Preschool Enterovirus Victim Died In His Sleep

Satanic CDC "doctors" and "scientists" continue to DOWNPLAY threat of this "novel" virus to U.S. children

The New Jersey preschooler who died of the respiratory illness enterovirus 68 went to sleep and never woke up, health officials say.

Enterovirus 68
The death of 4-year-old Eli Waller is the first to be blamed on the virus that has swept the country, but health officials say he went to bed with none of its symptoms, which include cold-like symptoms but in some cases can involve wheezing and difficulty breathing. "I think Eli's case is the exception to the other cases around the country," said Jeffrey Plunkett, the Hamilton, New Jersey, health officer.

"He had no signs of any illness that night, and his passing was sudden and shocking."

Eli, of Hamilton, New Jersey, was the youngest of three triplets, born "smaller and lighter than his sisters," but he was never one to let that stand in his way, his father Andy Waller said in a letter released Sunday evening. His siblings are "perfectly healthy," Plunkett said, but one of Eli's classmates was being tested for possible infection this morning.

"Eli was not the type to give up, and even though things never really came easily to him, he would just plug away, day after day, practicing sounds, or movements, or skills, until he would eventually get them," his father said.

"He did this entirely in an effort to make his Mom and Dad proud, and we can unequivocally say that we were, and will continue to be, so very proud of our little Eli," he said. He compared his son to "a shy little puppy who wants only to make people proud and happy, maybe tripping a bit over his own paws, but truly full of unconditional love."

Andy Waller said the family was establishing The First Day of School Foundation, to provide support for students involved in Special Education.

"Like so many kids his age, Eli was both nervous and excited about starting school, and it is our sincere hope that this Foundation can work to help kids in a way that will make Eli proud of us all, in the same way that we were all so proud of him," he said.

Plunkett said Saturday that after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed Oct. 3 that Eli was infected with the enterovirus 68 when he died Sept. 24, the Mercer county medical examiner determined the preschooler's death was directly related to the disease.

Brain and lymph node swelling in the child was then determined to be a result of the virus.

While the virus has appeared to be particularly dangerous for asthmatic children or children with underlying health issues, Plunkett said Eli had no known health issues.

At least four other patients who tested positive for the enterovirus 68 have died, and CDC and local medical officials are investigating whether the virus played a role in their deaths.

Another child in Rhode Island died last week from a combination of bacterial and viral infections. The Rhode Island Department of Health said the 10-year-old girl died of Staphylococcus aureus sepis "associated with" enterovirus 68.

The respiratory disease is suspected of sickening children in at least 43 states, according to the CDC. The virus often starts out similar to a common cold with patients usually complaining of coughing or a runny nose. In rare cases the respiratory problems can become severe, particularly for asthmatic patients.

In Colorado, CDC and local health officials are investigating whether limb weakness and paralysis reported in nine children was associated with the enterovirus 68.

Ebola Threat In U.S. And We're Not Prepared To Contain It, Experts Warn

Americans are about to pay for complacency, denial of the threat this "novel" virus presents and it's ILLEGAL, IMMORAL IMPORTATION INTO THE UNITED STATES BY THE CDC AND OBAMA ADMINISTRATION: CNN's Dr. Sears says civilian passengers that are sick "have a responsibility" not to get on the plane; what about the U.S. doctors that DID AND BROUGHT EBOLA INTO THE U.S.?  What about THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO THE INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC? Once again, The 5th Estate urges Americans not to panic but be aware, be prepared, have a plan, work the plan

By Luis Fábregas, Adam Smeltz and Megha Satyanarayana

Mistakes and missteps in the handling of the first Ebola case in the United States trouble lawmakers, international organizations and some public health experts who say the government needs to step up its strategy to contain the virus.

“Where is the 1-800-Ebola hotline?” asked Gavin MacGregor-Skinner, an assistant professor of public health at Penn State University who helped set up an Ebola treatment clinic in Nigeria a few weeks ago. “This is a Category 5 hurricane. It just happens to be viral.”

Doctors have diagnosed only one person with Ebola in the United States, but as many as 50 people might have been exposed to the virus in Dallas, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Doctors at Howard University Hospital in Washington are monitoring a patient with Ebola-like symptoms who frequently traveled to Nigeria.

The raging epidemic has overwhelmed weak health systems in the West African nations of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Although hospitals in the United States are better prepared to handle Ebola, travel restrictions or stricter screening of people coming to the United States from Ebola-affected countries might be necessary to curb the crisis, some health monitors said.

DO NOT PANIC, panic kills; be aware, be prepared, be informed

“Unless the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention take extreme measures to prevent the universal spread of the disease, we could possibly end up with a pandemic,” said Phenelle Segal, president of Montgomery County-based Infection Control Consulting Services and a former infection prevention analyst for the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority.

“I think as soon as we started seeing West Africa go out of control with Ebola, that was the time” to halt air travel from the region, said Segal, who supports exceptions for relief workers and aid missions.

That approach might be the only way to contain the outbreak and prevent a global crisis, Segal said. Federal and global health officials argue isolation would risk more economic instability in West Africa while undercutting humanitarian support, worsening the epidemic in the short term and fostering a greater international threat over time.

CDC continues to lie, downplay, obfuscate threat to cover for it's role in importing Ebola into the United States

U.S. Rep Tim Murphy, R-Upper St. Clair, plans an Oct. 16 hearing with officials from the CDC, National Institutes of Health and others to examine whether tougher measures are needed to screen travelers.

“The propensity of people coming out of those countries may be to get out of there as fast as possible, even if that means lying on their records. We can't necessarily just use that verbal screening process,” Murphy said. “CDC and NIH are going to tell us how they are adapting and changing this, because the current process apparently is not effective.”

Sen. Jerry Moran, a Kansas Republican, urged President Obama to appoint someone to coordinate Ebola-related matters.

“This is a serious development and reiterates the need for us to heighten coordination and vigilance to address this health crisis,” Moran said.

Virus Spreading Fast

Cases of Ebola have doubled every three weeks in West Africa, where the disease has killed more than 3,400 people.

The United States pledged $750 million in aid to West Africa, and the Pentagon said it could put as many as 4,000 troops in affected countries. The military would help build hospitals and a clinic for infected physicians and health care workers.

These are headlines we DO NOT want to see in America

Great Britain plans facilities for 700 medical beds in Sierra Leone, and Japan promised $22 million in emergency aid for the region.

The Obama administration's response was not swift enough for organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, whose workers are on the front lines.

“The sick are desperate, their families and caregivers are angry, and aid workers are exhausted. Maintaining quality of care is an extreme challenge,” Joanne Chiu, the organization's executive director, told the United Nations this month.

The Ebola outbreak shows no signs of abating. More than 7,000 people are infected in West Africa, where people often distrust the government and aid workers. The lack of a treatment for the virus has affected the ability of international aid groups to help people with the illness, which causes high fever, vomiting and diarrhea.

Since the identification of Thomas E. Duncan as the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States, errors have occurred in the attempt to contain the virus, experts said. Authorities accused Duncan of lying on a form in Liberia that asked whether he had contact with anyone with Ebola.

He fell ill on arrival in Dallas, but a hospital sent him home with antibiotics. When he was finally admitted, local officials stalled in identifying a cleaning crew to remove contaminated linens and furniture from the apartment where Duncan stayed.

Even then, authorities turned away the crew because they did not have appropriate biohazard transportation permits.

MacGregor-Skinner cited poor communication between federal agencies — and with state and local agencies — on which hospitals are equipped to handle Ebola patients, how to safely contain and transport people, and what to do with contaminated waste.

Tamping Down Panic

Ebola kills up to 90 percent of those who get it, but CDC officials caution that it is not a respiratory virus and can be contracted only though direct contact with bodily fluids.

Already stretched tighter than a banjo string with multiple deployments in Obama's illegal wars our exhausted military personnel now have to deal with THIS

“This is not like flu. It's not like measles. It's not like the common cold. It's not as spreadable. It's not as infectious. What's scary is that it is so severe if you get infected,” said Dr. Thomas Frieden, the CDC's director.

Yet the CDC appears to be avoiding hysteria by downplaying how easily the disease can spread, including through sweat, said Segal, the infection consultant. She once treated patients in South Africa with similar viruses and covered up with body gear to protect herself.

“I'm not sure the CDC can do anything differently — because what is the public going to do, knowing that it's contagious? What are we going to do?” Segal asked.

Others question the CDC's communication strategy.

MacGregor-Skinner said the use of text messaging to trace contacts with infected individuals was key to containing the virus in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, where he recently was based.

“Contact tracing is the key,” he said. “Let's not stigmatize people who have been in contact with this patient.”

Researching, Preparing

Federal authorities at the National Institutes of Health have yet to begin human testing of an investigational vaccine to treat Ebola.

“We need to be sure the vaccines are safe and effective before they're used widely,” said Dr. Beth Bell, director of the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases.

Experts say it's only a matter of time before Ebola hits cities such as Pittsburgh. When that happens, it is important for hospitals to be prepared with equipment and infection control training for health care workers.

“Every city in the world, technically, could have an Ebola case and should be preparing at the hospital level,” said Dr. Amesh Adalja, an infectious disease physician at UPMC. “I don't think this outbreak is going to be over for quite some time.”

Adalja said Ebola is on everyone's mind because it has been portrayed in movies thatstrike fear and provoke people's imaginations.

“Ebola has this mystique about it. It's a mysterious disease that comes out of nowhere. It's very deadly, very scary, and then it disappears,” Adalja said.

Nuland Lands In Kiev As U.S. - Backed Regime Tools Up For War

Obama war-whore Victoria "Fuck the EU" Nuland hops in bed with fascists for yet another whips and chains Ukrainian terrorist tryst - McCain polishing his stilettos and nipple-rings for grand entry to WWIII as the White House criminals "give" yet another $53 MILLION to fascists while American children, Seniors and Veterans starve and die on the streets for lack of medical care and shelter

By Finian Cunningham

In an ominous sign that the war in Ukraine is set to further escalate, US state department official Victoria Nuland arrived in Kiev where she met with senior members of the Western-backed regime.

Bug-eyed, doped-up Victoria "Fuck the EU" Nuland
In recent days the ceasefire brokered on September 5 has come under intense pressure as Kiev military forces have stepped up their barrage of the eastern city of Donetsk, with several civilian casualties reported almost on a daily basis. As civilian homes burn in Donetsk, the Kiev regime has also begun openly talking about resuming its war footing by "raising combat readiness" and mobilising new army units toward the eastern Donbass regions, where it is trying to suppress a pro-independence movement in the self-declared People’s Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk.

For the past month, the Kiev regime has been talking out of both sides of its mouth. At times it has been declaring commitment to a ceasefire brokered by Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). At other times, hardliners in the regime have been warning that there was no such truce in practice, and that it was on the verge of an all-out war with Russia.

Nuland with her fascist bed-partners
All the while, the putative ceasefire has been in tatters largely because Kiev’s forces have refused to withdraw from the conflict lines and continued to shell civilians centres.

Now the Kiev President Petro Poroshenko has flipped to a strident war rhetoric.

In a televised appearance this week, the former industry tycoon had swapped his tie and suit for military uniform, and was warning that forces under his command were ready to use "modern fighting techniques."

Poroshenko said that "Ukraine has transferred its economy to a military footing and will provide everything possible for the Ukrainian army to be stronger." This while his bankrupt country owes Russia $5.3 billion in unpaid gas bills.

EU will be burning furniture this winter
Last week his hardline Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk declared that Kiev’s military had been replenished with new equipment and winter gear.

The timing of this renewed militarism across the board in Kiev’s political leadership – together with increasing violations of the ceasefire in the east – seems more than coincidental with the arrival of eminence grise Victoria Nuland.

Nuland, who is Assistant Secretary of State to John Kerry, hasn’t been in Kiev since March. For the past seven months, she has taken a noticeably low profile with regard to Ukraine. Her absence was no doubt aimed at deflecting from her earlier controversial involvement in overseeing the CIA-backed coup on February 22, when the elected government of then President Viktor Yanukovych was deposed by the fascist cabal headed up by Yatsenyuk.

Nuland distributing aid and comfort to fascist CIA groupies
Two weeks before that coup, Nuland had been caught in a private phone call with the US ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt, plotting on the shape of the new regime, with Yatsenyuk nominated as the point man. Nuland was also caught disparaging the European Union with expletives, in a clear signal that Washington was taking the driving seat to install the new "Yats" regime.

Yatsenyuk’s Fatherland Party and the neo-Nazi Svoboda party, with its Right Sector stormtroopers, have dominated the regime’s anti-Russia policies ever since. Following a secret visit to Kiev in April by CIA director John Brennan, the regime embarked on a massive military offensive to suppress dissident ethnic Russian populations in the east of the country who were refusing to recognise the legitimacy of the US-backed coup.

That offensive – dubbed an anti-terror operation – has been largely under-reported by Western news media, even though it has resulted in more than 3,600 deaths and up to one million refugees.

Most of the casualties have been civilian, with a Russian Investigative Committee reporting last week that at least 2,500 people have been killed from indiscriminate shelling of civilian centres in Donetsk and Luhansk by Kiev forces.

The latter comprise regular army units, as well as neo-Nazi paramilitaries belonging to the so-called National Guard and various private militia (death squads) run by pro-Kiev oligarch figures, such as Igor Kolomoisky.

Both Washington and Brussels have obfuscated this terror campaign by affecting to give it legality by referring to the Kiev regime as the "government of Ukraine." Washington and Brussels have also amplified Kiev’s diversionary propaganda accusing Russia of covert aggression and destabilising the Donbass regions.

Moscow has consistently denied any involvement; and Western governments, the Kiev regime and NATO have not produced a shred of verifiable proof to support their tendentious claims against Russia.

Russia’s President Putin and the OSCE chairman, Didier Burkalter, who is also the Swiss president, this week reiterated that all sides in the Ukrainian conflict must abide by the terms of the ceasefire signed in Minsk on September 5.

But it seems that Kiev is now moving to dispel any pretence of recognising that ceasefire.

Since the truce was called – and apparently signed up to by Kiev’s President Poroshenko – the pro-independence Russian-speaking militia in Donbass have claimed that Kiev’s forces were only using the lull in violence as an opportunity to regroup.

Ukrainian fascist recipients of American taxpayer money
Speaking on September 8, Donetsk People’s Republic deputy premier Andrei Purgin said: "They are doing what was impossible without truce conditions. All the movements of convoys would have been impossible.

During the truce, convoys of combat vehicles are reaching destinations and preparing for attacks."

Poroshenko’s public role in all this seems to have been to give an outward impression of adhering to a cessation and paving the way for political dialogue with the dissident regions.

However, that impression has to be set against continual breaches of the ceasefire and mounting civilian casualties by his forces, relentless anti-Russian rhetoric from the hardliners like Yatsenyuk, and the supply of military aid to the Kiev regime from Washington – the last tranche worth $53 million was announced while Poroshenko was being feted in the White House three weeks ago.

Geriatric traitor McCain polishing fascist knob
This week on the day that Nuland landed in Kiev, the regime announced what many suspected all along – that it was merely using the month-old ceasefire as a tactical launchpad to redouble its military operations.

Andrey Lysenko, Kiev’s National Defence and Security Council spokesman, said on Monday: "We have managed to upgrade the equipment currently in service, to get new armaments, and to reorganise and retool the defence industries that manufacture armaments and repair hardware."

He added: "We have also managed to regroup our forces, to carry out deep reconnaissance and to gather more information about the enemy. We have completed the third wave of mobilisation. We have replaced the units that needed that, we gave them a chance to have some rest after heavy fighting and to get back to normal."

By "normal," Lysenko means "terrorising civilians in eastern Ukraine."

EU now well and truly fucked thanks to Obama, NATO, CIA
This underscores what Poroshenko has in recent days said about "the economy moving to a war footing."

The sinister sign is that the Kiev regime, including the "Candy King" Poroshenko, is now realigning to an all-out belligerent policy toward the people of eastern Ukraine, and by extension, toward Russia itself.

The long overdue visit to Kiev this week by Victoria Nuland – Washington’s Ukraine hawk – carries the foreboding imprimatur of US-backed war escalation.
