Deaths of Colvin and Ochlik a blow to journalism; take note [US]Al Jazeera, home of fraud "everyone is a journalist now" losers with "unattributable" bogus "news" trash - these were REAL journalists, not the Wal-Mart greeters with cell phones you utilize to save money, lower libel insurance costs and to even remotely compare them is a gross insult to the assassinated legitimate correspondents and all real journalists; there is no such thing as a "citizen journalist" any more than there are "citizen dentists," "citizen Admirals," "citizen neurosurgeons," citizen Generals"

Syria has handed over the bodies of Sunday Times reporter Marie Colvin and French photographer Remi Ochlik, who died in shelling in the Baba Amr district of Homs
The body of American Colvin was received by a Polish diplomat (since US interests in Syria are represented by Poland) and the body of Ochlik was received by French ambassador Eric Chevalier.![]() |

Colvin, 56, and Ochlik, 28, sneaked into Syria to get an eyewitness view of the government crackdown in the country, but became trapped in the besieged Baba Amr, a target of heavy Syrian military shelling.
Both will now be repatriated to their countries.
Meanwhile, the Red Cross has been denied access to the devastated Baba Amr by Syrian authorities.
A seven-lorry aid convoy arrived in Homs yesterday but, despite having been given earlier permission from the government, the humanitarian workers were told they cannot enter Baba Amr until booby traps have been cleared.
Jakob Kellenberger, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), said: 'It is unacceptable that people who have been in need of emergency assistance for weeks have still not received any help.'
