A United Nations envoy has been chased out of Crimea after being confronted by an angry crowd waving Russian flags.

Journalists at the scene said Serry was escorted from the café through a crowd of demonstrators, having agreed to leave the region.

On Wednesday afternoon, NATO Chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen said that the alliance was suspending meetings with Russia, and putting the "entire co-operation under review".
