The next installment of The 5th Estate H5N1 series: More "Smoking Gun" emails between Kobe University virologist and PhD student Teridah Ernala Ginting and investigator Robert S. Finnegan; WHO (World Health Organisation) Press Officer Sari Setiogi's involvement in massive H5N1 cover-up; U.S. Navy NAMRU-2 in Indonesia

Another installment in the H5N1 ongoing investigation
Continuing with our report on H5N1 "novel" weaponized virus creation at Kobe University by Teridah Ernala and her rogue Kobe University professor Yoshihiro Kawaoka.

During this investigator's tenure as Senior Investigative Editor at The Jakarta Post, I was tasked with teaching the first group of investigative journalists for the English language daily under the new democracy in 2002.
It was Setiogi, a journalism student at the time that observed former
Jakarta Post Chief Editor Raymond Touran as he met with U.S. ambassador to Indonesia
Ralph Boyce (ASEAN Pedogate) several times at restaurants in Jakarta to arrange my firing from
The Jakarta Post.
Setiogi remained in touch until she went to work for WHO, and then went silent, discontinuing our professional relationship and obviously over my investigation into H5N1, it's origins and weponization by
Ernala and Kawaoka at Kobe University. It was then that I knew she had gone over to "the dark side" of this nefarious, malevolent experimentation and genitic manipulation of H5N1 into a "super-killer" weaponized virus and other viruses, and I warned her to abandon her association lest she be burned later. She refused my advice, and ceased all communication with her former journalism professor.
This investigator had no knowledge of her relationship with Teridah Ernala until one of the files (below) surfaced in an e-mail Ernala sent. I contacted Setiogi and urged her to go on the record. She never responded, and is now firmly in the grips of the madmen and women at WHO.
It turned out that I had made a great mistake in training her. However, as I advised her - I did not teach her everything.
It is now clearly evident that Ernala and Setiogi were working together, or at least passing information on my progress with the H5N1 investigation - a stunning betrayal by a former student. Ironically, it was Setiogi that informed this investigator in 2003 of the plot by Touran and Boyce to fire me over my investigation into the Bali bombings of 2002. Soon after receiving her warning I was indeed fired, my journalist visa cancelled and ejected from Indonesia on orders from Boyce.

Robert,
Do you know why I'm thinking about
NAMRU?
Because I'm following the news everyday, I found the human cases in Indonesia somehow decreasing gradually. I was thinking the virus can't be just suddenly gone without explanation. We haven't found the good control way of this.
But you know in Egypt, human cases are reported almost everyday. The rank of Egypt has jumped to number 2 (I think), just right below Indonesia. It's about the time, Egypt will over Indonesia.
I talked about this to an Egyptian friend in my lab. He said, NAMRU3 is doing all samples in Egypt. They build a sophisticated laboratory and bring their people to work at it. They hire some Egyptian scholars too, but only for getting samples. The lab never allowed any local to be involved in the project. My friend, a vet, was working there, he said what he did only bring samples and pass it through a window, and no one know what happen to those samples.
That's the only thing that NAMRU allow to do for local people.
I told my friend the same thing happened in Indonesia, and our government kicked them out for that.

well, the activity of NAMRU2 has been banned. I don't know what are they doing there, but I think their work is halted.
I heard the health minister is thinking to re-open NAMRU2. I'm not sure.
About the sequences, I mean the Kobe sample is similar to the other circulating H1N1 samples. But different than mine.
I haven't published anything Robert. The work takes long time. I've been working with the oseltamivir resistant virus for over than 1 year. I have lot of works ongoing to, all of them take time. Even when we submit the paper, it may take at least 3 months before been accepted. Normally, a PhD student will finish one or 2 papers within 4 years. But, in my case, hopefully I can publish a lot.
Hey, congratulation for your anniversary. Please say hi to Ima too.
See you, enjoy Bali.

Hi Robert,
I want to know about US NAMRU lab. The lab was working in Indonesia but then Mnistry of Health banned it. It was said that the lab was only taking samples from Indonesia and used them for making vaccine or else. No contribution's given for the sake of Indonesia.
I want to know about this from your point of view.
Take care too.

Robert,
Do you know anything about the swine flu vaccine developed by the US Navy?

Robert,
The virus has hit over than 100 people in Kobe until now, in just three days. I'm fine, and noone really showed severe symptoms anyway.
But this is very strange thing because mostly students are affected without any history of travelling abroad.
If this is keep continuing, the WHO will level up the pandemic threat to level 6. And they're now thinking to produce vaccine.
I have bad feeling about vaccine Robert. I assume when vaccination is started, the second deadly wave will come. Maybe new H1N1 or reassortant of H5N1 and H1N1 or H5N1 itself.
Naturally, as long as virus can infect human, it won't try to mutate. It's better just let the virus to infect, get fever for 3-4 days, taking tamiflu and others, then recovers. When it happens, the virus has been defeated and we get immunity.
By vaccination, virus will be rejected. Maybe the world will see the cases decrease, and everyone's happy.
But it won't take long. Instead of giving up, virus will be keep on circulating and try to find a way to infect effectively. This may cause massive mutation of virus, to be more transmissible and more pathogenic.
I'm talking in nature's way.
In the other hands. Think about this. If this virus is really spread intentionally by some parties, please think as if you were in their shoes:
1.You spread virus, a highly transmissible one but with mild sickness.
2.People are panic, and forgetting other thing that is really threatening human kinds. The H5N1.
3.What do you expect from people? Of course you will assume (and everyone assumes) that people will try to make vaccine. That's your objective isn't it?
4.When you created the virus, you knew very well about the gene. So you knew already what kind of vaccine people will try to establish. The vaccine that may stop the outbreak for a while, but triggering a deadly second wave. The H5N1.
Robert, if this is really spread intentionally, someone who responsible must have tought far forward.
I'm getting insane.

Hmm..
Unfortunately, all of the reports are mentioning history of travelling.
Definitely, the virus came from one source, then spreading by somehow.
I have all sequences of this virus, all exactly the same codes. Very funny.
One more thing, one isolate from a woman in Netherland, showed one specific similarity with Indonesia H5N1.
Hmm..
Ida
I made several mutation in HA gene and one mutation in NA gene. Then made several virus combinations of those two genes.
From all combinations, they are growing effectively in MDCK (Madin Darby Canine Kidney) cell culture. I failed to grow one virus, I have tried three times but still failing. I assume this one may not able to grow in nature. To know if it's transmitted to human, I will use human trachea cell line later and ferret (usually used for studying influenza transmission in human). So I don't know if it's transmissible to human yet.
I'm working in BSL-2 laboratory, that's the requirement from the government because the original virus was only common H1N1. For H5N1 virus, I'm working in BSL-3 laboratory.
My experiment is confidential (please keep this only for you), noone except my professor and I know this (even we keep it secret from other lab members). Especially after the H1N1 emerged, my work will cause lot of trouble. We will go to the public after everything is set up.
