"Judge" Dismisses Lawsuit on '40s U.S. STD Experiments - Videos

Judge should have a hole drilled into the back of HIS head and have syphilis introduced, left untreated, just like the Guatemalans he has now screwed, denied justice; "doctors" and "scientists" involved should be hunted down, receive same treatment

WASHINGTON —

A judge has dismissed a lawsuit against U.S. officials by Guatemalans who had been subjected to sexually transmitted diseases by U.S. researchers in the 1940s.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) were a prime concern for health officials in the 1940s, and many medical studies — including the US experiments in Guatemala — used methods that would be considered unethical today. Although standards improved over the decades, clinical researchers continued to push the boundaries of acceptable science -
Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues

The suit, on behalf of the victims and their heirs, came after revelations that Guatemalan prisoners, mental patients, soldiers and orphans had been deliberately infected without their consent. The researchers were studying the effects of penicillin.

U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton acknowledged that the study was a "deeply troubling chapter in our nation's history." But he ruled that federal law bars claims against the U.S. based on injuries suffered in a foreign country and granted a motion by the U.S. government to dismiss the suit.

U.S. "doctors" start experiments in Guatemala that eventually expose 1,308 prisoners, soldiers and patients at a psychiatric hospital to STDs. The US team also takes blood from 1,384 orphans and other children to assess STD diagnostic tests. Evidence suggests that the participants in the study did not give their consent - U.S. Natl. Archives & Records Administration

Walton also dismissed constitutional claims made against several current U.S. officials, including Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. He said that such claims must be against a federal official who was personally involved in the illegal conduct, and none of the U.S. officials sued had been.

Guatemalan officials said last year that they have found 2,082 people were involved in the experiments to infect subjects with syphilis, gonorrhea or chancroid. U.S. officials put the figure at 1,308 subjects.

President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Sebelius all have apologized for the research, hidden for decades until a Wellesley College medical historian uncovered the records in 2009. Attorneys representing the Guatemalans first asked the Obama administration to set up an out-of-court claims process similar to those established in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and the 9/11 terror attacks, but they got no response and filed the suit.

Among the goals of the 1940s research, funded by the predecessor of the National Institutes of Health, was to see how well differing dosages of penicillin worked against different venereal diseases.

Walton said that the plaintiff's pleas "are more appropriately directed to the political branches of our government, who, if they choose, have the ability to grant some modicum of relief to those affected by the Guatemala study."

Real Life Combat : Greek Riots

Useful critique/tips on defending yourself against criminal pigs of all stripes, nations

Big Stick Combat
06/14/2012

Photos from the recent Greek riots allow us to study what happens when people really try to inflict injury on each other.

Observe that the protesters’ poles to carry their flags serve as impromptu (or maybe semi-impromptu weapons). Also observe that none of the pole/stick weapons is anywhere near as short as the standard 28 inch FMA stick. Although the cops’ stick is approximately that length, it is a heavy club with a handle.

Here a cop uses his shield to counter a thrust, striking the head/face of protester

Good weapon choice

Good form, note how the cops' legs are bent, and he is centered

The two-handed wind up of protester on the right leaves him open

A chair is an example of a real weapon:  How many people train with a chair?

The kick is crap.  Leg is locked, torso is forward and hips are back

Note the windup:  He would get more power if he kept the weapon "cocked"

Pole as spear.  The protester is turned sideways, which is good for the cops

The cop should squat and bring the shield down against protester's leg, or pivot, deflect or slam shield into his face [this move may be reversed by protesters to good effect]

Coward Greek cops will soon find themselves overwhelmed as riots increase in size

French President Warns Greeks Over Euro

That certainly didn't take long; Hollande shows true colors as "Sarkozy Lite;" Greeks must be quaking in their boots

Associated Press
By Elena Becatoros

ATHENS, Greece (AP) —

The new French president has warned Greeks that if they vote to move away from international bailout commitments in the upcoming election, they could be pushed out of the eurozone.

EU, Merkel puppet, traitor Hollande throws Greece to the wolves
Greece holds a repeat election June 17 after an inconclusive May 6 ballot left no party with enough Parliamentary seats to form a government, while and coalition negotiations collapsed. Voters deserted the two formerly main parties in favor of smaller, mostly anti-bailout groups on the right and left of the political spectrum.

"I respect the Greek people. They will decide what they want on the occasion of the election" Francois Hollande told the private Mega television station in an interview aired Wednesday.

"But I must warn them, because it is my duty, because I am a friend of Greece, that if the impression is given that the Greeks want to move away from the commitments that were taken and abandon all prospects of revival, then there will be countries in the Eurozone that will want to end the presence of Greece in the eurozone."

Greece's prolonged political deadlock has spooked markets, raising fears it could leave the 17-nation eurozone and default on its massive debts. That, in turn, could further exacerbate Europe's debt crisis, causing borrowing rates for debt-strapped Spain and Italy to soar and even threatening the viability of the joint currency itself.

Greeks done fucking around with coward Greek pigs, riots now turning into real-life war zones

Antonis Samaras' conservative New Democracy party has been running neck-and-neck in recent opinion polls with the radical left Syriza, which came in a huge surprise second on May 6.

Samaras has pledged to stick to Greece's pledges for further cutbacks and reforms, with some adjustments to improve the position of poorer Greeks and boost growth, while Syriza's leader, Alexis Tsipras, has vowed to cancel Greece's bailout commitments.

Greek pigs on wrong side of history; don't stand a chance against free Greek Peoples fighting for their lives and the lives of their families; will be identified, prosecuted, executed for their crimes

Hollande, who won the French elections also held on May 6, said that while he wants Greece to remain part of Europe's joint currency, Greeks "must know that this presupposes a relationship of trust."

Opinion polls published ahead of a two-week pre-election ban showed that no party was likely to win enough votes Sunday to form a government on its own, meaning more coalition talks will be needed. If those fail, a third national ballot would be required — a prospect that would horrify European Union leaders and financial markets alike.

Samaras insisted Wednesday that his party would do "everything for there to be a government."

The only conditions, he said, "is that we stay in the euro — we're not playing with Europe," and to try to amend the terms of the bailout deal to restart the moribund economy and create new jobs.

Samaras insisted that pulling out of the bailout plan altogether "would be a recipe for catastrophe. It's an exit from the euro. We can't accept it under any circumstances."

He also lashed out at Syriza, saying that their plan to pull out of the bailout deal would make the country "the black sheep" of Europe.

"There are some powers in Europe who would want us to be the black sheep, so as to make an example of us," he stressed.

Greece has been relying on billions of euros (dollars) in rescue loans from the EU and International Monetary Fund since May 2010, when the country became priced out of the market by sky-high interest rates after years of overspending and falsifying financial data.

In return, it imposed drastic spending cuts across the board, reduced public sector salaries and pensions and repeatedly increased taxes. The austerity has left Greece struggling through a fifth year of recession and sent unemployment spiraling to nearly 22 percent. Anger against the austerity measures has led to frequent and often violent strikes and protests.

The Fitch Ratings agency said Wednesday that a Greek exit from the eurozone would have a "severe" impact on banks in Portugal, Ireland, Spain and Italy.

"A strong response from policymakers would be required to prevent contagion" — the fear that other nations would also abandon the euro — the agency said in a report.

Samaras has long said that many of the bailout conditions were wrong and has sought to change them. His party's program would not include any more public sector firings, he said, adding that there would be no more tax hikes or salary cuts either.

"I don't believe in and I don't want any more salary reduction or any more taxes," Samaras said. "Those salary reductions that were carried out destroyed the (consumer) market."

Obesity, Depression Blamed for Daytime Sleepiness 'Epidemic'

Well no shit.... Anyone not depressed in Obama's gulag America is clinically insane; drowsiness from working multiple jobs for slave wages a natural occurrence; obesity resulting from all that government macaroni and cheese and now food stamp recipients will be chipped to boot

HealthDay
By Denise Mann
06/13/2012

Obesity has been linked to a host of health problems including heart disease, diabetes and certain cancers, and now new research adds excessive daytime sleepiness to this list.

Oversleep natural result of depression
Well-publicized risks associated with excessive daytime sleepiness among adults include accidents caused by drowsy driving and workplace injuries.

The new, related studies found that the main drivers of daytime sleepiness are obesity and depression. The findings are scheduled to be presented Wednesday at the Associated Professional Sleep Societies annual meeting, in Boston.

"The 'epidemic' of sleepiness parallels an 'epidemic' of obesity and psychosocial stress," study author Dr. Alexandros Vgontzas, of Penn State Hershey Sleep Research & Treatment Center, said in a meeting news release. "Weight loss, depression and sleep disorders should be our priorities in terms of preventing the medical complications and public safety hazards associated with this excessive sleepiness."

Two studies included the same group of 1,741 adults. Of these, 1,173 did not have excessive daytime sleepiness when the study began and 222 did. Depression and obesity were the main risk factors for "new-onset" excessive sleepiness after 7.5 years of follow-up. Weight gain was the top predictor for persistent daytime sleepiness during the same time frame. The rate of new-onset excessive sleepiness was 8 percent, and the rate of persistent daytime sleepiness was 38 percent When sleepy individuals lost weight, they were less tired during the day.

The real crime here is depression "osmosis" from parents, other adults who now simply have no time at all for children, an entire generation will be affected, and this result is exactly what the Obama regime wants:  Underage, undereducated, unresponsive robot vessels with no family ties and ready to be filled with his military martial bullshit, recruitment for his endless illegal wars and his insane vision of ruling the world

The findings in the first two studies were backed by a study of 103 healthy volunteers, which took place over four nights in a sleep laboratory. It also pointed to obesity and depression as risks for sleepiness, the researchers report.

Dr. Scott Kahan, director of the National Center for Weight and Wellness in Washington, D.C., said that the link between obesity and sleep is a complex one. "This study adds further weight to the fact that it is likely bi-directional." This means that obesity could be the chicken or the egg. "Obesity and weight gain affect sleep, and poor sleep affects weight from a physiological and behavioral perspective," he said. For example, "when you are exhausted, it's hard to care about whether you eat a carrot or a Ho Ho," he said.

People who are overweight or obese are also at higher risk for sleep apnea, a condition marked by pauses in breathing during sleep. This can result in excessive daytime sleepiness. But there is more to the connection between sleepiness and obesity than sleep apnea alone, said Dr. Michael Breus, a sleep expert based in Norfolk, Va. "There are more sleepy people in the world than cases of sleep apnea," he noted.

"We have to slim down as a nation," he said. "One of the effects will be a relief of excessive daytime tiredness and a mild decrease in depression." Sleep problems and depression are also inextricably linked, he said: "When we put people with depression and insomnia on an antidepressant, the insomnia gets better as does their depression, and then you are not as sleepy during the day."

Dr. David Kuhlmann, medical director of sleep medicine at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Mo., agreed. "Weight loss should improve the level of daytime sleepiness and this study would support that," he said.

Because this research was presented at a medical meeting, the data and conclusions should be viewed as preliminary until published in a peer-reviewed journal.

WAYNE MADSEN EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL REPORT : Documents Point to U.S. Torture and Murder of Saddam's Chief Banker

Cyborg Cheney most likely paid for the heart he recently stole from a dying child and his mansion in McLean, VA with ill-gotten gains from this debacle

Wayne Madsen Report
By Wayne Madsen
06/12/2012

WMR has obtained snippets of documents that show U.S. troops in Iraq tortured and murdered Saddam Hussein's chief financial adviser, Sa'ad Hassan Ali, in 2004. The U.S. military then engaged in a massive cover-up and ruled that a whistleblower, California Military Intelligence Staff Sergeant Greg Ford, who brought attention to Ali's torture and death, as well as other acts of torture committed against Iraqi detainees, was mentally unbalanced and unfit for duty.

Cyborg spasm Dick Cheney
On November 14, 2005, WMR reported in an article, "How the U.S. stole $30 million from Saddam's chief money mover and then beat him to death," that in one of the worst intelligence fiascoes carried out by the neo-con administration of Iraq under Paul "Jerry' Bremer, Saddam Hussein's chief money mover and financial adviser was beaten to death by US interrogators in Tikrit after the U.S. invasion. Sa'ad Hassan Ali also known as "Abu Seger," had close connections to Saddam. Abu Seger's daughter, an engineer, designed and built Saddam's 50 palaces throughout Iraq.

As Saddam's chief financial adviser and money mover, Abu Seger, a man who was fluent in American-style English, knew where all the "financial skeletons" were buried -- details of Halliburton's involvement with the UN's Oil-for-Food program, the purchase by Iraq of VX nerve gas and other WMD components from US and British sources in the 1980s, and various counter-intelligence operations run by Saddam against the United States and Britain. Abu Seger was also one of Saddam's trusted counter-intelligence agents. It was Seger who Saddam had investigate the Iraqi Communist Party. Seger's western intelligence contacts must have given a green light to his determination that the Iraqi Communists were tied closely to Moscow -- intelligence that cued Saddam to wipe out the Iraqi Communists in 1985 -- during the height of American and Saudi support for the anti-communist Afghan mujaheddin, Nicaraguan contras, and UNITA guerrillas in Angola.

After Samara was occupied by US forces, it was discovered that Abu Seger lived in a home on the Tigris River, just 200 yards from the main U.S. military position in the city. It did not take long for U.S. troops to break down Seger's door and haul him off to a detention center. Seger's wife Sada, an English teacher, and U.S. military intelligence officers were witnesses to what soon transpired.

U.S. forces discovered $30 million in plastic garbage bags in an armoire in Seger's bedroom. Contained in the bags was $14 million in US currency, $28 million in convertible Iraqi dinars, and $12 million in euros. Although the money was counted, signed for by two U.S. military witnesses, and transported to U.S. military headquarters in Samara, it was never seen again. A knowledgeable source present at the time revealed that the $30 million was stolen by U.S. authorities in Iraq. Although Sada did not put up much of a fuss about the taking of the money, she did object when U.S. forces tried to confiscate photos of her family members with Saddam.

U.S. Army SSgt. Greg Ford exposed Bush/Cheney/Rice torture palace at Abu Grahib

Abu Seger, who suffered from high blood pressure, was taken to U.S. military headquarters in Samara without his medication and a dangerous blood pressure reading of 210 over 180. One of the U.S. interrogators who had a pathological hatred for Arabs and Muslims was permitted to interrogate Seger. He beat Seger repeatedly. Although many U.S. intelligence agents viewed Seger as a valuable recruitment target, it was clear that he was a marked man for other U.S. military and contractor personnel with another agenda and another chain-of-command.

One document obtained by WMR details the abuse Seger received at the hands of American troops. The email states that Abu Seger, whose name is redacted, was brought to the Al Asad detainment facility in September 2003 and then transferred to a military medical facility in Balad. A CT scan revealed that Abu Seger suffered from "intra-cranal" bleeding. However, the report stated that the bleeding was "1 to 2 weeks old," which we were told by former California National Guard military intelligence Staff Sergeant Greg Ford was not true since, as the email states, Abu Seger was in U.S. custody for "less than 24 hours" and Ford contends that Abu Seger's head injuries resulted from his torture by U.S. military personnel. The email states that if Abu Seger's injuries were the result of his treatment at the hands of U.S. military personnel, there would be a criminal case but that if they were older injuries sustained before his detention, there would be no case.

Seger knew too much about Iraq's past dealings with the Reagan, Bush 1, and Bush 2 administrations. Seger was quickly ordered transferred from Samara to Saddam's black marble palace in Tikrit. In Tikrit, against the direct orders from a U.S. military intelligence team, Seger was placed in the same room with one of the most feared men in Iraq -- Saddam's lead international assassin. That bit of psychological warfare was obviously meant to increase Seger's blood pressure to the point his death could be attributed to "natural causes." It took several contentious meetings to get the assassin removed from the detention room. Soon, Sada was permitted to deliver blood pressure medicine to her husband. The trip from Samara to Tikrit would be for naught. Suffering from the repeated beatings by U.S. torturers, Seger died in captivity the day after Sada delivered her husband's blood pressure medicine to the black marble palace in Tikrit.

However, Seger left one important legacy that will haunt the United States for years to come. Seger's daughter, the engineer who built Saddam's palaces, managed to gain control of the $9 billion that Saddam's son-in-law, Hussein Kamal, managed to spirit out of Iraq when he defected to Jordan. On June 8, 2009, WMR reported that Dick Cheney, while Vice President, amassed a fortune in cash stolen by U.S. occupation forces in Iraq from Saddam Hussein and some of his leading officials and advisers.
Cheney's possible involvement in the murder of Abu Seger may be added to the former vice president's rap sheet of crimes perpetrated in Iraq and in the United States.

After leaving the vice presidency, Cheney built a multi-million dollar home in McLean, Virginia, a stone's throw from the CIA headquarters. He also owns luxury houses in Jackson, Wyoming and St. Michael's, Maryland.

Corporate U.S. news media drastically downplayed the amount of cash stolen from Iraq by U.S. forces and that the maximum amount of cash discovered in "cottages" was around $760 million, when, in fact, it was much higher. A handful of U.S. troops were charged with stealing some bundles of $100 bills. According to the May 28, 2004, Los Angeles Times, some of the troops who admitted to stealing Iraqi cash tried to tell Army Criminal Investigative Division (CID) investigators that "higher-ups" stole much more, but their information was ignored.
FRAMED:  SSgt. Ford
As for Staff Sergeant Ford, he was relieved of his duties in Iraq, deemed mentally unstable, and was airlifted from Iraq to the U.S. Army hospital in Landstuhl, Germany for psychiatric evaluation. However, another email obtained by WMR clearly shows that the Army psychiatrist in Iraq assigned to evaluate Ford came to a much different conclusion. The psychiatrist, a U.S. Army Captain, said she "was uncomfortable with the way the chain of command was pressuring for a decision" on Ford. Ford maintains he was a witness to the abuse meted out to Abu Seger by his interrogators. The investigator who interviewed the Army psychiatrist believed, according to the email, that there was a "good case" in support of Ford and the allegations of torture of Iraqi detainees.

Later attempts by Army investigators to locate the Army psychiatrist who ruled in Ford's favor came up empty, according to an email dated February 1, 2004. Unbelievably, no records of the Army psychiatrist could be located at the 113th Combat Stress Control Detachment in Riverside, California.

Army files also include a hand-written memo that indicates Ford was the first soldier in Iraq to bring forth allegations of the U.S. torture of Iraqi detainees, even before the more publicized cases of torture at the Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad. The memo bears the name of the 223rd Military Intelligence Battalion, the unit to which Ford was assigned, and indicates that Ford was the "first soldier" to make "allegations of war crimes" in Iraq. There is also a reference to Amnesty International.

Another email from the 43rd Military Police Detachment of the Army's Criminal Investigation Division at Tikrit, dated February 24, 2004, refers to "Unlawful Command Influence" in the investigation of Ford's allegations of torture and murder of Iraqi detainees. An Army Criminal Investigation Division report dated September 8, 2003, states that there was "insufficient evidence" to confirm that Ford's allegations that U.S. counter-intelligence agents routinely struck, pulled the hair, forced into asphyxiation, and pointed weapons at detainees heads and threatened to shoot them. The Army CID investigators also stated they could find no other witnesses to the incidents. In fact, Florida Republican Congressman Allen West, in an August 20, 2003 incident while he served as an Army Lieutenant Colonel in Taji, north of Baghdad, threatened to shoot a detainee in the head if he did not talk. West was fined $5000 and allowed to retire.

Ford is currently suing the California National Guard over his treatment in Iraq for bringing to light the first allegations of the torture of Iraqi detainees by U.S. troops.

While American hero SSgt. Ford continues to be persecuted for exposing torture, War Criminals Bush and Rove remain free and thumb their noses at justice, efforts to bring them to trial; Rove still has not answered for refusing to respond to subpoenas to appear before congress, grand jury

The murder of Abu Seger and the possible transfer of his and Saddam Hussein's money to the personal coffers of Cheney add a new twist to the torture case. The cover-up in the Ford matter and the death of Abu Seger points to Cheney's possible role the homicide of Saddam's chief banker and the theft by Cheney of millions of dollars in Abu Seger's and Saddam's personal funds.

Secretary of the State Hillary Rodham Clinton said that Russia is putting its "vital interests" and relationships in the Middle East at risk if it does not act constructively on Syria, which, she said, is "spiraling towards civil war."

Clinton's warning came a day after she accused Russia of providing a shipment of attack helicopters to Syria—a claim that Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov denied. Lavrov, in turn, accused Washington of giving arms to rebels.

"The United States has provided no military support to the Syrian opposition," Clinton said Wednesday. "None."

The United States and United Nations are attempting to put pressure on Russia to help end the 15-month conflict that has left more than 13,000 Syrians dead.

On Tuesday, Clinton said that the conflict there could escalate without a regime change.

"We are concerned about the latest information we have that there are attack helicopters on the way from Russia to Syria," Clinton said Tuesday, echoing remarks she made last week calling for Syrian President Bashar Assad to be removed from power.

"We are watching this very carefully," Clinton said.
