those who used to have those jobs in the military and government were put back on the payroll. Once they began drawing paychecks again, they started defending the existing political order instead of trying to destroy it.

Bush bangs on the bongo like a chimpanzee while our servicemen and women died for a lies and oil in Iraq and Afghanistan

The relative calm lasted as long as the insurgents were kept employed. When the Americans stopped paying them, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki continued to do so, but only for a time. He was more interested in converting the Iraqi armed forces and police into a Shiite militia loyal to him than he was in keeping happy Sunni supporters of the former regime. When they lost their paychecks, they resumed the civil war and many became members of what we now know as the Islamic State.

Petraeus disgraces the uniform, U.S. military
The man Mr. McCain claims won the war is the same David Petraeus who wrote in the Washington Post that "Iraq's security forces are developing steadily and they are in the fight. Momentum has gathered in recent months. With strong Iraqi leaders out front and with continued coalition support, this trend will continue." That gushingly optimistic article was published in September 2004.

Six weeks later, Mr. Bush was reelected and a little over two years after that Mr. Petraeus pinned on his fourth star. Mission accomplished.

The Iraqi leaders Mr. Petraeus praised are as responsible for restarting the civil war in 2014 as American officials are for creating it in 2004. But don't expect the architects of the Iraqi disaster to admit that. They prefer to echo the McCain version of history.

In a lengthy article for Foreign Policy titled "How We Won in Iraq," Mr. Petraeus credits the "victory" to the surge of American troops. He mentions only in passing that putting 100,000 insurgents on the payroll might have had something to do with it. He spends most of the article praising those who worked with him and by extension himself. He throws in three sentences at the end describing how to regain "victory" -- all that is required is a "surge of ideas."

Mr. Petraeus mentions Mr. al-Maliki seven times, but never critically. He praises him for being "willing to undertake the vast majority of the necessary changes" when it is clear that the former prime minister's corruption, incompetence and relentless sectarian exclusionism has made Iraq what it is today.

Mr. Petraeus will be speaking in Pittsburgh Oct. 28. For $25 to $65, you can hear about how he won the war.

Chain Reaction : Concern About Ebola Nurse’s Flight Prompts School Closings In Two States

This plane should have never been allowed back into service, much less allowed to proceed without a thorough disinfection; airlines, CDC responsible for the spread:  Best bet is for Americans not to panic, switch off the TV, sit back and CALMLY evaluate your personal situation and take charge of your response - have a plan, have a backup plan in the event the first goes sideways, WORK THE PLAN

WASHINGTON POST
By Lindsey Bever

When Thomas Eric Duncan was diagnosed with Ebola two weeks ago, authorities said not to worry — he had no symptoms during his flights from Liberia to Dallas. They said the disease could be spread only by someone who was showing signs such as fever and only through bodily fluids such as vomit. They told passengers who rode with Duncan they couldn’t catch it because it isn’t transmitted through the air.

First and obvious plan of action:  DON'T FLY
And, they said, if a passenger is sick or has a fever, the person won’t fly.

Now the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is busy tracking 132 passengers who traveled this week on a Frontier Airlines flight with Amber Vinson, the second health-care worker who tested positive for Ebola after caring for Duncan, who died earlier this month. On Monday, the nurse went from Cleveland back to Dallas with a low-grade fever. And the next day, the plane took five more trips before Frontier Airlines wasnotified late Tuesday about Vinson.

CDC Director Tom Frieden said she did not have nausea or vomit on the plane, so the risk to anyone around her is “extremely low.”

Still, many are now concerned about exposure. A flight crew is on paid leave. Several schools in Ohio and Texas have shut down. Students who were on the flight have been asked to stay home. At least one person has put himself in isolation.

Ever since Duncan set foot on American soil on Sept. 20, medical personnel seemed to take one misstep after the other. And the latest may have been the decision to let Vinson fly. Officials said she was running a fever of 99.5 degrees — below the 100.4-degree mark outlined in CDC screening guidelines. Still, Frieden said Wednesday that Vinson should not have been permitted to go anywhere given her risk of exposure.

Second, DO NOT LISTEN TO THE CDC LIARS
That fact prompted precautions around the country.

“It seems like it’s not that big of a risk, but it’s pretty scary,” a Frontier union official, who asked to remain anonymous because he was not authorized to speak for the group, told the Los Angeles Times.

The union, which represents some 60,000 flight attendants, called on the CDC to monitor the crew that traveled with Vinson.

Frontier Airlines chief executive David Siegel said in a letter that two pilots and four flight attendants have been put on paid leave for 21 days “out of an abundance of caution.“These extraordinary actions went beyond CDC recommendations,” the e-mail states. “These steps were taken out of concern for the safety of our customers and employees. Steps such as removing the aircraft from service, removing aircraft seat covers and carpet and replacing environmental filters as well as placing the crew on paid leave were not requested nor mandated by the CDC.”

These concerns seem to be shared by Frontier passengers as well.

Third: stock chlorine, surgical gloves, masks, fresh water
In Solon, Ohio, 20 miles southeast of Cleveland, two schools will shut down Thursday so health officials can disinfect the buildings.

The school district stated in an e-mail that it made the call after learning that a local middle-school staff member may have been on the same plane — but not the same flight — as Vinson.

Some 1,200 miles away in Belton, Tex., about an hour north of Austin, a school district came to the same conclusion. The school district announced via Twitter that three of its schools would be closed Thursday. And two children who were on the same Frontier flight have been asked to stay home from school for 21 days and monitor their temperatures.

The elementary school student and middle school student went to school Tuesday and Wednesday but were not showing symptoms of the disease. “Because of this, there is no imminent risk to your child,” school officials said in letters sent home to parents. Belton Superintendent Susan Kincannon said during a news conference that both students are considered low risk, but “we anticipate that some parents will choose to keep their children at home.”

Fourth:  Have a plan, have a backup plan

And a student in the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw school district — in a county bordering Dallas — will be isolated with family members for three weeks after the shared flight.

A relative of Vinson reportedly quarantined himself after spending time with her in Ohio.

“There are no symptoms with anybody,” Tallmadge Mayor David Kline told19 Action News. “No Ebola in Summit County, and we have to rest assured in that.”

Fifth:  DO NOT PANIC, PANIC KILLS

Still, public health officials are monitoring everyone who came in contact with Vinson.

“Looking at two times a day temperature checks, checking for symptoms. Looking for isolation if anyone develops symptoms,” Margo Erme, county medical director, told the station.

Officials said these actions are not medical recommendations, merely precautions. Even the Dallas hospital at the epicenter offered some “peace of mind and comfort.”

Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas released a statement Wednesday night offering its employees who are concerned about Ebola exposure a place to stay.

“Texas Health Dallas is offering a room to any of our impacted employees who would like to stay here to avoid even the remote possibility of any potential exposure to family, friends and the broader public,” the hospital said. “We will make available to our employees who treated Mr. Duncan a room in a separate part of the hospital throughout their monitoring period.”
