Washington’s New Islamic Front : Expanded U.S. Support To Al Qaeda Rebels In Syria

"Al Qaeda" CIA created, U.S. owned and operated terrorist organization

By Prof Michel Chossudovsky

From the outset, the Western military alliance has (covertly) supported the terrorists with a view to destabilizing Syria as a nation state.

Lest we forget, Al Qaeda is a creation of the CIA.

The US, NATO, Israel, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have channeled most of their support to the Al Qaeda brigades, which are also integrated by Western Special Forces.

British and French Special Forces have been actively training opposition rebels from a base in Turkey.

Israel has provided a safe have to Al Qaeda affiliated rebels in the occupied Golan Heights.

Western special forces have been training the rebels in the use of chemical weapons in Jordan.

NATO and the Turkish High command have been involved in the development of a jihad involving the recruitment of thousands of “freedom fighters”, reminiscent of the enlistment of Mujahideen to wage the CIA’s jihad (holy war) in the heyday of the Soviet-Afghan war.

Also discussed in Brussels and Ankara, our sources report, is a campaign to enlist thousands of Muslim volunteers in Middle East countries and the Muslim world to fight alongside the Syrian rebels. The Turkish army would house these volunteers, train them and secure their passage into Syria. (Debkafile, August 31, 2011). Debka, August 2011 emphasis added)

This is a war of aggression. It is not a civil war.

The New Islamic Front

The Al Qaeda fighters integrated by mercenaries, trained in Saudi Arabia and Qatar constitute the mainstay of so-called opposition forces, which have been involved in countless atrocities and terrorist acts directed against the civilian population from the outset in March 2011.

The existence of “more moderate opposition brigades” supported by the West is a myth. They exist in name, they do not constitute a meaningful military force. They are not the object of significant support by their Western handlers, who prefer to channel their aid to the Al Qaeda affiliated brigades.

The FSA and its Supreme Military Command essentially serve as a front organization. The SMC under the helm of General Salim Idriss has largely been used to channel support to the terrorists.

In recent developments, fighting has broke up between the Al Qaeda affiliated rebels covertly supported by the West and the more moderate FSA brigades, officially supported by the West.

Having “expressed their concern”, US officials have announced the holding of talks with the rebel commanders of the New Islamic Front (created in November).

The objective, however, is not to mediate between opposing factions. What is contemplated are new procedures for channeling support to the Al Qaeda affiliated terrorists, through the newly created Islamic Front umbrella organization.

The New Islamic Front regroups six or seven major rebel entities, including the former Syrian Islamic Front ( الجبهة الإسلامية السورية‎ al-Jabhah al-Islāmiyya as-Sūriyyah) which constituted a Salafist umbrella organisation. The Salafist Ahrar al-Sham was the lead entity of the (defunct) SIF. The latter has been disbanded and integrated (under a new label) into the New Islamic Front, which is working hand in glove with Washington.

The expected contacts between Washington and the radical fighters reflect the extent to which the [New] Islamic Front alliance has eclipsed the more moderate Free Syrian Army brigades — which Western and Arab powers tried in vain to build into a force able to topple President Bashar Al Assad.

The talks could also decide the future direction of the Islamic Front, which is engaged in a standoff with yet more radical Sunni Muslim fighters from the Al Qaeda-linked Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

A rebel fighter with the Islamic Front said he expected the talks in Turkey to discuss whether the United States would help arm the front and assign to it responsibility for maintaining order in the rebel-held areas of northern Syria.

The Islamic Front rebel told reporters that rivalry with the ISIL had already led to a spate of hostage-taking between the two sides, and that the Front’s decision to talk to the Americans had further escalated tension. Although he described the two Islamist forces as ideologically close, he said ISIL appeared set on confrontation, perhaps encouraged by some of their backers in Saudi Arabia. (Gulf Today, December 13, 2013).

Former US Ambassador to Syria Robert Stephen Ford has been involved in negotiations with the Islamic Front. Ford had established contact with New Islamic Front leaders in November.

The involvement of Ambassador Ford should come as no surprise. He was one of the main architects of the death squad brigades sent into Syria, starting in March 2011. He has, no doubt, been in permanent liaison with Al Qaeda rebel commanders from the outset of the insurgency.

Robert S. Ford had previously worked at the US embassy in Baghdad (2004-2005) under the helm of Ambassador John D. Negroponte. He played a key role in implementing the Pentagon’s “Iraq Salvador Option”. The latter consisted in supporting Iraqi death squadrons and paramilitary forces modeled on the experience of Central America. With regard to Syria, the US State Department has been collaborating with several US intelligence agencies and the Pentagon is overseeing US support to rebel forces in Syria.

A Syria policy committee was created in 2012. It involved the participation of Ambassador Robert Stephen Ford, former CIA director David Petraeus, Jeffrey Feltman, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs and Derek Chollet, Principal Deputy Director of Clinton’s Policy Planning Staff at the State Department.

Under Jeffrey Feltman’s supervision, the actual recruitment of terrorist mercenaries, however, is carried out in Qatar and Saudi Arabia in liaison with senior intelligence officials from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Libya and NATO. The former Saudi ambassador to the US, Prince Bandar, who remains a key member of Saudi intelligence, is said to be working with the Feltman group in Doha. (Michel Chossudovsky, “The Salvador Option For Syria”: US-NATO Sponsored Death Squads Integrate “Opposition Forces”, Global Research, 28 May 2012)

Expanded US Support to Al Qaeda Affiliated Rebels in Syria

What the US and its allies are establishing are new effective “direct channels” for increasing their support to their Al Qaeda foot soldiers, essentially using the new Islamic Front as a “Go Between”. This procedure is contemplated following the apparent demise of the Supreme Military Command of the FSA.

Until recently US and allied support to Al Qaeda was channeled to the rebels through an indirect route, namely through Supreme military Command (SMC) commander General Salim Idriss.

General Idriss is reported to have fled Syria for Doha, “as a result of the Islamic Front taking over his headquarters.” The takeover of SMC headquarters has, according to reports “prompted the United States and Britain to announce [December 11] that they were suspending non-lethal aid to northern Syria, due to fears of equipment ending up in the wrong hands.”

This again is a smokescreen: the New Islamic Front which attacked the SMC headquarters is working in close liaison with its Western handlers including Ambassador Robert Stephen Ford.

Washington intends to use the Islamic Front to channel its support to the more radical Al Qaeda factions including Al Nusrah which, according to reports, has established ties to the New Islamic Front.

The Obama Administration has committed itself to “an expanded Syrian insurgency that includes the recently-formed Islamic Front”:

The Front has been pressing for inclusion in the SMC, and wants to be represented at the Geneva talks, according to rebel commanders. … Ex-Ambassador Ford is traveling to London on Friday to meet other international backers of the opposition, and then to Turkey for discussions with the Syrian National Coalition. He may also meet there with the Islamic Front, said the senior official. (EA World View, December 13, 2013

The propaganda ploy is to portray the new Islamic Front as “moderate”. With the FSA Supreme Military Command in disarray, Washington’s objective is to provide a semblance of legitimacy to the insurrection largely integrated by the Western military alliance’s Al Qaeda foot soldiers.

The creation of a pro-US Islamic Front serves that purpose, namely to channel money and weapons directly to the rebels via the new Islamic Front umbrella organization.

San Antonio, Texas University Student Slain By Police

Coward, feral pigs will soon reap the whirlwind, meet "The Elephant"

By Charles Abelard

A confrontation on Friday, December 6, between a student at the University of the Incarnate Word and an Alamo Heights police officer led to the death of the student, Robert Cameron Redus. Alamo Heights is an upscale neighborhood in San Antonio, Texas.

Coward, murdering pigs will be held accountable
Redus, 23, was shot five times by police Corporal Chris Carter during what appears to have been a fairly routine traffic stop on a rainy night. According to Alamo Heights Police Chief Richard Pruitt, Redus charged Carter with his hand raised, and he had also taken Carter’s baton and beaten him with it.

According to investigators, no weapons other than Carter’s were found at the scene. Carter is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a joint investigation being carried out by the Alamo Heights police department and the Texas Rangers, an organization notorious in the past for its use of indiscriminate violence against Mexican-Americans.

Carter said he saw Redus speeding and driving erratically near the entrance to the campus. Carter followed Redus to his apartment complex, the Treehouse Apartments, about a mile and a half away, and there pulled Redus over. Police claim that Redus initiated the confrontation. They also said the dashcam on Carter’s patrol vehicle, a marked pickup truck, was not working. This map clearly shows the proximity of the apartment complex to the university. Both are located on Broadway Street, a well-traveled central thoroughfare in San Antonio.

According to Pruitt, Carter was placing a late-night order at a Whataburger restaurant around 2 a.m. when he saw a tan Ford Ranger speeding through a construction zone in the rain. When he saw the pickup truck hit a curb and swerve into the oncoming lanes, Carter turned on his emergency lights, radioed for backup, and initiated a pursuit. However, Carter named the wrong street in his backup call, resulting in a delay in the arrival of the backup unit, apparently until after the shooting was over.

Redus had parked his truck at the apartment complex and “started to walk away,” according to Pruitt’s rather sinister description of a logical action anyone who lived at the apartment complex would normally take.

Many questions have been raised over the shooting. John Tedesco, writing in his blog, “What we know so far about the fatal shooting of UIW student Cameron Redus by campus police,” noted that when he attended Incarnate Word in the 1990s, “campus security didn’t even carry firearms. Why was an armed UIW officer shooting at a student at an apartment complex located off campus?”

According to Tedesco’s blog entry, Carter’s truck had a dashboard camera, but it had apparently come unglued as a result of the cold front that came through San Antonio a few days earlier. However, Carter was wearing a microphone, and the police released a summary of the confrontation, without, however, releasing the recording itself.

The confrontation lasted six minutes, during which time, according to the police version of events, Carter told Redus 14 times to put his hands behind his back, told him three times that he was under arrest, and told him to stop resisting 56 times; Redus, they say, pinned Carter against a wall, took away Carter’s baton and began to hit him in the head with it. Carter managed to get the baton back, but then Redus broke free. Carter drew his .40-caliber semiautomatic pistol, warned Redus four times to stop or he would shoot; Redus “charged him [Carter] with an arm raised as if to hit him.” Carter fired six shots at close range, five of which entered Redus’ body.

The student’s family does not believe the police account. On Monday, they sent a statement to the San Antonio Express-News saying that, “Cameron has never been an aggressive or confrontational person. ... For him to confront a police officer would be completely out of his character.” They also said that the authorities quickly cleaned up the scene and searched Redus’ apartment before the family arrived in San Antonio from their home in Baytown, Texas, some 220 miles away.

This coward scum booted a pregnant woman in the stomach

One of Redus’ neighbors, Mohammed Haidarasl, 22, was in the living room of his ground-floor apartment.

Haidarasl overheard Redus say, “Oh, you’re gonna shoot me?” In less than a minute, Haidarasl heard “four to six” gunshots.

It was only later, after the emergency vehicles arrived, that he realized his upstairs neighbor, whom Haidarasl described as “the nicest guy,” had been shot.

Redus was described by his family as a loving brother, a devoted son, an adventurer, lover of travel, and a filmmaker. They showed a photograph of Redus taken in Bariloche, Argentina by his older brother Everett. The family’s positive description of Redus was confirmed by friends and classmates. Redus was on the dean’s list and was co-valedictorian of his high school graduating class.

That Redus had gone bar-hopping with friends to celebrate the end of the fall semester at Incarnate Word, a Roman Catholic institution originally founded as a university for women in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, is not disputed by Redus’ family. A toxicology report from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office may not be available for six to eight weeks.

The family questioned Carter’s decision to follow Redus. “Even if Cameron was driving erratically, he presented no threat to the campus police officer or anyone else once he parked his truck,” they wrote. “We expect all official reports to confirm that Cameron’s death was unnecessary and unjustified.”

A professor of criminal justice at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Michael Gilbert, answered “some people’s claims” that Carter was out of his jurisdiction when he shot Redus. Gilbert said that sworn police officers in Texas have “broad authority,” not just at sites where they work, such as college campuses, but all over the state, due to the state’s licensing powers.

This fact should be noted by all working people. In Houston, for example, there are police departments for every university campus, for the public schools, and for the Houston Metro transit authority, over and above the regular police departments in Houston itself, and in the semi-independent enclaves of West University, Bellaire, Southside Place, Hedwig Village, South Houston, and numerous others—not forgetting the Texas Highway Patrol and the Texas Rangers.

U.S. military Veterans will make short work of these traitor, filthy coward scum in the coming revolution

Even the State Board of Dental Examiners, the State Insurance Department, the Lottery and Racing commissions, the Pharmacy Board, and several water districts have their own police forces. This pattern is repeated throughout the state of Texas—there were, as of 2009, police departments in 163 school districts in the state—and all workers in Texas should be aware that they are subject to the simultaneous authority of multiple well-armed police departments, questions of jurisdiction notwithstanding.

A 2009 report on National Public Radio cited a case where three “peace officers” with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission approached and shot a suspect who was being pursued by Austin police. NPR reported that the incident was being investigated—by the Texas Rangers!

As to Carter’s background, San Antonio Express-News reporter Guillermo Contreras tracked down one of Carter’s former neighbors in the Mulberry Terrace apartments in nearby Fort Sam Houston. Hugo Bustillos, 38, said “he [Carter] was mean.” According to Bustillos, Carter had run-ins with several neighbors over Carter’s dog, gave false statements to the landlord about his neighbors, “made trouble for someone else,” and got into an argument with the apartment management.

Funeral services for Redus were scheduled for Thursday, December 12, at Memorial Baptist Church in Baytown.

The West's Alliance With "Jihad Warriors" In Syria: Sinister Fruits

Obama's CIA/FSA scum now terrorizing Christian nuns

By Dimitry Minin

After suffering one military defeat after another, the Syrian radical opposition, backed by the support of the West and the monarchies of the Persian Gulf, are increasingly retaliating cruelly against the civilian population. The jihadists seize towns and cultural and religious sites which up to that point had remained outside the combat zone, loudly proclaiming their victories.

For example, in response to the advance of the government army into the Qalamoun mountains between Damascus and Homs, where a powerful group of rebels had gathered for a sudden advance on the capital from the north (this group grew from 5,000 men a year ago to 20,000 in November of this year), the jihadists once again rushed into the nearby Christian town of Maaloula. After vandalizing and desecrating the ancient churches, on December 2 they took 12 nuns from the Orthodox convent of St. Thecla hostage, hiding them in the city of Yabrud, which is held by the rebels. The rebels stated that they would burn the convent and kill the hostages, including the abbess, Mother Pelagia Sayyaf, after which the army retreated.

The Free Qalamoun Brigades, which are part of the Army of Islam (Jeysh al-Islam), took responsibility for these barbarous acts. News agencies reported only an offer to exchange the kidnapped sisters for a thousand female prisoners accused of aiding terrorists, but in fact the rebels demanded that the government forces stop their attack on Yabrud and lift the siege against the rebels in East Ghouta in exchange for the lives of the unfortunate nuns, in other words, encourage their barbarism by handing them the victory. The Qatari television channel Al-Jazeera broadcast video meant to show that the sisters "are being treated well in captivity" (as if they can be considered prisoners of war). However, it is clear from the broadcast that the nuns were forced to remove their crosses, which is an insult to the symbol of their faith. At the same time, hundreds of rebels from the groups Jabhat al-Nusra and Ahrar ash-Sham Al Islami were redeployed from Yabrud to Rankous in an attempt to occupy the nearby Christian city of Saidnaya. During the attack on the city they used grenade launchers, from which they shelled the local churches and convent. In eastern Syria, in the city of Ar-Raqqah, the group called the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) destroyed all Christian symbols in one of the city's churches and established its headquarters there.

Big, bad Obama CIA/FSA thugs now terrorizing Christian nuns
In a conversation with the Antiochian patriarch John X, Syrian Prime Minister Najib Mika promised to do everything possible to free the kidnapped nuns, as well as two metropolitans of the Orthodox and Syrian Jacobite churches who have been abducted by rebels. He emphasized the government's dedication to keeping sacred sites of all religions out of combat zones.
The widespread desecration of Christian churches by the rebels is only one side of the coin; the other is their sacrileges against Shiite shrines, including those connected with the veneration of the direct descendants of the founder of Islam, as well as turning mosques into fortified posts and military supply depots.

The British Independent reports that the terrorist threat to Europe and the United States from the "jihad warriors" in Syria is growing rapidly. MI5 and Scotland Yard have detected the first case of rebels sent from Syria to London for the purpose of carrying out terrorist attacks there «when needed». In June of this year the number of jihadists from Europe who were «broken in» in Syria was estimated at 600; since then this figure has almost tripled. "With regards to the European figures, we estimate it’s between 1500 and 2000", says Belgian Interior Minister Joelle Milquet. "It’s a phenomenon which is very generalized".

Intelligence analysts in the West are already making recommendations to preserve the Syrian government army after the overthrow of Assad's regime» for the fight against the Islamic radicals in order not to repeat the mistakes made in Iraq and Libya. Salim Idris, the commander of the pro-Western Free Syrian Army (FSA), has supposedly already agreed to this. But will the Syrian army itself agree? Idris is seen more often in Paris and London than on the battlefield, and his intention to lead a united «opposition-government» army against al-Qaeda evokes nothing but sarcasm.

Currently the Islamists have total control over the FSA. According to the Independent, there are 22,500 fighters in ISIS alone. This organization is especially active in taking hostages. For example, they have abducted and detained 35 foreign journalists, as well as 60 various political and public figures. According to U.S. intelligence, over half of the 17,000 foreign insurgents fighting in Syria against the government are part of the Islamic State of Iran and Syria group. The Russian-speaking wing of this group, which numbers several hundred fighters, is led by a Chechen from the Pankisi Gorge in Georgia, Tarkhan Batirashvili, also known as Sheikh Omar al-Shishani... As the Wall Street Journal reports, Batirashvili received his military training in the American-backed Georgian army. His troops include not only emigrants from former Soviet republics, but Europeans who are notable for their "unusual violence...even by the gruesome standards of the war in Syria".

U.S. CIA/FSA mercs with chemical weapons launcher
Although those close to Batirashvili say that he is trying to strike a blow against one of the Kremlin's allies, he also does not hide his hatred for America, writes the Wall Street Journal. In 2008 he fought against Russia in a Georgian military intelligence unit. It is worth noting that in September 2010 the restless Batirashvili was arrested in Georgia for illegally harboring weapons and sentenced to three years in prison. However, in early 2012 he was released from prison and immediately left for Syria. One could assume that this turn of fate took place with the participation of then-president of Georgia M. Saakashvili. Threats from Syrian jihadists toward the Sochi Olympic Games are also linked with Batirashvili's name.

In late November the majority of organizations on which the FSA has been counting declared their commitment to «Islamic values and sharia». They united to form the Islamic Front (IF), announcing their closeness to the «brethren from Jabhat al-Nusra». The total number of fighters in the newly-created front is estimated at 45,000-60,000 men. Western governments, which are rapidly losing control over events in Syria, have already hastened to declare the IF "a force with which it is possible to have a dialog", and even started preliminary negotiations with them. In fact, the IF is a cover and a means of political legalization for the same uncompromising «jihad warriors». Suffice it to say that those who abducted the 12 Orthodox nuns in Maaloula belong to the Islamic Front.

At the same time that ancient Christian Maaloula was being vandalized, representatives of Western countries, including the U.S. and Great Britain, were meeting with the leaders of the IF in Ankara through the efforts of mediators from Qatar. The fate of the nun martyrs was not discussed at this meeting. According to information in the press, during the negotiations in Ankara the Western allies tried to convince the Islamists to moderate their criticism of the Supreme Military Council of the Free Syrian Army and its leader Salim Idris. For their part, those who were uncompromising before the meeting demanded that the Military Council show them more active support, particularly with regard to weapons. And apparently they received this support. One of the British participants in the negotiations admitted to The Daily Telegraph that there are «sinister» elements in the Front.

In making contact with the Islamic Front, Western diplomats are hoping to prevent it from joining the even more radical groups Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS, which unlike the IF openly declare their ties with al-Qaeda. However, these hopes are not likely to be justified. Just a few days after the meeting in Ankara, the IF began pushing the Free Syrian Army out of Syria. Fighters from the Islamic Front have begun seizing bases and weapons depots from the FSA along the Turkish border in the Idlib Governorate. They have already occupied the largest weapons storage facilities in Bab al-Hawa.

Obama criminals take note
In late November at hearings in the U.S. Congress, leading expert Andrew J. Tabler from the Washington Institute acknowledged that the processes taking place in Syria are not going to stay there, but will inevitably spill out into the entire region. And the abrupt increase in extremist elements among the Syrian opposition makes the possibility of helping its pro-Western parts while bypassing the jihadists unlikely.

"We need to start talking to the Assad regime again about counterterrorism and other issues of shared concern,» stated Ryan Crocker, an experienced diplomat who has served in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, to The New York Times.

"It will have to be done very, very quietly. But bad as Assad is, he is not as bad as the jihadis who would take over in his absence». Even Z. Brzezinski, not known for his sympathies toward Russia, states that the threat of an explosion in the Middle East, and in Syria in particular, means that the U.S. needs to work closely with Russia and China «to some extent more than...[with] Britain or France». And cold war paladin Brzezinski knows what he's talking about here.

McCain : Iran Sanctions Bill "Very Likely"

Prison for spastic, insane traitor McCain and his murdering monkey master "very likely"

U.S. Senator John McCain says the Senate is “very likely” to pass a new sanctions bill against Iran despite a deal that the US, Russia, France, China, Britain and Germany - the so-called P5+1 group of countries, reached with Iran over its nuclear program on November 24 in Geneva.

White House, Congress criminals to get the can tied around them
“I think that it's very likely that we could have a sanctions bill, which would take effect at the end of six months if there is no result in the negotiations, is I think what it would be,” the Arizona Republican said on CNN's “State of the Union.”

McCain also said that he disagreed with US Secretary of State John Kerry over Iran’s right to enrichment uranium. “He (Kerry) thinks that the agreement states that basically the Iranians maintain the right to enrich. I don't think that that should be the case after their lying and cheating and concealing for all of these years.”

“The centrifuges keep spinning, the - there can still be quote, construction around the facility at Arak. So we are now pausing when they are continuing - we're easing sanctions while they're continuing a lot of their activities.”

Senile traitor being used again by Obama again to spark WWIII
Iran says it has an inherent right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes as part of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation (NPT) to which it is a signatory. Tehran also says that the right must be part of any deal over its nuclear program.

During a Senate hearing last week, Secretary of State John Kerry defended the recent deal.

He urged lawmakers to hold off on new sanctions legislation against Iran.

The US administration, however; on Thursday imposed new sanctions against a number of Iranian companies and individuals claiming that they are linked to Iran's nuclear activities.

Angered by the move, Iran called the new US sanctions counterproductive which may derail the agreement. Tehran said they “violated the spirit of the Geneva deal”.

Drooling doofus, U.S. traitor John Kerry
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said “We are evaluating the situation and Iran will react accordingly to the new sanctions imposed on 19 companies and individuals. It is against the spirit of the Geneva deal.”

The head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran's parliament, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, said the new US sanctions are “definitely a violation” of Geneva deal and they may foster the idea that “the United States cannot be trusted.”

“The recent action of the Americans also shows that they are not independent in their policies and merely follow the Zionist lobbies,” Boroujerdi said.

Russia on Friday shared Iran's criticism against the new sanctions.

"The US administration's decision goes against the spirit of this document," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said. "Widening American 'blacklists' could seriously complicate the fulfillment of the Geneva agreement, which proposes easing the sanctions regime," Zakharova said in a statement.

On October 12, 2002 the Indonesian island of Bali experienced a terrorist attack that rocked the world. It was unquestionably well-coordinated and executed, the largest in the country's history.
