4 attackers, 4 police reported killed; no American casualties as of yet

Militants staged a suicide car bombing then engaged in a gunfight with security forces near the American consulate in the western Afghan city of Herat early Friday, officials said. An Afghan translator was killed, while several other people, including police, were wounded.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, which underscored the perilous security situation in Afghanistan, where U.S.-led troops are reducing their presence ahead of a full withdrawal planned for next year. The insurgent strikes are no longer concentrated in the country's south and east, but occur with troubling frequency in the north and west, which have been the more peaceful areas in years past.

A U.S. Embassy spokesman in Kabul declined immediate comment.

The attack began around 6 a.m. with the powerful explosion. The car bomber detonated his explosives around 60 meters (66 yards) away from the consulate compound, said Sayed Fazlullah Wahidi, the governor of Herat province. Other militants then began firing on security forces in the area.

Gen. Rahmatullah Safi, chief of police in Herat province, said an Afghan translator who apparently worked at the consulate died, while two police and two private Afghan security guards at the U.S. post were wounded. One police officer was caught under some rubble in the area, and it was not immediately clear if he was killed.

An unclear number of civilians also were wounded, Safi said. The governor put the number at seven.

The police chief, speaking around an hour after the attack started, said the situation had been brought under control, but that security forces were searching for any militants who might have escaped.

Qari Yousef Ahmadi, a spokesman for the Taliban, claimed responsibility on behalf of the militant group, which has often staged combined car bomb and gun attacks in the past.

YOICHI SHIMATSU : The Olympic Committee Is A Mistress Of The Nuclear Industry

Japan Olympic games now to become an experiment on the health of exposed athletes, spectators - a modern day Unit 731 on a grand scale

By Yoichi Shimatsu

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s big lies to the delegates voting on host city for the 2020 Olympics to Japan is a tribute to his deceitful grandfather Nobusuke Kishi, whose support was crucial to winning the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. In line with their subversion of the Olympic spirit toward militarist goals, this bid-winning dynasty is best known for three reasons: corruption of the Games, war mongering and lust for nuclear power. Kishi was a Class-A war criminal who created a secret A-bomb program in occupied Korea, and his grandson’s Olympic bid is a thinly disguised effort to gain world support for Japan as a nuclear-weapons power.

To the surprise of their citizens, a majority of national Olympic committees accepted Abe’s blatant lies about Tokyo’s radiation safety and economic prosperity. First off, so-called Abenomics is destroying what remains of the dying economy of the world’s most debt-ridden nation. Residents of Madrid, disparaged by a pro-Wall Street media, are far less indebted than the average Japanese taxpayer, while the Spanish quality of life is immensely superior to the misery, hunger and hopelessness of Japan’s urban majority, who are soon to be slammed with a consumer tax hike. As for civil disturbances in Istanbul, only a minority of Turkish citizens are affected, whereas everyone in Japan is being relentlessly exposed to unsafe levels of radiation in food, water and air.

Eyes Wide Shut

As if wearing blinders, delegates at Buenos Aires failed to raise questions about the thousands of tons of radioactive ash from Tokyo’s incinerators that burned Fukushima combustible waste for two years. Dumped into the capital’s near-shore landfills, Tokyo Bay is massively contaminated.

Fukushima reactors and spent-fuel rods continue to melt down as Abe floats insane idea of dumping highly radioactive water into the Pacific
The forests around Tokyo’s watershed in Oku-Tama are dangerously drenched by radioactive rainfall, and the national food supply is so irradiated that regulators have raised the food safety level. The risk of more clouds of radioactive fallout sweeping toward Tokyo is not hypothetical but an inevitable consequence of uncontrollable subterranean meltdowns of hundreds of tons of nuclear fuel at Fukushima.

The danger is amplified by recurrent earthquakes along Japan’s major fault lines and consequent volcanic eruptions, which pose a constant threat to the nearby nuclear plants at Hamaoka on the seaside below Mount Fuji, Tokai in neighboring Ibaraki, and the twin plants in Fukushima. Another explosion at any of these nuclear sites would force the evacuation of 50 million residents, or one-third of the population.

"Mainstream media" continues to shill and cover-up for the Japanese government and TEPCO; Al Jazeera has satellite images of the radiation plume it still refuses to publish
A major quake or volcanic eruption, long-overdue in the nearby Nankai Trough and Mount Fuji, and even under Tokyo itself, would close the capital’s airports, forcing thousands of Olympic athletes and spectators along with millions of residents to flee in the opposite direction, directly into Fukushima Prefecture.

Tokyo is a killing field waiting to happen.

How the Bid Was Won

Prime ministers, evil as they might be, are only as good as their henchmen.

For Abe, the global lobbying spadework was done by Japan Olympic Committee chief Tsunekazu Takeda, who traveled to 50 countries to secure support from national committees. His promises were backed up by the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Education (which handles sports) by providing ample foreign-aid packages for local sports programs. Amid all the grant-making and wining and dining, with no transaction records available to the public, it is impossible to distinguish between funds for uniforms and under-the-table payments to corrupt Olympic delegations.

"Everything is fine, not prrrrobrrems!  Just smile to make bad, bad radiation go away!"
Another lever to pull, when trying to buy hosting rights is to influence the International Olympic Committee through its TOP sponsorship program involving corporations that circle the IOC Lausanne headquarters like so many vultures. Takeda’s ally Masato Mizuno, former chief of Mizuno Sports and CEO of the Tokyo bidding team, led the outreach to the TOP sponsors.

These corporate sponsors played a key role at Buenos Aires in quelling fears among national committee who voiced worries about potential radiation exposure to athletes and fans in Tokyo.

Even at first glance, these sponsors are not readily associated with the Olympic goals of good health much less amateur sports. Anyone who believes in healthy fun meal hype from McDonalds does not comprehend the hazards of obesity and clogged arteries. Besides household names like toothpaste giant P&G and smartphone maker Samsung, some brands on the sponsor list such as Atos are virtually unknown.

The sad truth is, Japan will never recover from Fukushima
Every corporation that is a global sponsor of the IOC is, in fact, connected with the nuclear industry, and some directly with the melted-down Fukushima plant. Here’s a look at the list: GE (General Electric): builder of Fukushima Mark 1 reactors Nos. 1,2 and 6; and designer of MOX (mixed oxide of uranium and plutonium) shroud for reactors Nos.3 and 4. The tritium-enhanced explosion at Reactor 3 massively contaminated the Kanto region, including Tokyo’s watershed.

Panasonic: Besides televisions and home appliances, this Japanese electronics giant is a manufacturer of radiation measuring equipment used by TEPCO and other atomic energy players, including Iran’s nuclear program.

Atos: A French IT company that provides command-and-control systems for 70 nuclear power plants around the world, and which is also involved in the upgrade of British nuclear power plants recently acquired by Hitachi-GE.

Dow: Along with partner company Graver, the chemical giant produces resins, polishing compounds, cleansers and filters for the worldwide nuclear industry.

Samsung, Builder of nuclear power plants in South Korea and for export, including the Middle East, in partnership with Toshiba, which built reactor No.5 at Fukushima.

P&G: Proctor & Gamble directors Alan G. Laffley is a board member of GE and James McNerney Jr. is a retired top-ranking GE executive.

Omega: The Swiss watchmaker uses its precision timing technology for monitoring instruments used inside nuclear power plants.

McDonalds: Board member Enrique Hernandez is CEO of Inter-Con Security, which provides armed guards for Southern California Edison's San Onofre reactors and other nuclear plants.

It’s no wonder then that Tokyo won the 2020 Olympics, when the voting was actually a litmus test for “nuclear safety”. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics bid was an obvious opportunity for corporate deal-making and personal bribery toward an overarching interest in the expansion of the global nuclear industry.

Murderous Avarice

One of Nobusuke Kishi’s legacies was his drive to win the nation’s first Olympics host bid as part of a publicity campaign to gain international reacceptance of Japan as a world power. Three years after Kishi’s forced resignation, Prime Minister Hayato Ikeda realized his mentor’s dream.

The Japanese government and TEPCO must not be allowed by the international community to dump more radioactive water into the Pacific; the people of Japan must take responsibility for this catastrophe, absorbing all the damage internally.  This avoidable, criminal enterprise most not be allowed to continue to poison the world, even if it destroys Japan completely - and it appears that it already has

Kishi employed the persuasive services of JOC chief Tsunekazu’s father, Tsuneyoshi who was then known as Prince Takeda. to win international support for the 1964 bid. A dashing figure in the equestrian contests at the Berlin Olympics, he later used his skills at horsemanship as a cavalry officer in Manchuria. The Imperial Army’s cavalry units in northern China recruited Mongol and Machu riders, and one of their famous horseback tactics was to chop off the fingers or hands of passersby with a sword and ride off with their gold rings and bracelets, while tossing away the body parts. After war’s end, the American Occupation command discovered much to their surprise that the vaults at the Bank of Japan were filled with unclaimed jewelry. So many hands had been amputated that the smelters could not separate all the gold into ingots.

Takeda, who knew the gleam of gold, was put in charge of confiscating precious metals from the occupied territories from China to the Philippines, Malaya to Burma. Under his taxation authority, the military police went on a continent-wide rampage of murder and robbery, which led to many Midas legends, for instance, of the Marcos gold. Despite his participation in the chemical gassing of prisoners in Manchuria and plague-and-virus attacks against Chinese cities, Takeda evaded the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal because Unit 731 was inducted into the U.S. military biowarfare program.

Instead, his postwar years were spent at his horse-breeding ranch in Chiba, where there was plenty of land for holes to hide his war loot.

When called up by his wartime colleague Kishi, who had financed Japan’s nuclear bomb program at Konan Island in Korea, the prince put part of his riches at the service of the national drive to host the 1964 Games, which symbolically put behind past destruction and enabled the Japanese government to revive its nuclear program.

Nuclear Mania

Before the Olympics, Kishi visited Britain to examine the site of its first nuclear reactor and managed to enact the Basic Atomic Law, despite domestic opposition due to the still-fresh memories of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The only way to win parliamentary approval was to spend the necessary money on buying votes in the Diet. His grandson is following suit by having the Bank of Japan print so many yen notes that nobody can really keep count.

Kishi also unveiled the Shinkansen bullet train, an electric rail system designed to be powered by nuclear energy. In the 1960s, nuclear energy was still in its infancy, untested in its cost benefit and safety risks. His enthusiasm was much more motivated by the joint Nazi-militarist atomic bomb project codenamed BUND-1 than by any promise of “cheap and safe power”.

In line with his family tradition, Abe has enthusiastically supported his grandfather’s quest for a Japanese nuclear arsenal. More than the quake or tsunami, secret weapons activity at Fukushima was the cause of the March 2011 explosions, fires and fuel meltdowns. Fukushima was not an accident; the meltdown was a logical outcome of illegal nuclear-weapons production, a constitutional crime far worse than anything that preceded the Berlin Olympics.

As put by German philosopher Hegal: History always repeats itself, the first time as a tragedy and the second as a farce. One thing is clear: The buffoon Abeand his pro-nuclear allies are only fooling themselves in this black comedy, which is destined to careen into further disaster. The only act that can follow the follies of the Radioactive Tokyo Games is if Ukraine prepares a bid to host the 2024 Chernobyl Olympics.

“More Lies For War” : Barack Obama, President And “Liar-In-Chief”

Lies upon lies, so many lies the White House criminals can't even keep track of who is lying, what they are lying about

By Larry Everest

Barack Obama’s September 10 speech on Syria was packaged, and is being “debated,” as a defense of his policies and his latest diplomatic moves.

But framing and underneath all that, the basis on which everyone is supposed to think and act is as big a collection of incredible lies as has ever been assembled in a speech, starting with Obama’s assertion that “the world’s a better place” because for “nearly seven decades the United States has been the anchor of global security.”

As is Obama’s claim that the U.S. mission in Syria is driven by opposition to “the terrible nature of chemical weapons.”
United States military closer than ever to mutiny than any time in American history
As is his assertion that the motive of the U.S. is to “stop children from being gassed to death and thereby make our own children safer over the long run.”

Libraries full of books, decades of documentaries, and the testimony of hundreds of millions of victims of what the U.S. has brought to the world would hardly begin to reveal the extent to which these are all LIES.

“Nearly Seven Decades” of Mass Murder – Including the Children

Obama: “The world’s a better place” because for “nearly seven decades the United States has been the anchor of global security.”

Let us fast-forward through U.S. history to those “nearly seven decades.” Past the genocide of Native Americans and the theft of their land, including the “Trail of Tears” where tens of thousands were driven off their lands in the southeastern U.S. and forced to march to Oklahoma—of 15,000 relocated Cherokees, 4,000 died on the march; yes, including many children. And let us fast-forward past slavery, where hundreds of thousands of people, kidnapped from Africa, were worked from “can’t see” in the morning to “can’t see” at night. And the legacy of children ripped from their parents, sold to other slave masters. All to build the foundation for much of what made America into the global empire it is today.
"Trail of Tears"
Let’s pause at just a few events in the “nearly seven decades” Obama claims that the U.S. was making the world “a better place.”

Those decades were launched with, and in important ways defined—militarily, politically, and morally—by the most concentrated mass murder of civilians in human history. The U.S. atomic bomb attacks on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the firebombing of Tokyo in 1945 killed 200,000 civilians, some burned to death on the spot, others dying torturous deaths from radiation poisoning, with survivors and humanity as a whole traumatized. (See from A World to Win News Service, “From Hiroshima and Nagasaki to Today: Reporting American Crimes Against Humanity

Eight years later, the U.S. was “making the world a better place” through the Korean War. Of the U.S. invasion of Korea in 1950, U.S. Air Force General Curtis LeMay boasted that U.S. planes “burned down every town in North Korea.” The U.S. used more bombs and artillery shells in Korea than in all of World War 2, and used napalm—a chemical weapon more terrifying and “effective” against military and civilian targets than the older sarin gas the U.S. accuses Syria’s Bashar al-Assad of using. An estimated five million people were killed in that war, three million of them civilians.
Wounded Marine Gunnery Sgt. Jeremiah Purdie is led past stricken comrades after a fierce firefight for control of Hill 484 south of Vietnam's demilitarized zone in 1966

In the U.S. war of aggression against Vietnam, from 1965-1975, the U.S. continued to make the world “a better place” and along the way demonstrated how much it cares about children by dropping more than seven million tons of bombs on Vietnam and the neighboring countries of Cambodia and Laos before being driven out in 1975, killing an estimated three million Vietnamese—again, many of them children. Typical of the logic and morality of the U.S. military was the infamous statement by one U.S. military commander who directed the burning down of a whole peasant village and then said, “We had to destroy the village in order to save it.” In massacres as at the village of My Lai, and in the “cluster bombs” they dropped, the U.S. specifically aimed to kill civilians—including children—at random.

And in response to the arguments of defenders of U.S. imperialism, including liberal “critics” who insist “that was then, this is now,” the U.S. still provides cluster bombs for use against civilians. In 2006, the U.S. Senate voted, 70-30, to defeat an amendment to a Pentagon budget bill which would have banned the use of cluster bombs near populated civilian areas. That enabled the U.S. to continue to supply cluster bombs to Israel to use in an invasion of Lebanon. (See “Victims of Israel’s Cluster Bombs,” Revolution #61, September 17, 2006, at

Obama rails against Assad as a “tyrant.” But over “nearly seven decades” the United States installed many of the most brutal tyrants who carried out some of the most massive crimes against their own people in history. In 1965, the U.S. orchestrated a reactionary coup in Indonesia and the slaughter of one million communists and others. The massacres were so wanton that in parts of the country, the rivers were choked with bodies and blood. The fascist gangs and Islamic fundamentalists enlisted along with regular military and police to carry out these massacres used and reveled in the most depraved and sadistic means of torturing and killing people to spread widespread terror, including among children. The deaths of communists were then reported to officials at the U.S. embassy who crossed off the names of the dead from lists they had provided to the Indonesian butchers.

The fact that this history is not taught in schools, or acknowledged in acceptable discourse, does not mean these things didn’t really happen. Readers are challenged to look these up for themselves, and send the results of what they find to

Dealing with the Legacy of Iraq

Here’s one bit of actual truth that nearly everyone does know: The Iraq war was based on LIES.

Obama claimed in his speech that he was determined not to repeat what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan. As if simply avoiding U.S. “boots on the ground” should be the measuring stick for whether or not the U.S. is again carrying out the same kinds of crimes it carried out in Iraq and Afghanistan. Justified with THE SAME BASIC SET OF LIES!
The same old, tired lies from insane traitors
Set aside, for a moment, the fact that the U.S. invasion of Iraq was justified by TOTAL LIES about Saddam Hussein’s supposed “weapons of mass destruction.” Set aside, for a moment, the fact that the media, including the liberal New York Times, channeled these lies and gave them credibility.

Consider instead the self-righteous claims by the likes of Dick Cheney and George W. Bush that the U.S. was motivated by and driven to attack Iraq because “Saddam Hussein is a man who is willing to gas his own people, willing to use weapons of mass destruction against Iraq citizens.” (President Bush, March 22, 2002)

Saddam Hussein did gas Kurdish people in Iraq in 1988—something the U.S. facilitated, by the way, including through encouraging the Kurds to rebel and then stabbing them in the back, and through making it possible—including through allies—for Hussein to obtain poison gas. And Saddam Hussein did torture his opponents in Abu Ghraib prison (remember the name of that prison, we’ll come back to it).
War criminal Rumsfeld with pal Saddam
But the U.S. invasion of Iraq, and, importantly, the “diplomatic” moves the U.S. carried out against Hussein—namely sanctions, made things exponentially, horribly worse for the people of Iraq.

Operation Desert Storm, 1991, the first U.S. invasion of Iraq, killed or injured hundreds of thousands—over 25,000 civilians and fleeing soldiers were killed in 48 hours on the “Highway of Death.” Then, after the war, the U.S. continued “making the world a better place” and demonstrating care for children through sanctions that killed some 500,000 children in Iraq—killed because of those U.S. sanctions that prevented them from getting needed medicine, clean water, and nutrition. And this crime was justified by a future U.S. Secretary of State as “a very hard choice, but the price—we think the price is worth it.” (60 Minutes, May 12, 1996).
Swift boat traitor Kerry having cosy dinner with buddy Assad
In 2003, the U.S. and its allies again invaded Iraq—once again making the world “a better place.” During and after the war, between 600,000 and one million Iraqis were killed, and over four million were driven from their homes. (See “Mortality after the 2003 invasion of Iraq: a cross-sectional cluster survey” The Lancet, October 12, 2006 ). One can debate whether the invasion of Iraq was a good move from the perspective of “the national interests of the United States.” But these deaths are almost never mentioned in the mainstream media.

And the U.S. turned Abu Ghraib prison into their hellish torture chamber, with U.S. military personnel bragging on social media and in emails of sadistic torture, murder, sexual abuse, water boarding, beatings, sleep deprivation, humiliation, and dog attacks.
Bush/Cheney criminals ordered torture at Abu Grahib
Today Iraq is wracked with terrible sectarian violence (different religious and ethnic factions killing each other). During the U.S. occupation much of that was directly orchestrated by the U.S. in the tradition of colonial “divide and conquer” strategies, but all of it greatly exacerbated in one way or another by the U.S. invasion and the legacy and present-day reality of imperialist domination.

The same can be said about Afghanistan. And one can literally spin a globe of the planet, point to a country, and find crimes carried out by the U.S.

All this misery is a product of how their imperialist system works. It is a system that, by its nature, is driven to exploit the people and resources of the world, to contend and compete with rivals big and small, global and regional, over their ability to do that, which is driven by its nature to enforce all this with the most brutal violence.

Think about what kind of a SYSTEM is represented by a liar-in-chief who can look back on a record like this, look earnestly into the cameras, and talk about nearly seven decades of “enforcing” what he calls “international agreements” that he claims made the world “a better place.”

“The United States military doesn’t do pinpricks”… and Diplomacy

Far, far too many of those who Obama would refer to as “on the Left” are breathing a sigh of relief that Obama is turning to “diplomacy” instead of launching a military strike—at this moment. But thuggish threats and violent crimes on the one hand and diplomacy on the other are two sides of the same coin.
Obama criminals now banking that U.S. sheep are so relieved that phoney Syria "war" may be avoided that they will not continue to question Snowden revelations; same old MO
Speaking to a world population that is much more aware than are people in the U.S. of the legacy of U.S. violent crimes around the world, and speaking to (and embracing) the “hawks” in the ruling class and good ole boys watching on TV, Obama put on his stern face, looked into the cameras, and made this ominous declaration and threat:

“Let me make something clear: The United States military doesn’t do pinpricks.”

U.S. diplomacy rests on violence and threats of violence, and is aimed at the same ends as violence of enforcing exploitation and oppression, fending off rivals, and keeping people enslaved. If Tony Soprano establishes the freedom to set up and run drug dealing, prostitution, and extortion in a district by threatening to strangle someone (a threat that only means something because everyone knows he actually strangles people), how is that something to celebrate?

And, again, look at Iraq, where U.S. sanctions (“diplomacy”) killed hundreds of thousands of children, and softened up Iraq for the 2003 invasion and all the horrors that came with that.
Stop Thinking Like Americans

On the basis of a world of lies, Obama proclaimed: “Our ideals and principles, as well as our national security, are at stake in Syria, along with our leadership of a world where we seek to ensure that the worst weapons will never be used.”

First of all, given that Obama is speaking for a ruling class of imperialists who have carried out the greatest crimes against humanity in history, WHO THE FUCK WOULD WANT TO IDENTIFY WITH THE “IDEALS AND PRINCIPLES” behind what Obama calls “our” national security!? Those are NOT “OUR” ideals and principles. They are the “ideals and principles” of a murderous, sadistic, depraved imperialist ruling class driven to subjugate, dominate, and terrorize the planet.

So why would anyone want to “debate” what the United States should do in Syria based on THOSE interests? Unless they identify with ensuring that the U.S. imperialist ruling class can continue to dominate the planet, violently enforcing a system of sweatshops and slums, environmental devastation, and a system whose culture and “traditions” have produced an epidemic of rape.

Get Out of the Terms of THEIR Debate, and Get INTO Revolution

Does Obama deserve credit for the negotiations now because he took a “strong stand? Or does America look weak for backing down on the threat of an attack on Syria?

Can the Russians be partners for U.S. objectives in Syria, or should they be put in their place in the imperialist pecking order more decisively now?”

Is a limited military strike possible? Or will it draw “us” into a wider conflict?

Etc., etc., etc.

The answer(s): NONE OF THE ABOVE

The American public is being trained to think in these terms through Obama’s speech, and through endless spinning and “debate” among media pundits who are allowed access to maintream media. But people who have the ability to think critically and have the moral sense to look at things from the standpoint of the interests of HUMANITY have to loudly and clearly REJECT THESE TERMS in all kinds of ways, including connecting that outlook with, and encouraging political protests against, any U.S. moves against Syria.
The Bush/Cheney/Obama criminals will be held accountable for all U.S. military deaths from their illegal wars in Iraq, Afghanistan

It is an unfortunate fact that among the forces “in the field” in Syria, none of them represent the interests of the people—including the regime and its allies and the motley collection of jihadists and more pro-U.S. forces. Beyond that, two reactionary forces are setting overall terms in the Middle East—“the West” (capitalism-imperialism, led by the U.S.) and—on a much lesser scale but equally reactionary—Islamic Jihad. And other reactionary powers (like Russia) are maneuvering for their own interests in the devastating civil war in Syria that has killed over 100,000 and made refugees of a million people.

But none of this should be an excuse for inaction and disorientation by people who oppose a U.S. attack. Just the opposite. An important editorial at, “Syria: No War for Imperialist Interests!” bears ongoing study as a reference point for everyone who finds intolerable the “choices” of different ways of bringing oppression and suffering to the people of Syria. That editorial discusses the problems the imperialist system is facing right now, including that because of real difficulties, obstacles, and dangers to the U.S. empire involved in various scenarios they are debating, it may actually not be a settled question whether the U.S. attacks Syria. In short, there is both a moral and political basis to oppose any U.S. attack on Syria in any form, and openings to wage political protest on that basis.

And as the editorial we referenced earlier notes, this is a “teachable moment”—part of transforming people for revolution that will bring to an end this system that has perpetrated such terrible crimes against humanity.
As part of that, this is a critical moment to bring boldly into every sphere of public life the message of Basics 3:8. In the words of Bob Avakian:

The interests, objectives, and grand designs of the imperialists are not our interests—they are not the interests of the great majority of people in the U.S. nor of the overwhelming majority of people in the world as a whole. And the difficulties the imperialists have gotten themselves into in pursuit of these interests must be seen, and responded to, not from the point of view of the imperialists and their interests, but from the point of view of the great majority of humanity and the basic and urgent need of humanity for a different and better world, for another way.

Protesters Call Ex-CIA Chief Petraeus 'War Criminal'

Betrayus is fortunate that a heckling is all he received; the world is rapidly shrinking for the Bush/Cheney/Obama war criminals and their CIA murderers, who will be hunted down worldwide and EXTERMINATED

Former CIA Director and retired US Army General David Petraeus has been heckled by a group of protesters who called him a “war criminal.”

Cowards, traitors, mass-murderers:  Betrayus and Obama before his master threw him under the bus
The protesters from The City University of New York (CUNY) followed Petraeus as he walked down a street in New York City to teach his first class at the university.

The students called Petraeus a “war criminal,” a “murderer” and a “disgusting imperialist.”

A student said, "That's Petraeus, he's a war criminal!"

"Disgusting, you should be ashamed of yourself," another student said.

They also voiced their opposition to his presence at the CUNY, shouting "every class, David," and "Petraeus out of CUNY."

Petraeus, who resigned from the CIA last year over his extramarital affair scandal, was offered a position as a visiting professor at CUNY.

Bush criminals Cheney, Rice, Powell, et al must now avoid foreign travel whenever possible for fear of arrest
The retired general played vital roles in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars during his military career.

Petraeus was responsible for training Iraqi forces during the US occupation. He was accused of ordering the intentional drone bombing funerals and other civilian targets in Afghanistan, a war crime under the International Criminal Court.

The former CIA director has been a supporter of a military strike against Syria.

What Putin Has To Say To Americans About Syria

Total world chaos is the goal of the Obama criminals, and sooner rather than later the world governments will be compelled to stop it - by force if necessary

By Vladimir V. Putin

Recent events surrounding Syria have prompted me to speak directly to the American people and their political leaders. It is important to do so at a time of insufficient communication between our societies.
Russian President Vladimir Putin
Relations between us have passed through different stages. We stood against each other during the cold war. But we were also allies once, and defeated the Nazis together. The universal international organization — the United Nations — was then established to prevent such devastation from ever happening again.

The United Nations’ founders understood that decisions affecting war and peace should happen only by consensus, and with America’s consent the veto by Security Council permanent members was enshrined in the United Nations Charter. The profound wisdom of this has underpinned the stability of international relations for decades.

No one wants the United Nations to suffer the fate of the League of Nations, which collapsed because it lacked real leverage. This is possible if influential countries bypass the United Nations and take military action without Security Council authorization.

The potential strike by the United States against Syria, despite strong opposition from many countries and major political and religious leaders, including the pope, will result in more innocent victims and escalation, potentially spreading the conflict far beyond Syria’s borders. A strike would increase violence and unleash a new wave of terrorism. It could undermine multilateral efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear problem and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and further destabilize the Middle East and North Africa. It could throw the entire system of international law and order out of balance.

Syria is not witnessing a battle for democracy, but an armed conflict between government and opposition in a multireligious country. There are few champions of democracy in Syria. But there are more than enough Qaeda fighters and extremists of all stripes battling the government. The United States State Department has designated Al Nusra Front and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, fighting with the opposition, as terrorist organizations. This internal conflict, fueled by foreign weapons supplied to the opposition, is one of the bloodiest in the world.

Mercenaries from Arab countries fighting there, and hundreds of militants from Western countries and even Russia, are an issue of our deep concern. Might they not return to our countries with experience acquired in Syria? After all, after fighting in Libya, extremists moved on to Mali. This threatens us all.

From the outset, Russia has advocated peaceful dialogue enabling Syrians to develop a compromise plan for their own future. We are not protecting the Syrian government, but international law. We need to use the United Nations Security Council and believe that preserving law and order in today’s complex and turbulent world is one of the few ways to keep international relations from sliding into chaos. The law is still the law, and we must follow it whether we like it or not. Under current international law, force is permitted only in self-defense or by the decision of the Security Council. Anything else is unacceptable under the United Nations Charter and would constitute an act of aggression.

No one doubts that poison gas was used in Syria. But there is every reason to believe it was used not by the Syrian Army, but by opposition forces, to provoke intervention by their powerful foreign patrons, who would be siding with the fundamentalists. Reports that militants are preparing another attack — this time against Israel — cannot be ignored.

It is alarming that military intervention in internal conflicts in foreign countries has become commonplace for the United States. Is it in America’s long-term interest? I doubt it. Millions around the world increasingly see America not as a model of democracy but as relying solely on brute force, cobbling coalitions together under the slogan “you’re either with us or against us.”

But force has proved ineffective and pointless. Afghanistan is reeling, and no one can say what will happen after international forces withdraw. Libya is divided into tribes and clans. In Iraq the civil war continues, with dozens killed each day. In the United States, many draw an analogy between Iraq and Syria, and ask why their government would want to repeat recent mistakes.

No matter how targeted the strikes or how sophisticated the weapons, civilian casualties are inevitable, including the elderly and children, whom the strikes are meant to protect.

The world reacts by asking: if you cannot count on international law, then you must find other ways to ensure your security. Thus a growing number of countries seek to acquire weapons of mass destruction. This is logical: if you have the bomb, no one will touch you. We are left with talk of the need to strengthen nonproliferation, when in reality this is being eroded.

We must stop using the language of force and return to the path of civilized diplomatic and political settlement.

A new opportunity to avoid military action has emerged in the past few days. The United States, Russia and all members of the international community must take advantage of the Syrian government’s willingness to place its chemical arsenal under international control for subsequent destruction. Judging by the statements of President Obama, the United States sees this as an alternative to military action.

I welcome the president’s interest in continuing the dialogue with Russia on Syria. We must work together to keep this hope alive, as we agreed to at the Group of 8 meeting in Lough Erne in Northern Ireland in June, and steer the discussion back toward negotiations.

If we can avoid force against Syria, this will improve the atmosphere in international affairs and strengthen mutual trust. It will be our shared success and open the door to cooperation on other critical issues.

My working and personal relationship with President Obama is marked by growing trust. I appreciate this. I carefully studied his address to the nation on Tuesday. And I would rather disagree with a case he made on American exceptionalism, stating that the United States’ policy is “what makes America different. It’s what makes us exceptional.” It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation. There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord’s blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal.

Vladimir V. Putin is the president of Russia.

Google - Part III : Letter From An ASEAN Correspondent

Google has been playing games with The 5th Estate once again, and by now this childish crap is so old and stale we don't even bother to announce it anymore, simply cutting and pasting a work-around to their bandwidth-chopping antics and other kiddie shenanigans: We expect to be taken down yet again in the near future however as in 2012 when they trashed The 5th Estate, we will continue to publish until the Fat Lady (Eric Schmidt) sings; in any event, we received this yesterday from our ASEAN correspondent, and he has put it below much more succinctly and comprehensively than we ever could

Dear Editor of  The 5th Estate,

It has come to my attention that an NSA partner-in-crime called Google is again cutting your bandwidth, interfering with your email, and probably illegally trying to deprive your website of its domain name as it has done in the past. These Zionist goons have probably never attended a civics class and therefore have zero respect for First Amendment rights, which do not exist inside their apartheid ghettos in the West Bank, Gaza and Washington D.C. To the Gestapo known as Google, freedom of expression is a foreign (goyem) concept, since they know instinctively that the truth threatens their very existence.

Their crude censorship demands rebuttal and so, my colleague and friend, here is a blast of cold hard fact about the Ghouls of Google.

Yoichi Shimatsu, Hong Kong

Cyber-Gestapo Google Pushes “Do What You Will”

The Gestapo of Cyberspace known as Google has PR blood-stained fingernails after NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden exposed its snooping on email messages, peeping at your trove of jpegs, prying open confidential business files, eavesdropping on smartphones, tracking your purchases, collecting your passwords and pin numbers for credit cards, and meanwhile snitching on you with selective bits of slanted evidence to the federal authorities.

Although its motto is“Don’t Be Evil”, Google chairman Eric Schmidt has a scowl that out-evils Dick Cheney and Dr. Doom. Known to his ex-girlfriends by the pungent nickname “Dr. Strangelove," Schmidt has found a new money-making passion besides hawking porn: Online gambling and hooker ads.

Also, and you’d never guess it: Sailing. Not a yacht like your average billionaire but aboard a $60 million research vessel called the Falkor.

The ship, operated by Schmidt Ocean Science Institute was a gift to his estranged wife, Wendy, but apparently it failed to impress because she mutinied, filing for divorce immediately afterward. Next time you need to save a floundering relationship, Captain Bligh, trying one of those flower delivery agents advertised on Google.

Falkor is not named after one of Erwin Rommel’s brigades in North Africa but is the name of that goofy fuzzy dragon in “The Neverending Story,” protector and companion of the wimpy boy Bastian Balthazar Bux. The German novel by Michael Ende is a quite literal wish-fulfillment story with Freudian subliminal undertones about a shy lad with a large but flaccid id. After dawdling in the realm of Fantastica, Bastian discovers a powerful amulet called the Auryn, comprised of two snakes biting their own tails, a psychosexual image that Dr. Sigmund might have analyzed as the front end of an anal-retentive complex.

Inscribed on the talisman is the incantation: “Do What You Will”, in German “Tu, Wast Du Willst”. Translated into catchier English, that’s Triumph of the Will, a more honest slogan than the repressive moralizing of “Don’t be evil.” Is anyone certain that Eric the Strange is not the reincarnation of a failed Austrian painter?

Back to reality, the ship’s maiden voyage is to the “Dead Zone” off Vancouver. That lifeless channel in the Salish Sea connecting Washington State and British Columbia is better known to locals for the ongoing mystery of amputated feet washing ashore on theSan Juan Islands and other remote outcrops. Always clad in a sneaker, nearly every foot found so far was once attached to the leg of a young teen boy. Since the limping remainder of the owners’ bodies have never been found or reported by hospitals, it can be fairly assumed that some bizarre cult is doing burnt offerings for their master demon. Human sacrifice in the Pacific Northwest is a different kind of never-ending story.

The stated mission of the Falkor is to scour the seabed for microorganisms. For this purpose, the vessel has its own deep-water submersible. This all sounds like credible marine biology until one recalls Snowden’s warnings that the NSA is tapping into undersea telecom cables. To attach an electronic pick-up device, a submersible is required. Is Google freelancing, now that its NSA links are outed?

In a damage-control operation, Schmidt and company have been trying to put distance between the government spooks and their own spooky covert ops. The latest claim is that the NSA is spying on Google. That’s sort of like a boss tracking his employees’ visits to porn sites during work hours.

This new claim is probably true since Google is in neck deep with the Israeli Defense Forcethrough Technion (Israel Institute of Technology). Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page opened a Google research center inside Technion, and Google Ideas chief Jared Cohen is a dual agent of State Department intelligence and Israeli spy operations in Iran, Syrian and Egypt.

During his visit to Israel last year, Schmidt gave praise to the IDF cyberwar program: “The (Israeli IT development) teams are often led by someone in his early thirties and the teams are often people who worked together intensely during their military service. The core areas of Computer Science now revolve around data analytics, big data, artificial intelligence, and large networks of information. These are the same areas developed in the intelligence parts of the military, leading to teams already expert in these areas before they form the companies. Surely the new Israeli push in cyberintelligence will generate many new network security startups.”

Fluency in Hebrew is not necessary for understanding that Google is a partner of Israeli military intelligence. If anything, the NSA patriotic and proper duty is to monitor a Trojan horse of the Mossad, Israel’s weapons industry and the Israeli mafia, which are hostile to America's values and fundamental national interests.

Israel is no friend but, to the contrary, America’s worst foreign enemy. Just tally the Zionist lobby’s push for U.S. airstrikes against Syria after luring Washington into the war in Iraq, sabotage of the Mideast peace process, covert support for Christian-hating jihadists in Syria, Libya and Egypt, and the role of its so-called “art students” in setting up the 911 attacks.

Google Glasses? The spyware was developed by the Mossad in the late 1990s. Google has its very roots in KGB espionage and the Soviet cryptography program that employed the immigrant Brin family, who are Russian Jewish graduates of Moscow State University. Google and Facebook are nothing more than Israeli settlements inside cyberspace.

Found guilty of money-laundering in France, Google has set up offices across Southeast Asia to hide its illicit financial activities and begin its appointed task of destabilizing the region, as it has started doing in Malaysia. It’s high time for an online intifada against this Internet occupation force, but trying to stop Google in cyberspace may seem like ghost-boxing.

The battle is easy, really – just go after the money. Never click on any ad link in Google and buy from their advertisers’competitors – or better yet, save your money and don’t shop online. Switch from Gmail and drop out of Google groups. The vendors will soon get the message not to be selling though the Cyber Gestapo and Online Mafia. And remember to dump your shares in Google before the stock price collapses.

Here is a partial list of Google’s advertisers, which the sneaky company refuses to disclose. As for the massive numbers of ads from the porno industry, gambling bookies, escort services and intimate massage listings, instead of scrolling Google just pick up a print copy of your local weekend magazine.

The real truth on 9/11 slowly continues to bleed out

Many researchers are focusing especially on the little-known collapse of

The Geopolitics Of The United States, Part 1: The Inevitable Empire

The Empire and the inevitable fall of the Obama criminal regime

STRATFOR Editor’s Note: This installment on the United States, presented in two parts, is the 16th in a series of STRATFOR monographs on the geopolitics of countries influential in world affairs.

Like nearly all of the peoples of North and South America, most Americans are not originally from the territory that became the United States.

We have already discussed in the first part of this analysis how the American geography dooms whoever controls the territory to being a global power, but there are a number of other outcomes that shape what that power will be like. The first and most critical is the impact of that geography on the American mindset.

On October 12, 2002 the Indonesian island of Bali experienced a terrorist attack that rocked the world. It was unquestionably well-coordinated and executed, the largest in the country's history.
